Ogre Battle is both extremely strategic and incredibly deep. It has a lot to offer fans of the genre (including endless gameplay that never ends) and, really, this is the best (and cheapest) way to get your hands on the game. We know, because we checked. On Wikipedia.

Maybe you're thinking of Tactics Ogre, the spin-off series? It was more along the lines of Fire Emblem, Shining Force, or Final Fantasy Tactics.

No no no, I loved Tactics Ogre and still own it to this day.
...still play it to this day.

I may have been playing another game and got it confused with Ogre Battle.
...it was a typical tactical-rpg grid, turn-based, and had drawn-pictures that would only flinch, then a graphical slash/fireball/lightning would come out of them, hit the other picture, the other picture would flinch, and HP would be taken off.

... yeah, cuz that one sucked. *laughs*
