Wow I feel like I just jumped back in time.

I remember the first time I saw the original Boy and his Blob was back in Nintendo Power in the 80s, and thought it looked cool.

Very cool!!! I dug this back in the day when I had it for NES, even though the easy deaths were frustrating.

I'll try and be optimistic, but this seems like it'd be an uber easy title to market and cash in on without having to worry about making a really solid & quality game.

Awesome. Nintendo really needs to do this with more it's classics. Maybe there's hope for them yet.

Yeah. I guess you're right.

I guess we have to rely on other developers to help make the Wii not suck.

Cool, but this game is actually a much better fit for the DS.

Oh my... I love the original game...

Also... Nintendo Power has a preview of Excitebots too... the game reminds me a lot of the SNES game called Stunt Race.

It's on the Joystiq Nintendo page. ExciteTruck kicks absolute ass.

Yeah... ExciteTruck is indeed very good. And this new entry seems to have much better graphics. And also, online play. I hope it runs at 60fps like ExciteTruck.

And watch this: 10 Stars tricks!

Markez

But the Joystiq Nintendo page only has the cover art (and a bad quality one). The link I posted is from the Nintendo Power website, with actual gameplay images.

Hearing that stuff about Excitebots doesn't necessarily make me more excited, but it does make me infinitely more curious about the game's contents

How long has NP been putting pages of the Mag online?

Those are the first screens and info on ExciteBots and it makes me not nearly as freaked as I was at the cover art.

They also have the first screens of EA's GrandSlam Tennis up:
http://www.nintendopower.com/images/NP240_GrandSlam.jpg

The article says with or without Nunchuck play, and I love the art style it reminds me of the Ghostbusters game (much prefer that art to the X360/PS3 art). I wish they'd do the same thing for Tiger on the Wii instead of trying to make it photo-realistic. Give it character!

Yeah, I saw the Tennis pics too... the game will use MotionPlus and online...

At least they are making an original game and not a port of the 360/PS3 versions. That's how developers should work: just look how great the Shaun White game was received, better than the HD versions, and with better sales.

And the good thing is that EA said two weeks ago that are not going to make any more ports to the Wii. 50% of they console games will be Wii original games and 50% PS3-360 games. And I aprove that.

Yeah good call.
...and good thoughts on Shaun White. It is another game that went with character instead of realisim, I think especially for the Wii that is the way to go, but also I think it is the way to go for most games.

Shaun White was a great game too. Wonderful to play with the balance board, I really enjoyed it. It should be on the 'must have' list of anyone with a balance board.

Hey smoe, I have something for you:

"b"

It's the "b" you dropped. Kind of ironic, isn't it?

Wow, nostalgia bomb!
If ever there were a game to get me to buy a Wii, this would be it. Well, that and the Bob Ross painting game, but sadly that's been scrapped.

i really disliked the game on NES. dont know what it was. the up side is this will already be better than the NES version in my eyes. im glad they are taking that type of art direction with the graphics as well.

WayForward being attached to this game means I'll buy itfor sure, even though I don't think I ever played the original (I honestly can't remember..!)

You just sold me on this. (I hadn't read the article so I didn't know who was doing it... but I'm just as much a slavish devotee of WayForward as I am Mizuguchi or Atlus.)

I liked the original game, but I HATED how easy it was to die from falling only a couple feet... especially since the boy controlled like he was wearing rollerskates.

The concept was great, though.
