Here's the ExciteBox for ExciteBots: Trick Racing

Orange Lounge Radio found (what it identifies as) boxart and a retail game description for ExciteBots: Trick Racing, the apparent sequel to ExciteTruck, and ... well, we foresee some of our readers getting pretty angry -- like the people who expected Monster Games' next title to be an F-Zero update. While ExciteTruck may not have been the deepest racing simulation, Nintendo and developer Monster Games have gone even further in the kid-oriented/casual direction. How much further?

ExciteBots is a party racing game starring animal-shaped robots, in which minigames pop up during races. "You won't believe your eyes when you find yourself shooting goals, throwing pies and even playing poker in the middle of racing robotic animals and insects around off-road tracks," the blurb says. If you were expecting something a bit more ... realistic, this is going to be DisappointBots for you. As for us, 6-player online racing combined with a party game? We're on board.

GameStop reveals a few further details about the game's release: according to listings on the retailer's site, ExciteBots will be sold both in a $39.99 standalone edition and a $49.99 Wii Wheel bundle.

I mean, seriously. As the image was incomplete like the image linked below, I was like "HOLY SHIT ITS BLAST CORPS AGAIN OMG!!" and then saw it getting the shape of a frog and became like ".... buh?"

It still could be a good racing game. I'll give it the benefice of the doubt.

Ever play NitroBike Khan? I didn't ever pick it up because of the poor reviews it got. But ExciteTruck is definitely one of my favorite games, so I hope they do right on this one. Could be really fun with the online component.

I was interested until the whole Mini-Game part came up. I understand adhering to the Casual crowd, but how is mini-games interrupting a race anyone's idea of a good time?

Box art also has the wi-fi symbol, maybe that is a good thing, but I was worried when I heart 'bots' in the title and my excitement has really cooled with the box art + description. I can't imagine this will live up to the predecessor in ANY way.

I guess that is what we get for not buying more copies of ExciteTruck? I've been defending Nintendo to my grave, but I'm still really disappointed by this. Couldn't they bring over Disaster, even if NOA didn't like it, just to throw us a bone?

A sequel to ExciteTruck would have been a really happy day, this is a tremendous let-down.

This doesn't match the mental image I had exactly, so it will be terrible.

Really guys, you amaze me, how a bunch of dumb@$$ some of you can be sometimes.

Yeah, Boxart aint that sweet, and maybe most of us had a mental image of the game (I was picturing somethin like R.C.ProAm for the NES) but at least give it a chance for the trailer/teaser/game footage video/pictures.

Thank you. I totally agree with the boxart's more-than-subliminal design, haha, but kids need to step back and realise that these are VIDEO GAMES. Entertainment based. Knee-jerk reactions to such vague things such as boxart are beyond pathetic. When I was 9, renting cartridges from Blockbuster, I never looked at the boxart. You pick up whatever you haven't played yet and go. Don't buy the bloody thing until you've given it a nice test ride.

i mean this with all sincerity, this is my most anticipated game this year.

What is Nintendo thinking, making a cartoony racing game where you shoot random objects, like soccer balls at each other, whats next banana peels? Pfff, it'll never catch on.

Is this that secret game Monster Games has been working on the last two years? Or was that just a rumour?

I played the hell out of ExciteTruck and at no point did I feel I was missing pie throwing minigames while angling my truck for maximum boost after a 500 foot jump.

NintendoPower.com has a scan from the new issue showing off screenshots for the game. It will be as good as the original game by the looks of it. I was getting worried there by the description at first but now after reading the article, I can't wait to check it out.

Whaaaaaaaa??? There's so much negativity in this thread... I'm pumped for this game, but not before I play the hell out of Overkill, Madworld, and Deadly Creatures in the next month.

Interesting that its starting at 40.00, and everyone is still whining because they rather just "look at the book on it's cover instead of reading it". >.>
