King of Fighters XII hits PS3, 360 worldwide this July

Ignition Entertainment has just announced a July 2009 worldwide release for King of Fighters XII, the impossibly gorgeous first HD entry in SNK Playmore's long-running 2D fighting series, on both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. The fighter features 20 playable characters, all of whom appear as newly redrawn sprites, fighting in equally impressive 2D backgrounds.

According to the press release, preview footage and images for this unbelievably hot game are included in the PS2 release of King of Fighters '98 Ultimate Match, itself a fairly nice-looking KOF -- which happens to be out today. Prepare to be burned by the Orochi flames of a searing hot trailer after the break.

P.S. TLB2 is totally the best fighter ever, and if for some reason you can't get around to 2D-HDifying a sequel, I'll gladly take TLB2 on PSN/XBLA as long as it isn't a shoddy rush-job like FFSp and SamSho II were.

First day buy, this my favorite fighting game. ;)

SO glad i didnt get sf4 and stuck with Turbo HD i mean u can pay 65 to get hadouken'd over and over or u can spend 15 and play with friends on ur psn who arent cheap

King of fighters I loved it ever since i was little no way u can be cheap. This is a real fighting game ( like DOA and SC ). SF4 is garbage and a waste of 60 bucks wait for it to go down to 30-40

I do vote for SNK vs Capcom 2 with all the mayhem and glory of the 2 games!!!!

Mega Power eh? Fantastic... Never actually played a KoF game before, but now that I'm getting much more into SFIV I may have to look into this. Looks fucking awesome too

Can't wait to play this. I really, really miss some KOF in my life. And OMG... is Iori fighting without his powers? O_o

Day one buy for me....even though Garou MotW is my favorite SNK fighter....King of Fighters XI is next in line. Lets go SNKP....make me proud with this one.

As long as the PS3 version has online play and it actually works, I will buy this at full retail price (which I almost never do).

And I just want to say I like KOF better than SF because the characters are more interesting to me. Just my opinion.

How about another Guilty Gear? :'(

There is a new GG being released this year.... Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus....the only thing close (and very close at that) for current gen consoles is Blaze Blue (seriously...this game is GG)
