Sega, whose business is as much about publishing games as it is about punishing Sonic fans without mercy, has revealed in an interview with Videogamer that the future could feature more of Sonic being a Werehog. In discussing the possibility of Sonic's alter-ego emerging from his permanent residence in the clearance bin at your local Wal*Mart, Sega's Ketsui Tatano doesn't think "producing the Werehog was a mistake per se," but he does admit there "were a lot of things we could have done better if we had more time and resources." Then, he delivers this dark omen, saying that should Sega pursue a Sonic Unleashed 2, seeing the Werehog again is "a possibility."
Oh yeah? Well, we can tell you where he won't be, should that dark future come to fruition: spinning inside of our console's disc drive.

Whats so hard about making Sonic games for a console like they do for DS? Just make it 2.5D. 3D models on a 2D world, make it HD. Jesus christ Sega, this isn't frickin rocket science here.

I guess Sega likes the taste of failure.

Sega, just remake Sonic 1,2,3, & Knuckles in HD. Make it one long continuous game. Maybe mod some of the levels to make use of Sonic 3's power-ups and Knuckles/Tails' special moves. Upgrade the sound effects but keep the awesome original midi music.
If you built it... I will buy...

As silly as the whole *idea* of the werehog was/is, wasn't the biggest issue with the game that the werehog levels were ploddingly slow and required little thought or skill? If that's the case, is it really an issue if the werehog comes back *IF* the werehog segments are given a major update? Tatano pretty much admits right there that the levels weren't great. The actual *Sonic* levels of Sonic Unleashed were pretty darn fun, though, so with enough time and effort, couldn't the whole game be brought up to par?
I mean, granted, who doesn't want a Sonic game that's *just* Sonic, but still, as long as they're willing to work on it, I'm not willing to *totally* give up hope...

Why can't I have a hedgehog running wildly and carelessly down the road slamming into oversized trucks?

Yeah, uh, Sega really needs to stop with that. Sonic was loved for being fast, not... this.

I haven't played beyond the demo, but what is up with the orchestral music crap at the start screen? Now, I ussully like that stuff, but Sonic needs catchy themes, wether the original jingles or open your heart.

Hey now, the orchestra world map theme's pretty great. What you should be knocking is the crappy theme, Endless Possibilities. Though I must say, the orchestra version for the Super Sonic battle is truly epic.
Crush 40 is back for Black Knight though, so order's restored.

Geez, Sega, blame Stolar, not the fans.

I can't believe this. I give up. *throws arms up* What the hell...just...put the hedgehog down and leave it there until you people realize what got Sega to the dance in the first place in terms of what Sonic did for the company.

Sega needs to sell the entire IP and all the rights of Sonic the Hedgehog to Nintendo and let Shiggy make a true Sonic the Hedgehog game.

They need to make a nice, updated, 2D Sonic in the spirit of the originals. They'd make a ton of money.

"More time and resources"
Classic Sega milking Sonic Team without mercy. Who else thought they could have worked a Sonic and Knuckles game instead?
Certainly I'd love to see a Sonic World Adventure 2... but something that can be called Sonic Unleashed 2 in NA? That's pushing it.

How about.. instead of calling it Sonic and ruining good childhood memories, you call it.. Scrambles The Death Dealer?

Has anyone that is complaining actually PLAYED this game?
I really don't mind if you hate the game because you picked it up, played it, and it wasn't fun for you. Y'know, that's fine. I feel that way every time somebody tries to get me to play a Final Fantasy game despite my general disdain for that style of RPG.
But if you really haven't picked it up, I can't really respect that. The Werehog levels were not different than Knuckles levels. The non-transformed Sonic bits were near-perfect. And while the Werehog bits could have used some work, they weren't bad.
It was nice to see Sonic wasn't being an Emo in Fantasy Kingdom, having creepy love scenes with human princesses. Unleashed, along with Secret Rings and Rush are bringing back classic Sonic as far as I'm concerned. But nobody cares anymore.

How was The Secret Rings anywhere NEAR the originals? The game controlled itself. Unleashed was the closest thing to the originals and then they STILL went and did something completely random.
