Toy Cars DLC rolling into Burnout Paradise this Thursday
Following a somewhat embarassing premature release of Burnout Paradise's "Toy Cars" DLC a couple of weeks back on Xbox Live, Criterion has finally set a legitimate release date for the nine-car pack. Keep an eye on your respective system's digital shopping center this coming Thursday morning -- that's when Criterion anticipates the miniature vehicles will be released upon the inhabitants of Paradise City.
Surprisingly, with two days between us and shrunken vehicular carnage, Criterion hasn't announced the price of the DLC bundle -- though if it matches the costs displayed during February's accidental launch, we can expect to drop 1,000
($12.50) for the whole kit 'n kaboodle, or 160
($2) per car, with the exception of the Toy Nakamura Firehawk motorcycle, which went for 240
($3) during the early release.

I just got this game on Friday. Love it. This will probably be the first game i buy DLC for.
offday @ Mar 3rd 2009 11:40AM
I have never seen a game even come close to having as much DLC as Burnout Paradise does.
Abobo @ Mar 3rd 2009 11:47AM
Rock Band?
(Both owned by EA, conspicuously)

Burnout Paradise sings to you "I can't liiiiive, if living is without yoooou, I can't giiiive, I can't giiiive anymoooore schweet DLLCCC"
Markez @ Mar 3rd 2009 11:41AM
Alright that was weird. And my guess is, yes, yes they can.
linebeginstoblur @ Mar 3rd 2009 12:14PM
Well, yeah, not only do they still have Boost Specials and Big Surf Island to go, but I wouldn't be surprised if they already have other stuff in the works. In fact, I'm calling it right now, ready? Burnout Paradise will be GOTY 2010. lol
linebeginstoblur @ Mar 3rd 2009 12:03PM
Dear PS3 users, anyone know if they fixed or plan on fixing the bug where you had to erase your game save in order to get the GT Nighthawk boost x3 trophy? I didn't hear anything about the 360 version, but because I don't have a 360, I can't say for sure.
Sure, copying, erasing, getting, then copying it back isn't too painful, but I was hoping for a fix. Just curious if anyone's heard that it's coming. And I hope that Toy Cars doesn't do something like this too.
And I will, of course, be buying this in my continued efforts to support Criterion for all they've done up to this point. lol
robert @ Mar 3rd 2009 1:16PM
don't think they fixed it yet, i still don't have that trophy no matter how may boosts i chain together
Deaddy @ Mar 3rd 2009 12:18PM
I bought the Delorean even though I felt it was overpriced, $2, $3 max would have been better. I'm going to get the toy GT Concept and bike, I guess. I don't have anything to do in the game, but I figure they'll be fun to mess around with when the island comes out. Wish the bike was $2.
hvianna @ Mar 3rd 2009 1:03PM
wow, this is getting really expensive, isn't it? I wonder if the island update will be free..
Sebastien @ Mar 3rd 2009 1:29PM
Nope the island update won't be free and there is still the Cops and Robbers DLC that will be coming up. This will indeed become an expensive game.
linebeginstoblur @ Mar 3rd 2009 3:07PM
The game is as expensive as you want it to be. For $20, you can buy the full game and get the entire full game, plus Bikes for free. For everything you get in the main game, $20 makes it one of the best games out there at the best price.
If you want to buy some of these extra cars or get access to exclusive things like Party and Big Surf Island, yes, you have to pay. But no one's asking you to. Me, personally, I bought it the day it came out and I've bought all DLC since, so for me, yes, it's expensive, but that's because I decided to.
DJcube @ Mar 3rd 2009 1:39PM
I have one pack of Toy Cars (they were accidentally released on the Marketplace) and they're good fun, especially for stunt runs.
Although if you only want to buy a few of the new cars then wait for the Boost Specials. Those cars are awesome, especially the Extreme Hot Rod.
Anil @ Mar 3rd 2009 1:52PM
What do the boost specials do?
Felipe @ Mar 3rd 2009 1:59PM
i want a toy delorean...... but its enough that they even made those legendary cars (all are awesome, although the ghost busters copy is slooooow)
Tez @ Mar 3rd 2009 2:51PM
It's stupid that they don't give us any info until the weekend after they release this new DLC. That's getting pretty annoying. How fast are these cars? How is traffic affected? Anything, ANYTHING besides the fact that these cars are small?
Snappy @ Mar 3rd 2009 4:35PM
=( There goes my popularity =P
Also if these get a price drop Microsofts in truuuuuuuble.
Rhamsey @ Mar 3rd 2009 6:08PM
i love this game, and cant wait to get these cars, but wish it were slightly cheaper.
