They are bowing under the weight of the console RTS Halo Wars! The controls are too refined for what they were doing!

Errr...

Anyway, I mean, this is too bad. World in Conflict was a great game, the sequel would have been fun!

I believe he wasn't referring to the fact that Halo Wars was the best thing EVARZ, but that it's the best RTS controls on a home console. :P

Its unlikely the current consoles could match PC power to play this game. It is Crysis-like in specs, making all but the high-end systems beg for mercy. It would have to be toned down to work well on 360s/Ps3s low-end GPUs (compared to current graphics cards). RTS games don't deserve any place on consoles (except Halo Wars, which i have heard good things about and may look at).

its not that powerful of a game man. theres no game out there that hardly compares to the power needed to run crysis. i have world in conflict on pc and believe me its nowhere near what crysis is.

This is a shame, I really thought that the games mechanics and play style would translate really well to a console. The control scheme was not overly complex and could translate unmolested to a gamepad. The games team based multiplayer is very unique for the RTS genre and probably would have been a good fit with live. Oh well, given the poor sales of RTS games on consoles it is not surprising that the game got cancled.
It will be interesting to see if Halo Wars bucks this trend, but I think it won't.

Are you suggesting that team based multiplayer is a good paring with X-Box LIVE, a service re-known for it's juvenile 14 year olds?

Halo Wars will sell just because of name recognition. I remember when I used to work at Gamestop, immediately after the Halo 3 beta we had an influx of Crackdown. Shame really, Crackdown wasn't too bad of a game

World in Conflict wasn't that great for PC, console owners really aren't missing much.

Shame but well, i got Halo Wars for console RTS needs. Its pretty good, despite PC die hards saying that it can't be fun, unless its not on PC.

What I want to know is an official date for the PC version. Right now its just set for "march".

I also wish I knew how much it will be to download the expansion since I already have the original game.

Really isn't any reason to release this with Halo Wars out now. I love WiC, but there's just no way in hell it'd ever control as well as Ensemble got Halo Wars to on a console. The comparisons would inevitably be drawn, and the game's sales would suffer as a result.

But I will be downloading Soviet Assault on day one for my PC.

World in Conflict was one of the best RTS I've ever played. It's a shame it wont hit consoles. I only wanted more attention for the game. More positive attention.

Considering it was to be released this month, does that mean that the work of porting to the consoles are done and they are sitting on a bunch of first run console discs?

OR have they known this for six months+ and just never felt like letting people know it will be pc only??
