We're calling in sick this month with a case of Peggle XBLA
Dear Christopher J. Grant,
Consider this email a formal request for time off sometime in the month of March. I'm not sick or anything, I just want to play Peggle. I don't know the exact date that will kick off my vacation, since PopCap hasn't revealed specifically when Peggle will hit the XBLA. However, according to a press release we received last night, we know it's coming out in March. So, expect me to be gone whenever that happens.
If, for some reason, Peggle is hit with a case of the Microsoft Certifications (not a real disease) and it doesn't release on the XBLA this month, disregard this email until April, when PopCap will release the Xbox 360 retail disc, PopCap Arcade Volume 2 (which will include Feeding Frenzy 2, Heavy Weapon and of course, Peggle). Don't judge me. I seem to remember a certain website giving Peggle a Game of the Year nod in 2007 and with 4-player multiplayer, how can PopCap go wrong? Besides attempting to charge much more than the rumored (but once confirmed) 800
($9.99) price tag, of course. Anyway, peace out.
Love,
Xav de Matos

Shouldn't this be in the form of an internal email, filed in triplicate, so all relevant parties can sign off on it, pending a decision from HR?
Xav de Matos @ Mar 3rd 2009 5:06PM
That's putting way too much thought into a joke that really isn't a joke. Seriously. I will disappear when that game releases.
MC Double Def DP @ Mar 3rd 2009 4:45PM
Stains rules!!!
giantenemycrab @ Mar 3rd 2009 8:35PM
Ha, I thought you said "Satan Rules!" I wondered why that was getting upvoted..
Magic Whiskey @ Mar 3rd 2009 4:55PM
Gamestop has Peggle branded, blue-flashing bouncy balls with some reserve we're taking. I saw 'em today. Kinda cool.
burgerbat @ Mar 3rd 2009 6:48PM
I was lucky enough to be given one of these blue balls when I went to purchase Peggle for my DS, which is awesome. 2009 is the year of Peggle, bitches.
Slust @ Mar 3rd 2009 5:01PM
Bonus points for using Stains.
Matthew @ Mar 3rd 2009 5:03PM
seems like a boring game to play in front of a TV. Maybe on my laptop while watching a movie or something but I think I'd lose braincells and patience with life if my only focus was this game.
xenocidic @ Mar 3rd 2009 5:03PM
would've been funnier had it been signed "Faithfully yours"
Xav de Matos @ Mar 3rd 2009 5:09PM
Really? I thought signing it LOVE was hilarious.
xenocidic @ Mar 3rd 2009 6:41PM
You can never go wrong with "Faithfully yours"

You mean your middle name isn't Joystiq???
Then damned if I know where the site's name comes from.
Zertoss @ Mar 3rd 2009 5:52PM
From now on, you'll be known as Christopher Jay Grant!
waynski1457 @ Mar 3rd 2009 5:04PM
'Bout damn time!
And this reminds me, any time-frame set for PQ: G yet? I want an excuse to get back into both of these games badly, and one just got set.
Grendel Pr1me @ Mar 3rd 2009 5:08PM
Man, good thing I read this when I did. I was just about to call my fiancee and tell her that it's okay, she can come back now. Fallout 3 is finally finished.
*erases speed dial number*
It was good while it lasted.

Pop Cap Arcade Vol. 2 with Peggle for $20? Awesome.
Xav de Matos @ Mar 3rd 2009 5:11PM
Too bad I have Heavy Weapon. I actually may pick that up instead.
travsam @ Mar 3rd 2009 5:14PM
Yes.. i am getting sick too... i just played the demo for Peggle Nights in the PC and i can't sleep well due to overplaying it... this is becoming now the new XBox Live phrase....
before today "...no still Texas Flood..."
from now "...Peggle is not yet confirmed..."
aaaaargh!!!
SourNotHardcore @ Mar 3rd 2009 5:19PM
Ha, nice post. I think we'll all be out of our PC groove for a while when this hits.
Jonman @ Mar 3rd 2009 5:49PM
Personally, I'm hoping it gets a month or so delay. Too many games on the go to be sidetracked by that.
And more importantly, Mrs Jonman is having some surgery at the start of May, and will be laid up recovering for a couple of months after. This is exactly what she needs to stave the boredom off.

Finally!!
Professor Lario @ Mar 3rd 2009 6:17PM
Peggle has been like World of War for me - I purposely avoided both so that I would not be sucked into the vortex that we have lost so many others to. Look away and run fellow gamers. : )

EXTREEEEEME FEEEEEEEEEEVEEEEEEEEEERRRRR!!!
burgerbat @ Mar 3rd 2009 7:45PM
Xav, you should totally update this post to tell the world that Peggle Dual Shot is out for DS. It wasn't on any release calendars because according to my local Gamestops (the three I had to visit to find my copy) it didn't have an official street date. Peggle addicts should note the DS game is both versions of previously released Peggle, "day" and Nights, plus some exclusive levels crafted by Q Entertainment. The game also comes with a huge Peggle sticker and a free PopCap PC game. You get to choose between Feeding Frenzy, Bejeweled, or HammerHeads, in which you beat the shit out of gnomes with a hammer. The DS game is a great translation, everyone should scoop this game up.
Spybreak @ Mar 3rd 2009 9:50PM
yea I saw that it came out on gamerankings.com but other than that had no clue!
linebeginstoblur @ Mar 3rd 2009 10:31PM
Also, the post should be updated saying that Peggle for XBLA will also be on the PS Store. It's rumored that the PSN version will get a delay, but then again, they're not even too sure when the XBLA version is coming out either. And it's not like the PSN isn't as relevant as the XBLA.
burgerbat @ Mar 3rd 2009 10:41PM
I think this is one of those cases where Xav was making a post for xbox.joystiq.com and omitted the PS3 version, because this news really only had to do with the XBLA retail disc and the inference of a release date on Live. But the man's got Peggle Fever, and he wasn't thinking clearly. I think the post should just be clearly posted in the new peggle.joystiq.com, because I love that shit.
Kind of sounds like you're crying foul for no reason, looking for trouble.
Spybreak @ Mar 3rd 2009 9:48PM
I just noticed they have a DS version of Peggle too, crazy bastards. I watched that dog clip on Talk Soup, hilarious, poor dog.
PojoMofo @ Mar 3rd 2009 9:58PM
TOO MUCH PEGGLE< I CANT TAKE ITTTT!!!!! *slap*
Sorry, I dont know what I was thinking, no such thing as too much Peggle,
Feeding Frenzy 2 however, 3 seconds is too much

NEWS FLASH:
