Eh, you can get $20-30 for the GTA Trilogy for Xbox on half.com and ebay if you have everything. Which isn't bad considering I bought it new for $30 :)

I made the mistake of giving my little brother my PS2 and Games back in 07, the lil fucker traded them all in and some were like Madden 2000, NBA Live 2001, etc. meaning he only got PENNIES for them. I was hot all I have left for my PS2 now is Metal Gear Collection & God of War 1 & 2

If there is any company I'm actually a fanboy of...its Amazon. So this might be something I'll try using in the future. I trust Amazon and they've always had great service. Not to mention that Amazon Prime is the best thing evAr for online purchasing. $75 a year for unlimited 2nd day air orders...puleeesseee.

I bought Left 4 Dead on Amazon's last Black Friday sale, for 40 bucks shipped.

Finished the game up, sold it on eBay for 35, and that's counting off shipping & fees.

Gamestop is fine if you look for deals, I've gotten away with getting several games for free in a row. Look for cheap deals at Target discounts, mom/pop shops, and ebay... play, sell back to GS w/ coupon or deal (sell 2 get $10) and make money.

I guess we could just find the game listing on amazon and then sell it as used. Or craigslist. Just seems odd to me that amazon is doing this. Interesting idea. I wonder how it will turn out in the end.

Goozex goozex goozex. Super Mario Kart is still worth $40 worth of points on Goozex. Because it's in high demand. Guess goozex isn't for you if you want to trade in crap games!

Right. Thanks. This is what I was trying to get at earlier. I'm not going to just trade-in spanking new games right away since I usually hang onto them for a bit. So I have the 1st DDR for 360, Darkness, Zack & Wiki, etc. Are all these games going to just get me nada on goozex? I don't want to bother with it if it's going to assign dollar values to everything comparable to a gameshop.

The dollar values (which are actually point values) are solely based on the demand. High demand games will hold value for a long time. Goozex makes $1 per trade, so they're making money but they aren't raking it in. You can get on the site and get the actual point values for all those games. 1000 points = $50, unless you buy points when there's a special on. I think Zach & Wiki is 250 points right now. But Mario Galaxy and Kart are worth 700-900 points.

Oh, one other thing: sender pays shipping. You get a game, no shipping charge. You send a game to someone, shipping charge. Runs about $3 for USPS and you can print the labels on their site. I'd recommend getting a big box of bubble wrap mailers at Office Depot or whatnot.

A novel idea, to buy back games based on demand. Whats that called a market system?

Wild, exotic ideas you find on this internet

Someone should resurrect Funcoland.

Call me when that happens. Meanwhile, I'll be on eBay.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

It's still a better deal to sell it yourself on Amazon, assuming you can find a buyer.

But at least this will (hopefully) make the used game market a little more competitive.

Used games are like library books to me. Oh sure, they exist, but I have no intention of ever owning them because the last person to own them could have been a leper, or something of that nature.

Anyone else in this category? It involves bringing your own damn shoes to the bowling alley, your own putter to the putt putt golf course (which is more for facilitating the pwnage than because I don't want to use their old crappy clubs), etc.

No, I'm not a crazy that has an aversion to germs (I haven't washed this keyboard in months, for instance), but darnit, I hate used things.

It's good to see more companies giving GameSpot some competition. For those of you in Australia, there are two companies I know of that do mail order trading:
www.replaygames.com.au - Prices similar to EB but seems to trade all formats
www.gamesxchange.com.au - Only does "current" generation games but seems to offer a fair bit more than EB on average.
