Days of Arcade promotion coming to XBLA March 18; Lode Runner, six other titles coming soon
Xbox Live figurehead Major Nelson recently updated his blog with the titillating announcement of a six-week long promotion titled the "Days of Arcade." Similar to last year's "Summer of Arcade" event, the promotion will kick off March 18 with the release of Hasbro Family Game Night, with the following five weeks bringing a number of highly anticipated titles to the Marketplace, including The Dishwasher: Dead Samurai, Flock, Outrun Online Arcade, Puzzle Quest: Galactrix, UNO Rush and Tozai Games' remake of Lode Runner.
Aside from Game Night, we won't know which games are coming which weeks until Major Nelson announces them on the Mondays preceeding their Wednesday releases. However, as the keen-eyed mathmaticians among you have already noticed, with seven titles dropping in six weeks, one XBLA Wednesday will bring us a double dose of downloadable distractions. We've already canceled our Spring Break excursion to Cabo San Lucas in a fit of breathless anticipation.

Rhamsey @ Mar 5th 2009 2:26PM
agreed, ive that game was awesome, and better than some real arcade games.

Sure hope Peggle comes out for XBLA before the 18th. It's been strongly hinted it's coming out this month.

Damn, I remember way back when Lode Runner was originally announced. It feels like forever ago!
Hoping for two things:
- Online Multiplayer (I forget if it was announced or not)
- LEVEL EDITOR!

Not sure about online coop but you can definately make your own levels.
RazorD @ Mar 5th 2009 12:44PM
I guess this means its likely Peggle will come next wednesday then... surely it has to be one of their biggest (if not the biggest) arcade titles..

I can't wait to bust that beast out! It's been long enough since I've played the PC version that I'll drop some space bucks on it. Especially for the achievements!
RazorD @ Mar 5th 2009 12:53PM
Exactly, don't think i've ever been more excited for a XBLA release. Even castle crashers and braid didn't get me as desperate for it.
Popcap clearly just know how to make legal drugs in the form of "Casual" Games

IGN has Galactrix slated for April 1st
Michael Paul @ Mar 5th 2009 1:15PM
A guy at work got the PC version of Galactrix, and apparently it locks up after an hour or so.
I sure hope the delay getting to XBLA is due to those kinds of bugs being kicked out of our version...
Markez @ Mar 5th 2009 3:17PM
Heard the DS version turned out kinda ugly as well :(

Can't wait to get started Running my Loads.
Jonman @ Mar 5th 2009 1:22PM
Why isn't Peggle included in this promotion? I would have through that it's going to be one of XBLA's bigger titles.
TheDave @ Mar 5th 2009 1:44PM
"Hasbro Family Game Night"
What is the deal with this game?
It sounds ALLOT more like SEVEN individual games, with EACH of them costing $10! (800MSP)
Someone needs to explain this a bit more.
Social Outlaw @ Mar 5th 2009 1:53PM
I can't wait for Lode Runner. Ahh, nostalgia

Speaking of Major Nelson, where the hell has he been lately? It's like they cancelled Major's Minute. I actually enjoy watching those.
WiNG [XBL&Steam: WiNGSPANTT] from lifeinagame.com @ Mar 5th 2009 2:22PM
Where's Peggle? Where's Magic the Gathering? and where the HELL are my pants?
J @ Mar 5th 2009 2:30PM
Looks like another great time for Arcade!
Martin @ Mar 5th 2009 3:11PM
Fuck yes, I played a lot of Lode Runner growing up ... I think it was on the original Gameboy? Pretty sure it was.
patrickhuynguyen @ Mar 5th 2009 7:14PM
They better include the level editor on Loderunner! That's what made it so great on the Atari and Apple
