Here's why Gamestop will be around. Some people want to see the transaction take place. When I go to a GS for a used game, I can immediately check out the disc, and don't have to play mail in games to ensure that it's not scratched. Gamestop often runs trade in promos, with more given for more games. I just got a 40% bump on a recent trade in. Amazon is only giving 10% for a limited time.

I tried Playswitch, and Goozex as well. But what if I don't WANT more games, and just want cash? eBay is a crap shoot, and you could end up with less. Plus eBay fees and Paypal fees can eat into an otherwise good sale. Gamestop, for all the crappy prices they give you, WILL give you something. And if you're only using Amazon to "stick it" to GS? At least the GS money is keeping someone locally employed.

I will say an Amazon gift certificate spreads out the options. Even used games at Toys R Us would be better, because I could trade in my sons' DS games and buy diapers for my daughter. That'll learn 'em.

I agree with you. The instant satisfaction is what alot of people want.

Even trading in at Toys R Us will be a hasle unless they change there policy. All games are to have Cases and Booklets. How many times have people either lost a case or the manuals? Well at that point you would be screwed trying to trade in at Toys R Us.

GameStop will take them in and make cases for the ones missing cases. Sorry they can't do anything about missing booklets. Hell they even take in really messed up games and refurbish them by resurfacing the disk.

It will be tough for TRU unless they correct there policy.

People are tools, there's always going to be tools out there, willing to spend 60$ for a game, come back the next week and turn it in for 20$ and having them sell it for 55$, lol 5$ cheaper.

I've thought for a while now that lowering the price of used games will devalue and deregulate them to the extent that very few will actually mainly buy used games, as is the case for some now. So this is great.
