I'd prefer Prototype, mainly for the location, New York City, and it seems like it has a more interesting story, not that i got much out of this trailer. PLUS he can spike rape people from the ground....not much more i could ask for

don't be mean. It's like GTA with out the blood and sex mixed with The force unleashed electrical power. But i think only comic book fans will buy this.

I agree it does look extremely generic and not very interesting or fun. I'm still stickin by my guns that it will average in the high 70s.

+1. looks familiar. looks like any other superhero game. perhaps a better trailer would sway my mind.

don't get me wrong.. I though crackdown was awesome.. I was just poking fun at sony boy with him trying to defend that it was somewhat original and not a carbon copy of previous games. When watching the trailer I instantly thought of crackdown

I played crackdown.
And, really that game had limited to a small amount of story whilst this does.
I agree about it being generic but hey, their trying to make it feel like a comic book story driven experience.

That looks cool too. But since I'm also a HUGE fan of crackdown - I think that InFamous will better fill that void!

both games are sure to do well....

Prototype sounds great but they already spoiled me with online co-op in Crackdown and I just can go back to single player in that game so no sale.

Clearly they didn't realize half of the fun in Crackdown was just screwing around. Joining a buddy to create the largest explosion you could, Finding a big plaza and just making a last stand against cops n whatnot until your die. Perfecting the grenade long jump. Racing to the top of the agency tower. Finding the section of interstate where the cars go retarded and drive 120mph and wreck constantly then placing bolders and barrels in the street and watching the carnage or just trying to dodge the traffic there with low agility.

Neither developer planned on making a Crackdown clone.

I think this game looks pretty fun. I'm going to have to try it out before I decide whether it's worth a purchase. I was instantly more attracted to this than Prototype but to be truthful I'm doing that mostly off of my love for the developer. I do find it interesting that this game will have some consequences for the actions you do or don't do and who you help or leave to die. I kind of expect Infamous to be like Heavenly Sword in a lot of ways. It will probably not be very long but what will be there will certainly be good and worthy of a purchase. Prototype seems to play off the passions of anarchist who want to watch the city burn and kill everyone who stands in their way - which isn't a bad thing per se. I see Infamous as being about a normal guy who gets thrown into an incredible situation and has to decide if he wants to use his powers for good or for his own gain. There doesn't seem to be much good thats comes from the main anti-hero in Prototype.

Does anyone know whatever happened with Sucker Punch. I swear I could remember news from a year or so ago that they were making a new Sly Cooper for the PS3 and the PSP & that they would work together like Resistance Retribution and RFOM 2. I hope they are still going to make some new Sly games as those were some of my favorite PS2 titles.

WHERE? Multiple people on this comment thread have made this claim and not a single person has substantiated evidence. To the best of our knowledge, this trailer is one single day old (yesterday). Please feel free to point us to the site(s) that are hosting this trailer "2 weeks ago."

@deanb No, it was on Kotaku *yesterday* just like Joystiq. (http://kotaku.com/5164816/new-infamous-trailer-makes-little-girl-scared) You are indeed correct that GameTrailers got the "World Exclusive" trailer two weeks ago -- not much we can do about that, they bleed exclusives over there. So I guess, in the words of Bart Simpson, "There's your answer, fishbulb."

You don't hear it so much in this trailer, but during gameplay that constant 'electricity' sound could get old fast.

Looks like it could be really fun. But I understand why it's getting such lukewarm reactions. The devs aren't showing enough of it. Their reasoning being they want to "surprise" us. But it would be cool if they showed off the greater powers/enemies you will face.

Hope this will be a good game but I doubt it. After it comes out it will be just like fracture or crackdown. good up front but no substance, although I enjoyed crackdown a lot.

I think I'm going to get this one over Prototype. I enjoy the style of this game more and the combat looks really good. Plus people complain about exclusives yet they dont support the good ones.

People will buy this game, people also bought games like Vampire Rain and Haze.
Fzzt, pop*

Another trailer that convinces me that the game can fit in the "little engine that couldn't" category along side titles such as Kane & Lynch, Army of Two. People will enjoy maybe even love it, i say kudos to you. I wish i haven't become so jaded towards gaming growing up. I wish i could go back to picking up a game just by "looking at the back of the box".
So many things to take up our time as the days go by, i choose not to add this into the equation.

lol...i remember those days...the thing is, i'd still do that today if only games were cheaper, or the economy didn't suck....these days i have to be so selective with my games purchases

very true rich and negatron. I just bought a game after weeks of playing demos and shopping around for just that one game that would be worth the price. When I had a chance to buy another game (used), I instead bought 3 ps1 games off amazon. What happened to the days when I could just buy the game that looked good? agh... high-payed idiots and community-hired idiots (politicians) running good ideas and good companies into the ground... but that's a discussion for another place.

I'm interested, and it does seem like a good idea for a game, but I'm not sold yet. The voice acting wasn't A quality (not BAD, but it doesn't draw you in). The animations seemed pretty sub-par too. Those two things make me very cautious.

Anyways we'll see. who knows, it might be awesome.
