Rumor: Star Wars Battlefront III goes home to Pandemic [update]

Update: According to Pandemic community manager Mathew Everett, the studio is not currently working on Star Wars Battlefront III.
It would make sense, given that Pandemic was responsible for the first two games. Considering the studio also just pushed Lord of the Rings: Conquest out the door, its Batman title was canceled and the only other project we know about is Saboteur, Pandemic doesn't exactly have a full plate.

Battlefront I and II were excellent, and both were from Pandemic, and I don't consider LOTR:C in the same category as Battlefront. Pandemic is good at Star Wars. Not so much with LOTR. I can't wait.

Well personally I LOVED Episodes I-III and I also loved Eppys IV-VI so I don't see why people bash the first three so much....

I don't know how enthusiastic pandemic are going to be on a title they already ditched. I think it'd be better if it was in the hands of a company who are going to at least put there hearts into it.

This game is why I bought into the HD consoles a while ago, because I knew this game would come out, and this game alone would be worth it all. I still play Battlefront II all the time. I like the almost arcady feel of the gameplay. Everything doesn't need to be so dang "hardcore" and serious all the time, ya know?

I am posting within this article because the topic is Battlefront 3. Some people were saying how much they liked Battlefront 1&2, and those comments are obviously okay (I mean obviously if you like something I like, you're okay). I however thought both games were trash, so I left a comment. No my comment wasn't about how much I loved the Battlefront series- but who said it has to be? I'm sorry if I somehow hurt your feelings.
You ever wonder why exactly there is a comment box? To leave COMMENTS.Opinions? Your thoughts? I can't make it anymore simple.
However if you enjoy reading the same crap, over and over again, might I suggest that we replace the comment box with a multiple choice question instead. "How much do you like the Battlefront series? A. Kinda B. Alot! C. Loved it!" No where does the article say "fans of the series only". There are far greater mysteries my friend. Unfortunately, all you've got is questions and no answers.
The purpose of my post in the first place was to say, the first two battlefront games are terrible- and it is a mistake to give the same developer (The people who made LOTR: Conquest) the go to make the third installment in the series. Pandemic has nothing to new to offer, they turn out the same damn game time and time again.

pandemic's more than one studio, I think it was their Brisbane (?) studio that got shut down.

This is actually bad news. Pandemic hasn't put out a solid next-gen game yet. Mercs 2 was fun enough, but far from stellar. LOTR:C was just terrible.

See i would have liked to have seen what Free Radicals could have brought to Battlefront 3, but i guess it wasn't to be. The first 2 battlefront games were amazing, such great memories of that corridor in cloud city on the first one playing splitscreen with my friends, screaming everytime one of us pushed up another pillar closer to the spawn point.

As this is just a rumor, I hope Pandemic gets SW Battlefront III if for no other reason than they did the first two, which were colossal successes. Although I have to admit, I started this series by buying/playing Battlefront II first and because of the upgrades and slight differences in the second, I was never really able to go back and play the first. Maybe that or I'm not a big enough Star Wars fan (which I'm not anyway).

I know it's off topic but i think no one fully understands what horrible and awesome battles the clones and the droids had. Everyone thinks they are some sort of side plot. They should make a game that is really hard and where you only get to play an ordinary soldier fighting in the war. Then maybe people would realize just how much clones kick ass!!
