There's Something in the Sea and it's BioShock 2 info

One of the papers is the image seen above, which is a drawing of the same Big Daddy doll seen in the BioShock 2 trailer. One of the letters describes the doll a bit: "The head resembles a helmet, the feet could be heavy boots." The letter speculates that the doll "resembles particulars" of an "attacker" that carried out a recent kidnapping.
We're presenting the trailer again after the break, in the hope that one of you BioShockologists will see some new connections between the material on the site and the trailer. Let us know in the comments!
[Thanks, Dominique!]

2k is a company that should be outlawed due to its violence and how it represents women I felt disgusted when I played Bioshock. don’t even get me started about Bioshock 2 with things like this "resembles particulars" of an "attacker" that carried out a recent kidnapping" and how WOMEN and sex play a role in it.
MowDownJoe @ Mar 5th 2009 5:03PM
Jack Thompson? Is that you?
Alistair Gellan @ Mar 5th 2009 3:38PM
Someone needs to chill out. There were no sexual undertones/connotations in the original Bioshock. Sure, it had themes of the corruption of innocence with regards to the little sisters, but there was nothing sexual about it.
I think you're just looking for what you want to see there.
th1rd3y3 @ Mar 5th 2009 3:43PM
Wow, you must have played a different game than the Bioshock I recall!
tmacairjordan87 @ Mar 5th 2009 3:45PM
WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Seriously, people like you that get overly sensitive about something (sorta like the "RE5 is racist fiasco) piss me off. Grow a pair and quit your bitching.
Markez @ Mar 5th 2009 3:50PM
Your post history is funny. And by funny, I mean pathetic and stupid. Thanks, Jack.
Infidel @ Mar 5th 2009 3:51PM
You managed to get sexual connations from little sisters?
Someone get this man a kiddy fiddling medal, he clearly deserves it.
Obie @ Mar 5th 2009 3:55PM
He played the porno version: "Bioschtupp".
"Would you kindly pass the lube".
Insight @ Mar 5th 2009 3:57PM
Check out this Jack guy, thinking he has to 'stand up for the little guy' and fight against something that just isn't there.
What a moron.
DeoWulf @ Mar 5th 2009 4:00PM
Did you type the "kl" and "en" of your screenname by mistake?
...sorry, couldn't resist. Bioshock had moral undertones in its story which most games don't come close to touching. It was not amoral, as you suppose, but actually allowed the player to make their own moral decisions. Likewise, you make your own decision about how you view the content of the game. However, I must say that if you found implied heavy sexual connotations within the narrative, it's YOUR mind that should be pulled up from the gutter, not 2K's writers'.

BioShock turned me on. I am a pedophile, but am uncomfortable with this realization.

This game is just as bad as Left 4 Dead in the way it treats women! I mean did you see that movie a week or two ago? I've never played the game but those Zombies raped that chick. I don't approve of games where Women get raped so fake and poorly... Again I've never played the game but I read it on Fox news. Their the best!

Moptimus Slime (Leader of the Taylor Swift Defense Force, Gobot in disguise) @ Mar 5th 2009 5:04PM
wait how does a "12 YEAROLD GIRL" come across a copy of Bioshock? Second if you hated the game. STOP. PLAYING. IT. I highly doubt Ken Levine was standing behind you with a gun drawn forcing you to play through it. And by "how it represents women" you mean how you were supposed to FREE the LITTLE SISTERS to get REWARDED with the GOOD ENDING?
A MAN CHOOSES A SLAVE OBEYS! A MAN CHOOSES A SLAVE OBEYS!
Hyams @ Mar 5th 2009 5:24PM
Well, the 12 year old girl thing was obviously a joke, so don't take it seriously.

I agree, BioShock is sexist. And what about Noby Noby Boy? Hes constantly stretching and getting longer and longer for 'girl', hes a sexual preditor and must be stopped before he hits the bottom! Also, your lame Jack ass2003.
BUGz @ Mar 10th 2009 10:08PM
Are you serios? i think you have a problem, to say something like that and make no sence at all makes you a Moron!
Unnxandros @ Mar 13th 2009 4:00AM
I wasnt interested in the video till this guy posted this... Maybe ill even get Bio2
Alistair G @ Mar 5th 2009 3:37PM
Something resembling a big daddy being responsible for a kidnapping?
Maybe it kidnapped a former little sister? Bioshock 2 = sprawling, open-world, above ground adventure? Potentially with trips to the now long-fallen-into-disrepair rapture, or a new, underground 'Rapture' created by the jobless big daddies?
I certainly hope so.
Danjer @ Mar 5th 2009 3:51PM
I was thinking before that it could be a prequel and that this girl gets kidnapped in order to become a little sister but I think that the date mentioned is after the events of the first Bioshock.
So, it is completely possible that because in the first game (Spoiler alert, if for some reason you haven't played it, which is a complete shame:) you either free all of the little sisters or kill them all (I'm not 100% sure on these endings). This could mean that Big Daddies have come up from rapture in order to "recruit" more little sisters because they are lonely.
One other idea that I had is that maybe someone who worked directly with Andrew Ryan is trying to get Rapture up and running again... Maybe it could be a sibling or a son/daughter. Maybe they are trying to validate their father's/brother's work in some way. I don't know. I'm just throwing darts and hoping I hit something.
sneaky_raty @ Mar 27th 2009 6:47AM
Honestly...the plane wich you crash with at the bigining of the 1st game looked quite actual to me, and certainly not from the '60s (like the 2nd seems to happen), so no, it's not after...But I had though about the litle sisters also. Yet, it can't be the Daddies who kidnap the girls: the attackers are described as athletic, fit and agile. I don't see any Daddy fitting that description....
baconaholic @ Mar 5th 2009 3:58PM
Am I the only one who thinks that looks just a bit like Sackboy?
Infidel @ Mar 5th 2009 4:02PM
PS3 exclusive!!!
DarrenHollywood @ Mar 5th 2009 4:06PM
Yes you are.
I saw a cabbage patch doll the other day. They totally got that from Sack Boy.
MarkHawk @ Mar 5th 2009 4:24PM
Little Big Daddy!

Baby J Penn (PSN johnnynumber5) @ Mar 5th 2009 3:58PM
I wonder if they will add some sort of multiplayer component for Bioshock 2. It's not necessary but would extend the replay value so long as it fit into the narrative of the game.
MagnusMastah @ Mar 5th 2009 4:03PM
They already confirmed a multiplayer component by putting up multiple job listings stating so.
ryan @ Mar 5th 2009 4:10PM
I wouldn't want a deathmatch or capture the flag type thing, but a competitive objective/timed based mode would be kinda cool.
The Baron @ Mar 5th 2009 6:25PM
I did love the combat of the original. There were just so many options, it ended up being like Guild Wars - so I'd love to see multiplayer in the sequel.
Jampirow @ Mar 10th 2009 2:22PM
As long as they build the multiplayer around the game mechanics, and not the other way around, it will be fine.
MagnusMastah @ Mar 5th 2009 4:01PM
Hasn't it already been confirmed that its a prequel? Or at least, it sure seems that way. It seems to me like this abduction is going to be one of several, most likely with the "attackers" taking these little girls to become Little Sisters.
nullset @ Mar 5th 2009 4:03PM
"[...] this mysterious site, www.somethinginthesea.com, discovered by a Joystiq tipster [...]"
C-can you say, "viral"?
Nick @ Mar 5th 2009 4:05PM
If they intend to release new articles on the same dates as they "occured" in '67 then we should be prepared for the long-haul. Dates go as far as 9/29, with the next one scheduled for 3/15: http://dl.getdropbox.com/u/260890/map.swf
Derek @ Mar 5th 2009 4:35PM
looks like the center location could be rapture?
how'd you find this map? this actually helps a lot.
toolegitvolz @ Mar 5th 2009 6:28PM
How'd you get that map?
Tsura @ Mar 7th 2009 4:45PM
well, the ETA for bioshock IS october, so seting the last bit of information to be released just before that would be proper.
DarrenHollywood @ Mar 5th 2009 4:07PM
If some jackass came into my town and started killing and kidnapping all of my little sisters you can bet your ass that I would come to the surface and take as many of their siblings too.
An eye for an eye. Big daddy style.
lantus @ Mar 5th 2009 4:12PM
Well, it sounds to me as if it's a setting for a prequel to BioShock. Probably the beginnings of 'Big Daddy's' kidnapping girls, to turn them into Little Sisters.
F1 @ Mar 5th 2009 4:34PM
(SPOILER ALERT) Actualy the Little Sisters are originally from Rapture. If I remember the story correctly they were terminally ill girls that were implanted with a sea slug that made them almost immortal.
lantus @ Mar 5th 2009 8:28PM
OR
It could be that the Big Daddies have excaped to the surface and have begun kidnapping children thinking they're Little Sisters.
macdonell @ Mar 5th 2009 9:01PM
you didn't play bioshock did you
VaultICEE @ Mar 5th 2009 4:12PM
I'm starting to get the feeling that you play as a detective in Bioshock 2, and the red penned marks on the letter could be the main character's writing. Hmm...
Crusty Magic @ Mar 5th 2009 4:17PM
Female Big Daddy?
Or should I say...Big Mama?

From the looks of the activity window for the site, there is still going to be 10 more updates to the site. Day 1 is already there atm. Day 10 actually has an am and a pm. Sadly, they're not uploaded on the server.
Look for yourself:
