Unreal Tournament 3 Titan Pack delayed on PS3

We've got some good news and some bad news. We'll start with the negative stuff first. The previously announced PS3 version of the Titan Pack for Unreal Tournament III has been delayed two weeks (the PC version is still out today). According to Epic's Steve Polge, it's been pushed back to March 19 due to a snag in the certification process.

It's not a total loss. The good news is that the PS3 version has been patched today to include Trophies and split-screen multiplayer -- both were originally slated to release alongside the Titan Pack. Hopefully, Trophy hunting and split-screen gameplay will keep you preoccupied for the two-week wait.

Good, now Epic, let's work on making Gears of War 2 playable online.

My friend re-bought this on PS3, im contemplating on if i should or not too. was a good game but is it past its sell-by date?

If you can get friends into it with you, the game holds up very well. Get a few friends talked into it and if nothing else blast some bots. The new game modes sound a lot of fun.

yeah i used to have it, but just about no one online when i had it, played bots all the time, ill give it a try and pick it up next week, what have i got to loose eh?

I have a blast whenever I play it. It's cheap, controls are great, weapons and vehicles are solid, game modes are fun. Two words: buy it.

Heck, I bought it just to support them for allowing K&M controls and mods on a console game. I think they should be rewarded for that, big time.

This almost makes me regret I sold this a couple of months ago. Split-screen really should have been in the game from the beginning.

Is it just me or did screenshots of UT3 always look better than anything else in the U3 engine?

Well, I would certainly expect the inventors of the engine to get the most use out of it.

I still have to give the edge to GOW2, though. It may not run as fast and as smooth at UT3, but the environments seem a lot more detailed.

I assume you're talking Gears 2? That game impressed the hell out of me. So much that I almost bought a 360 while I was drunk the weekend my friends got the game.

Nice picture! Yeah, I loved the look of that level. I'd have to say Gears 2 is the best UE3 game. I think BioShock used UE3 and that game was amazing looking. Even my friend who is a PS3 fanboy said he couldn't believe how good Bioshock looked.

Wow, that's nuts. No, I actually haven't played either Gearses at all. I only watched my friends play some horde mode one weekend when I didn't have power. It's probably the biggest 360 exclusive that I actually feel like I'm missing out on. I knew Gears 1 is on PC, but was disappointed to find Gears 2 isn't going to be ported, since I'm getting a games-capable laptop soon.

It took ages to get the updates with the busy Steam servers. good stuff though, better than what I thought. IMO its playable now.

whoa whoa whoa. Spilt screen??? wasnt people talkin straight SHIT about the PS3 version because it didnt have Split screen??? guess they cant say anything about it now as the PS3 version really IS better than the 360 version

at any rate Trophies might make me pick this up again.

never noticed any of that when I played. not to mention the PS3 version allows for User generated levels. that ALONE is what makes it better on the PS3

It would if people used it. Which incidentally no-one does. That and the fact there's only around 10 people playing at any giving time. I liked it though it's just a shame about the community.

But to be fair the 360 version release around 4-6 months after the PS3 version.

Europe definitely has the patch already. If it doesn't arrive today in North America, then it looks like we might have to wait the whole two weeks.

Cool, cool, can't wait for the real patch though!

You're an idiot. Unreal Tournament is one of the best FPS series. It just translates terribly to home consoles because one of it's biggest aspects is the speed at which it is played.

PC version of UT3 is awesome, glad I own it for PC.

It wasn't awesome. It was nothing more than 2004 with a couple of new modes and a lick of paint. It's awesome if you liked UT2004 but don't expect much more. Depends how you like your shooters. If you want innovation go elsewhere.

i just got unreal tournament 3 actually i just started the campaign 2 days ago but i stopped cause left 4 dead came in the mail yesterday, i need more throphies to i only have like 4 and they all bronze

So trophies are retroactive?

blakepro, the patch is definitely out in Europe right now. If UT3 doesn't update today in North America, then it looks like we might have to wait.
