Makes sense, instead of a 90° rotate button.

That sounds pretty awesome. I really can't wait for this game.

This sounds really cool, and like it will add a layer of depth, at least to that particular weapon. Hopefully some of the other weapons have elements like this as well. From what I saw of Dead Space, you don't do a whole lot of regular gun shooting, like with bullets.

The infra-red pointing system alone can detect rotation, because the "sensor bar" emits from 2 points. However, I suspect the accelerometers are used so that the system knows the correct orientation. For example, if the remote detects 2 horizontally aligned dots could mean you're not tilting it at all or you're holding it upside down. The accelerometers would distinguish which of these is happening.

It's hardly motion control, though I would be surprised if the game didn't have some true waggling motion control for occasional melee encounters or reloading or whatever (I've never played Dead Space).

There are button pressing "contests" that occur if you get grabbed. Those would probably be waggle controlled.

Figured there would have to be something like this. One of the better uses of waggle would be for horror games anyway

the rivot gun is just a stripped down plasma cutter then..

the Wii sensor bar has 5 transmitters either side, the Wiimote is the receiver..

get a camcorder or the camera on your phone - your tv remote - in the viewing mode, point the remote into the lens, pressing the buttons.. see the white light.. that's sending signal.. look at the wiimote & sensor bar, it's the same. the Wiimote it's self is probably blu-tooth..
