Before you blow out the candles on your cake, take a deep breath first. There's 40 of them, after all. Storied publisher Konami celebrates four decades of whip-cracking this month. The company's secret behind its youthful good looks? Konami's European president Kunio Neo tells MCV, "Consistency plays a major part in everything Konami does." Well there's that, and eating piping hot plates of wall-turkey at every opportunity.
Neo also notes that Konami already has big plans for the future, with "a wealth of other new titles in development." Now, after all this excitement, we're going to go lay down. I feel asleep.

I love the mention of "fresh blood" and Castlevania in the same train of thought.

How about updating the Gradius/Life Force franchise someday? Or bringing back some of the other franchises like Blades of Steel, Rampart, and Rush N' Attack!

I was about to say the same thing.
I would pay good money for a t-shirt with that on it.
Will go googling "make your own t-shirts" now.
And dont vote me down for ignorance, but I remember entering:
...B A B A start select (or was it select start?)
at the end of the code. is that wrong? or just for a specific game?
It was a couple decades ago so leave my bad memory alone.

Totally, Spartan.
I thought it was select, start as well.
We ARE talking about Contra right??
I should dust off my NES and try this to make sure.
how embarasing would it be to have the contra secret life code t-shirt wrong.
That would end up on Fail Blog for sure lol

ya,
I actually just tried it. I have the ROM on my iphone lol
select, start = 2p
start = 1p
So, question.. if you wanted this t-shit.. which code would you want?
Contra is all about 2 player for me.

Thanx to all who replied.
It was Contra in particular that I was remembering, and I was always second player.
Also, the other t-shirts are ok, but the above design beats all.

@Spartan. Thats what I remember too. I was thinking that it was B A B A. but wasn't sure if it was just BA, or twice. But I do know it was Select Start. (not start select)

Have you tried doing ANYTHING with a 360's d-pad?
Epic fail.

I don't like the fact that an iconic game, that is, Contra 4 ended up on a Nintendo DS. I want to see Contra 4 on XBLA or PSN. I really can't stand the 2 screens split at the middle. Hard for me to see bullets and what-not coming at me.

I don't know if that is as old as dirt, but that link is effin' hillarious. My IT department is going to be pissed that they have to replace another coffee soaked keyboard.

in other words suing other companies for kicking their ass at the whole 'better music game thing'?
I'd like to note my copy of DDR X sits collecting dust half-unlocked... why konami why? :(
