WRUP: Beyond watching the Watchmen edition
OK, so the reviews on the
Watchmen have been mixed, for both the
movie and the game --
well, maybe not the game. It's time to start dreaming about that next comic book movie that can
outshine outdark
The Dark Knight (which
never actually got a game). So, beyond nodding and smiling for anyone that says the
Watchmen movie was the greatest thing ever put on film this weekend, let's see what everyone's playing ...
- Alexander Sliwinski (@XanderSliwinski): Grand Theft Auto IV: Lost and Damned is my project for the weekend. Continuing on with Tomb Raider: Pot Breaker Underworld if I find the time.
- Andrew Yoon: I'm still on vacation, but I plan on hanging out with the Asian gaming master of Siliconera. On my flight back, I plan on playing a lot more Resistance: Retribution.
- Ben Gilbert (@BigBossBgilbert): Finishing up Resistance: Retribution (review forthcoming), digging further into Halo Wars and maybe, just maybe, I'll finish Metal Gear Solid 4 finally and get started on Uncharted. Oh, right, and lots of beer drinking. It's Philly Beer Week!
- Christopher Grant (@ChrisGrant): I need to wrap up Halo Wars so I can mail it out to Wednesday's prize winner (it's coming – I promise!). Every other free second of my weekend will be spent making sure all those sucka emcees get got in 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand. Did I say that right?
- David Hinkle (@davehinkle): Finished FEAR 2 (good stuff!) and I've been sinking my teeth into the PS3 as of late by jumping on the Killzone 2 wagon with so many others. I got through 6 missions in one sitting, then hopped online for a couple matches of multiplayer and, wow, I can see myself dumping some time here. I also finally downloaded Noby Noby Boy. Yes, I totally "get it." Next week: MadWorld!!!!111one1!!1
- Dustin Burg (@SuperDunner): I'll probably keep on playing the Halo 3 Mythic maps in an attempt to unlock a few remaining Achievements. Also, for whatever reason, I have an itch to track down a copy of Assassin's Creed and plan on giving it a spin.
- Griffin McElroy (@griffinmcelroy): (Can actually do that Rorschach thing with his face.)
- James Ransom-Wiley: Patiently waiting for RE5.
- Jason Dobson (@eToyChest): After emptying my last clip into a swath of non-zombies in Resident Evil 5, I plan on turning my affections back toward Street Fighter IV. Maybe by Sunday I'll have given my skills a much-needed hyper uppercut.
- Jem Alexander (@Yembles): Spending a week in Abu Dhabi, so won't be doing much gaming. I'll have Prinny: Can I Really Be The Hero with me, in case I feel the desire for 10 minutes or so of frustratingly difficult 2D platforming. Strangely, I seem to be getting that desire quite often...
- JC Fletcher (@jcfletcher): The moving adventure finally concludes this weekend, which means that right now all my consoles and stuff are in boxes. I am almost guaranteed, however, to steal a few minutes away to hone my world-class Haggleman skills.
- Justin McElroy (@JustinMcElroy): I'm going to be finishing Resident Evil 5, while never forgetting the torture that my friend James must suffer in the interim.
- Kevin Kelly (@gadgetguy): (Is Iron Man.)
- Ludwig Kietzmann (@LudwigK): I'll be gunning my way through the "Director's Cut" of House of the Dead: Overkill, destroying the legions of lurching zombies with nothing but a shotgun and an infinite supply of outrageous profanity. Other sources of profanity? Unlocking the last few characters in Street Fighter IV.
- Majed Athab: Hardcore gaming: FreeCell, Mahjong Titans, Spider Solitaire. Oh yeah.
- Randy Nelson (@DangerPenguin): After teaching my nephew some necessary skills (I'm behind his high-fives) at his second birthday party, I'll come home, headset-up, and play, oh, 8-9 hours of Killzone 2 (single and multiplayer). I then foresee playing through TRU: Beneath the Ashes with my girlfriend and capping things off with ... more Killzone 2.
- Richard Mitchell (@SenseiRAM): I have finally, finally finished Far Cry 2. Now let us never speak of it again. I also started and finished Mirror's Edge. I actually enjoyed it a lot, even though it's frustrating as hell. This weekend, I plan to dig back into Halo Wars and play Zack & Wiki with the Mrs. Oh, I also picked up the original A Boy and His Blob after hearing about the new Wii version. Looking forward to (hopefully) finally completing it. I never did manage to beat it when I was young.
- Xav de Matos (@Xav): Sat down with Capcom and previewed the final version of Resident Evil 5 before it launches next week. The rest of the weekend I'll be hitting up GTA IV: The Lost and Damned, Banjo Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts and Killzone 2.
- Justin Glow (@justinglow): Adding a custom "Enter" key on his keyboard. It's the hawtness, glows in the dark.
