killzone 2 for me (400 points til general!) and maybe some CoD:W@W with some friends for an hour or so... and i guess i'll go check out the watchmen flick to see if its anywhere near as epic as the graphic novel. at the moment, i think not.

if anyone wants to join a killzone 2 clan, send me a message/add me as a friend over psn and i'll add you, no questions asked. PSN: slycooper_rocker

I'm playing Halo Wars. It manages to do the console RTS pretty well, but I don't think it's worth the full $60 asking price due to lack of content. Luckily mine was free cause I won the Gamestop tournament. =D

My grandma has been in the hospital for about a week now, so my play time has diminished significantly. My PSP and DS accompany me, but I'm too concerned about my grandma to really play anything. If I do, it's Killzone Liberation and Advance Wars: Days of Ruin.

When I do get home, I *try* to get some Street Fighter IV time in. I bought Killzone 2 at launch, but Street fighter IV just has me all kinds of hooked. I also plan on spending a bit of time with Persona 4, mainly because Giant Bomb makes it so damn tempting.

Stoked! It's the snowboarding game I've been eagerly awaiting since Amped 3 turned out to be such a disappointment. And some Street Figher IV. I've got everyone but Seth now, just need to unlock him, then spend wicked amounts of time in training...

If you're a fan of SSX I doubt you'll enjoy this game much. It's more of a simulation snowboarding game than it is arcade-style.

That said, if you enjoyed Skate or Skate II, give it a shot for sure... it's like that, but snowboarding.

I'll give it a shot. If you care to know what I thought of it, I'll hound you in a future comment if you'd like.

Or you can add me on PSN/Live - gamertag is the same as my name here. Is there any online to it?

I'll be tackling some Challenges of the Retro Game variety. I might try some more Kingdom Hearts (original for PS2), at least until I can figure out if I like it or not. Oh, and there are demos of Wheelman, Wanted, Watchmen, H.A.W.X., RE5, Legends of Wrestlemania, and Chronicles of Riddick to be enjoyed. Whew!

Lest I get distracted into SR2 again, I am looking to finallllly really dig into Fallout 3. Which means actually out of Megaton. I know, I'm not far, I suck.

Do you have pics from your costume? Just think, we could psychoanalyze the Joystiq community and allow everyone to offer their own impression of what your inkblot (sounds foul) most closely resembles to them. I think it'd be a fun exercise.

How many hours you have on Fallout 3? Think I'm at 3 or 4 :P

The WATCHMEN film was a piece of shit. It was a barebones superhero flick while WATCHMEN (the real WATCHMEN) was one of the deepest pieces of visual storytelling ever conceived. (Visual meaning films, comics, pieces of artwork just to be clear here). Not only was WATCHMEN not done justice, it makes those uninitiated to the comic book think that this was all it had to offer. It's a shame if there ever was one.

"The WATCHMEN film was a piece of shit"

No it really wasn't. It did what it could in the limited time Snyder had, and what was there while obviously not as good as the books, was good in its own rights.

I agree. What's even worse is that for 20 years this project was passed to much much much more talented directors like Terry Gilliam and Paul Greengrass.

Somehow it got into the hands of the little boy in a man's body, Zack Snyder.

**MINOR WATCHMEN SPOILERS**

Oh man, I loved it. I thought it was one of the most faithful film adaptations of any novel, comic book or video game I've ever seen. I didn't like the change of the scapegoat at the end, but I thought it was really great.

Granted, there wasn't as much social commentary that was frighteningly applicable to the modern day as the comic had (I only read it early last year) but was still really well done. A piece of shit? No way.

I don't think it could have been done any better. Apart from the nerd rage moments that make me ashamed to be classified as a fan along with those pukes, like specific omissions (seriously, they'll be added back in the director's cut along with Black Freighter and Under the Hood), it was an excellent adaptation.

And for more nerd rage, I thought the ending was superior to the original. The original ending came out of left field and the movie version fit much better in the plot. Sorry Alan, David Hayter one-upped you there.

The problem with the movie was that it just wasn't a good adaptation.

It was just a copy-paste job directed by a Man-child with low-rate actors. The only good performances I saw were from Jackie Earl-Haley and Jeffrey Dean-Morgan. Everybody else was horrible. And Snyder did a lazy job of directing.

I thought Snyder was great, what was so great about it was that it WAS basically copy pasted from the comic, he tried very very hard to recreate specific panels! Personally I though that Nite Owl had the best performance besides Rorschach, especially his reaction at the end which I thought was even better than the book

So you would have preferred Snyder throw on his own artistic direction? Watchmen is celebrated as the best graphic novel of all time- I would have been PISSED if he'd have done anything else BUT a copy/paste job. I think what he did very well is adapt the story considering what was left out. The character development and history was told mostly through Holis' bio and through newpapers in the book, and he did a very good job of filling in those spaces.

I just finished Sonic & the Black Knight. Took me just over 3.5 hours to do every single mission. IGN's review was not harsh enough.

Oh well, at least some of the music was enjoyable. So those 3.5 hours weren't a complete waste.

Now that that distraction is out of the way, it's back to Namco X Capcom, Halo Wars, Dawn of War 2, and Valkeria Chronicles. I seem to be on a strategy kick. But wait! Team Fortress 2 and Left 4 Dead will undoubtedly also get playtime.

2 days are not enough for a weekend.

3.5 hours? I think Sonic 3 can be completed in around that time, but that is besides the point. You shouldn't have brought the game and, in turn, encouraged Sega to prod the hedgehog for another run around. It's over, man.

It will NEVER be over. Not so long as there is life left in this body. I love Sonic way too much to let him die like this.

Khan, I'd recommend renting it. Don't think even for a second that the multiplayer gives this game any replay value.

As for gaming and me, well I lost my DS. I don't know how. I'm going to Baltimore for work tomorrow, for two weeks. I'm going to be gameless, minus whatever has automatically downloaded to my Zune. Probably for the best, as I'll be working 7 days a week, 12 hours a day. *sigh* Good bye Joystiqers.

Loco Roco 2, Resistance 2, and possibly try the mediocre Sega tennis game that came with the 360 again.

I'll also be playing "ship my DS games to Amazon" They're offering around 30-50% of what I paid on most of them. Sure, I could try for more on craigslist/ebay, but whatever extra money I could get isn't worth forfeiting my day off for. Not even close!

For the record, I have nothing against the DS, I just enjoy my PS3/360/PSP more.
