It's been a while since we've seen anything out of High Voltage's little-shooter-that-could, The Conduit -- a problem that was expediently rectified on last night's episode of GameTrailers TV. In addition to the revelation that the game won't support Wii MotionPlus but will allow users to chat via Wii Speak, the latest trailer for the shooter, titled "Conspiracy," was aired.
In addition to showing a sizable chunk of gameplay, the trailer (which we've posted after the jump) gives further hints regarding the game's plot. Here's what we've pieced together: There's a conspiracy (Aliens? Illuminati? Grassy Knoll?), which appears to be causing protagonist Michael Ford to have a very bad day. Don your tinfoil hat, crank up the Alex Jones, and check out the trailer after the break.

I like FPS on wii. I enjoy using the wiimote and when motion controls are done well such as in moh2 i enjoy those too. it really helps emerse you in the game and it's fun to hold your nunchuk and wiimote like the handles of a tripod mounted machine gun and mow down nazis. If the game is generic and for the most part most FPS's are the same with notable exceptions, this game for me at least will still be fun. And after all that is the reason I purchased the wii, because it's damn fun to play. It's been a long time since a console was just pure fun. So bash the graphics, the sound, the lack of multiplayer whatever... the wii can't compete in those departments, but it sure is a blast. As long as this game is fun then i'm all in.

The Wii gets a little praise and out come the ravenous elitist console fanboys. When will this stupidity end?For all your boasting of the quality and hardcore edge of consoles and games why aren't your games selling. If the other guy is not at your level why do you even care what games they play or not.Whatever happened to being a gamer and playing the games you loved. What happened to fun?I think all those that find themselves defending some inanimate object that doesn't care if you live or breathe is not something that I would waste valuable time that I could be playing those games I like.I am gamer and own a Wii.

The WII will get praise when it deserves it. The PS2 earned it's respect. Nintendo feels that just because everyone fell for it's WII-fit scam that makes them great. It just proves that they are better con artists. The WII hasn't proven up to now that they can make superior games, they just have proved that they can con people into buy the same garbage over and over again without much effort on their part.

Nobody fails to realize that Nintendo had a plan when creating the Wii and Wii brand of titles as the building blocks of toward a greater installed base. Most 3rd parties initially try to copy Nintendo's success and they fail miserably and had they just make games that they themselves would enjoy rather to force a concept that has already been established by Nintendo they to would have success with the console. The Wii and all consoles are merely a canvas which the developer can choose to create his or her vision. The only thing the Wii manages to do is diffrently is offer a better understanding of what can be achieved through true interactivity via motion control.I am a games and I own a Wii.

Hopefully this game will perform as I expect and we won't have to put up with another generic FPS again.
I don't have flash on this PC so, for obvious reasons the video is unavailable to me, but of every video I see I get flashbacks of two games: Goldeneye 64 and Perfect Dark Zero, and Black. So, three games. All three suffered from terribly dull AI, the type you'd expect from a Sega CD FMV game. Stand and shoot, duck behind barrel, the one who the lazy trigger finger loses, rinse and repeat. No thought, no nothing. With Goldeneye this was acceptable, it was 1997 and Spice Girls ruled the world. Taste had a holiday that year. But the latter two showed what dull AI can do to even the prettiest of games, not that The Conduit is that much of a looker. The non-existent art style kills whatever technological progress High Voltage have claimed to have made with Wii hardware. An ugly hippo, that's for sure.

Listen WII owners stop with the excuses. It is starting to get tiresome. I have never seen a group of system owners who make so many excuses before in my life. I am starting to believe that WII owners have serious doubts about their system of choice. I mean you didn't really believe that Nintendo somehow magically managed to make a system that is somehow superior to the PS3 or the Xbox 360 but still cheaper do you? I think that WII owners are secretly jealous because they are being left out of the main video game line up and are being handed inferior versions of multi-platform games .
I mean think about it. WII owners are not getting Final Fantasy XIII or VS, Street Fighter 4, Metal Gear Solid 4, Prototype, Killzone 2, the original Dead Space, Infamous, Resident Evil 5, Bioshock, Bionic Commando, No Burnout games, Fallout 3 and the list goes on and on. Everyone always talks about the PS3 being denied but the WII is always being denied. While WII owners sit their crossing their fingers hoping that Conduit won't flop or be generic, PS3 and Xbox 360 owners already have several shooters to count on, now and in the future. While WII owners hopes that Squre Enix doesn't give them the shaft, we already have Final Fantasy XIII and Final Fantasy VS which will probably be some of the greatest RPGs of all time. No one even considered giving WII owners Street Fighter HD or Final Fantasy XII and they were on second generation systems. So all of you just because you have a maybe okay shooter coming for your systems, don't start getting all uppity and in our faces and talk about it beating anything. Because if you want to make the comparison between Conduit and Killzone 2, Farcry 2, Halo 3, Gears of war 2 or even Dead Space, then stop. Nintendo is still has a long way to go before they even reach that zenith.

What I still find hilarious is the new found love of FPS games from these very same wii owners that have consistently bashed our systems for having them. It's like we're in some kinda parellel universe where it's ok to bash FPS games (and generic looking ones at that) on any system except the wii.
Lets also not forget, it's ok to bash the hardcore systems for having violent gory games that appeal to our caveman instincts but it's completely different when it's on the wii (madworld).
I too am starting to think some of them are in serious denial just by watching the way they act as time goes on. All you need is a really good memory and you can easily spot the hypocrisy.

Dude, tmac, it's hilarious how much you generalize and exaggerate contrary opinion to suit yourself. So evvvveeeryyyyboooooody has been dogging the PS3 and 360 for having FPS games? Everybody? All Wii owners, I'm assuming is what you're saying? And that same group, also always rips on the PS3 and 360 for having gory games? I don't know if you're singling people out or what, but it borders on delusional. This same sort of deadset stubborn attitude you're rallying against, going overboard generalizing against, is the same thing you're typically always guilty of and why it's so ridiculously rare to see you post anything insightful or worth actually discussing.

Give me a the negatives you what people. Some times the truth hurts but that doesn't make it any less truthful. No one is taking the WII as seriously as WII owners imagine they are. They just want Nintendo's money and will make any crap to get it.

Lack features?
It has the most customizable controls in any fps to hit the market yet.
Online? Check.
Story? Check.
Unique Weapons? Check.
Weapons only attainable with Wii controls? Check.
Great voice acting? Check.
Unique gameplay object (ASE)? Check.
What features is it lacking...and furthermore, have you not noticed The Conduit has a lot of "features" that the PS3 and 360 don't have?
Trust me, I love my 360...I just got finished playing Call of Duty WAW a few minutes ago, and came to check up on this discussion, and the ignorance is really annoying me.

Ignorance? Get the hell out of here. What gets me is that you people are touting what would be seen as small things on a game for any other console as 'features'.
I'm talking about game modes, I'm talking about good AI, good physics systems, things like co-op and advanced matchmaking, you know, things that for the most part simply aren't possible on the Wii. That isn't fanboyism, that isn't hating, and it is certainly not ignorance - it is the truth.
If you have a 360, than you should understand what I'm getting at - while this game will have a few of features that PS3/360 FPSes do have, it won't have nearly as many as the higher tier titles on those aforementioned systems. It's as easy as that.

How can you judge the AI and Physics? They've had the AI set on the easiest levels for demos and trailers so they showcase everything.
Call of Duty 4 didn't have co-op...that game was amazing.
The physics? That's a major feature for FPS's?
And anothing thing. What about the weapons that are only possible in the Wii or maybe...MAYBE...the PC.
A gun that you can turn to use as a bolo?
I don't see that in any of the PS3 and 360 games.
I'll be fair.
The graphics...(while great for a wii game) won't be as good as FPS's on the 360 and PS3 now...maybe at the beginning of each of the consoles.
Personally, if I had to choose between...
Great Graphics or Unique gameplay and weapons?
Well, damn it, I'm choosing the unique gameplay.

What it did have, was many more other features than this game boasts. Plus, it managed not to look and feel generic, something that this game looks to succeed in.

This game doesn't look unique in any sense of the word. Yeah, you have a bolo gun and a homing gun. I've seen weapons just as unique as that in shooters for the 360/PS3. I still love using the Bullseye and the Splicer in Resistance 2, weapons just as unique as any you'll find in this game. What makes this gameplay look unique? Aside from the controls, it looks boringly generic.

What does difficulty have to do with awful AI? All the ramped up difficulty will do is make you take more damage for each bullet you eat. It won't suddenly mean the baddies are going to start actively seeking cover or flanking you just because it's on hard. You guys can't be that retarded.

And as for the phsics...so what if it's on the wii...I'm sure a year ago you would say bump-mapping wasn't possible, but look what HVS(The developer) has done.
And yet again...physics are not, and never should be a selling point in an

What features does Call of Duty 4 have that this game doesn't have?
And don't say gamemodes, because they havn't even been announced. Call of Duty was a generic shooter that was polished beyond belief. It took the staples of the genre and perfected it. It was nothing new...very generic...it was just polished.

I've yet to see a game on the 360 or PS3 that allows you to shoot a bullet that'll hit surfaces and sling around to take someone out undercover.
The Bullseye and Splicer are very unique weapons...I'll admit that..but they have less control than the weapons of The Conduit...with the conduit...you guide your projectile exactly where you want it. With the Bolo gun, you posision it to hit at the angloe you choose. That's something the 360 and PS3 will never allow.

If by controls you mean gameplay as well along with mechanics...then I'm okay with that, that's why I buy games...to have fun...PLAYING them...not watching physics.

Physics simulations as well as A.I. add to the gaming experience and immersion and make any game better. You can't be so brainwashed to think something like physics isn't important especially in a FPS that has explosions, bullets, water, concrete, wood and presumably blood in addition to other materials. Maybe you are that naive and your just going to say whatever you can to pimp this game. The truth is I have been following this game as long as Wii only owners and as such have seen multiple gameplay videos.
As I said earlier the game being on easy has nothing to do with how smart the A.I. is. All that means is you can take more or less damage which is actually artificial difficulty that most games use (i.e. COD WAW). I would bet that if it isn't a scripted scene the enemies will just stand in front of you without working together or actively seeking cover. None of this means the game will suck but when you start looking at everything it looks like amateur hour. It's as if people are only excited because it's a FPS on the wii with multiplayer.

That sounds like me.. Do you know how much fun I have using the wiimote to shoot shit? Lots!
Would I complain if all the greatest features from the best fps were put in this game? No.
Would it stop me from liking this game if if all the greatest features from the best fps were missing? No.
Why, because I have fun shooting shit with my wiimote.
To me there is enough value in the "shooting shit with the wiimote" that I can look over the fact that it is missing all the greatest features from the best fps.

TwEE,
I'm not enraged or anything, I'm just trying to defend a developer who's taking the risk to go out of their way to make a hardcore game for a console that's been recieving nothing but shovelware lately.
When people come by pass a glance at a few screens and call the game "generic" it annoys me because of all the work that High Voltage Software has put into this project. They went out on a limb here, this game came out of their direct funds, so if it cans...they can.

That wasn't really directed at you. It was more directed at people (like tiamat5 or tmacairjordan87) who make assholish broad generalizations against people they dont know because they have different tastes in something as trivial as entertainment.

I'll totally agree with TwEE on this.
man I love shootin' shit with ma wiimote!! the shooting sections in Disaster for instance were so much fun, and don't get me started on Metroid and Overkill.
since MP3, it's like impossible for me to play a shooter (FPS or not) with analog sticks back again, it feels just so outdated (even with better physics, AI, and all the wooptidoo U can add in)
and oh, let's not get into this Wii-Fanboism crap, cause I'm also multiplatform owner. but the only thing I use my 360 is to play SF4 (Ken Masters and Fei Long FTW!!!)
So yeah, back on topic... day 1 purchase for me when the game comes out just to support HVS and yeah, shoot some shit with ma wiimote ;)

TwEE not only do you love shootin shit you obviously love talking it too. Why is it that just because the WII does not offer what the other consoles offer that you guys have to play the "Fox and the grapes" and keep pretending that it doesn't matter that most of the games that the WII put out are inferior. Do you people really think that like Gears of War or Metal Gear Solid that this game will sell 3 million units and over? Okay let me ask a question that has been dogging me for a while seeing WII owners attitude. If the WII was different and it actually was made like the PS3 and Xbox 360 and had powerful graphical capability and was able to run high powered games that ran like a dream with all the bells and whistles would we be having this conversation? Would all of you be making all these excuses and pretending that graphics and power don't matter? Or would you be here boasting about the WII's graphical prowess and talking trash?

Fox and the grapes?!?! No its just like the story of the grasshopper and the octopus. All year long the grasshopper kept burying acorns for winter while the octopus mooched off his girlfriend and watched TV. Then the winter came, and the grasshopper died, and the octopus ate all his acorns and also he got a racecar. Is any of this getting through to you?
"Do you people really think that like Gears of War or Metal Gear Solid that this game will sell 3 million units and over?"
When did I or anybody say anything about this game outselling Gears of War or Metal Gear Solid?
" If the WII was different and it actually was made like the PS3 and Xbox 360 and had powerful graphical capability and was able to run high powered games that ran like a dream with all the bells and whistles would we be having this conversation?"
So if the wii had everything that tiamat5 considers dreamy, would he (or she) be getting such a nose bleed over the fact that people find value in the wii? How the hell should I know? You're the one with the issue, your the one who came to this Wii thread to make some sort of point. So it seems the problem is yours.
"Would all of you be making all these excuses and pretending that graphics and power don't matter? Or would you be here boasting about the WII's graphical prowess and talking trash? "
So would ALL OF US wii owners start acting like you tiamat5? Unless this dream injected Wii comes with a full frontal lobotomy I doubt it...
Oh and the cast of The Wizard of OZ called, they want thier straw man back. Apearently they dont take kindly to you smaking him around.

I dunno about the others, but personnally it's more about the games and the fun I can get out of them then the specs or the machine they run on.
I'm way more into the fightin genre then RPGs, RTS and shooters for exemple. I tried Gears and never got into it. I like to watch MGS played by a friend but don't have the patience for all the stealth it involves. Though I don't say it's a bad game (far from it) it's just not my kinda stuff...
As for how many units a game sells. The f*ck do I care? Except that it involves a sequel if the game is good to begin with.
Regardin HW power and whatnot, it's a good thing when well used. That's that. Since I'm far from bein a Nintendo PR dude, I couldn't care less about braggin about specs and the likes even if the Wii was as powerful as the 2 others.
If U fancy so much lookin at the sweat from characters and how real the flames and water effects look, good on U.
To me, titles like Tatsunoko vs Capcom, Disaster, MP3, Overkill and Naruto EX2 look and run well enough on ma HD projector for me to enjoy the experience to the fullest. Yeah sure, Soul Calibur 4 and Street Fighter 4 look better and more detailed but as long as I'm havin a blast and can enjoy a game with close to no loadin time, I'm cool.
And for exemple, as great as it might look I can't help but feel that games like Lost Planet (which I'm a lot into :P) would play way better with the wiimote/nunchuck... but maybe that's just me.
As I said before to me it's all about the fun I get while playin, and havin to focus and realign the sticks on PS360 to aim when in movement does distract me from that, when I know it would just take a second to just point and shoot with the wiimote... add to that the bonus of shots and reload SFX comin out from it.
Some for everybody I guess...

What the heck are you talking about TwEE? are you on drugs or something? My point was, since it went right over your head, is that WII owners are only saying these things because of the kind of system that they have. If the WII was on the same level as the PS3 or Xbox360 then I wouldn't be attacked by the "Nintendo Crusaders" every time I mention it's inferiority. The only reason everyone makes a big fuss every time I say negative things is because somewhere in your mind you know it is true. Its not because i am saying ignorant things, its because i am telling the truth.
Game companies say it all the time. "The WII does not have the capability to handle this game". Which is why you guys don't have Resisdent Evil 5, Street Fighter 4 or Final Fantasy XIII and have to make do. Like I said "Fox and the Grapes". You can't have graphical or power superiority so instead you pretend that it doesn't matter and try to convince everyone else including yourself that you don't care. Don't misunderstand, the name Nintendo used to mean something. But now it is about seeing how cheap you can make a game so you can sell useless mini-games and sell mostly point less hardware. So don't mind me. While I play Killzone 2 in my realistic war environment and use my turrets and robots to lay waste to the enemy, you guys go ahead and play Conduit and watch the pixalated graphics, slow down and glitches throw you out of the experience and keep pretending that it doesn't matter.

Markez I apologize. You wanted to be a retard and I didn't give you a chance. Thank you for pointing out that I shouldn't capitalize the I's that is so on par with what I was saying. I can always depend on idiots like you to point out grammar, spelling and punctuation to try and throw me off, instead of listening to my opinion and making clever rebuttals. As usual when I write everyone always assumes that I hate Nintendo. Not true. I just hate what Nintendo has become. A bunch of money grubbing cheapskates. Next time save your words when you have something interesting to say and stay on topic.

Johnny5,
Really? AI doesn't change with difficulty...well how convient for me that Madworld's review was posted, containing this statement...
"It's the real deal, as evidenced not only by the smarter AI for enemies,"
Many games increase enemy A.I. according to difficulty not all...but still many.
And even if they didn't...who says High Voltage didn't set them like that...the whole point of the demoes and videos were to show features off...not show a death animation.
And who the hell buys an FPS because it has nice physics? Anyone?
And look at the death of the guy who's shot with the electric gun..he flies back as he's shot and his limbs spaz in reaction to be electecuted...how is that terrible physics?
What features is the Conduit missing?
Online game modes? We can say anything...they havn't announced online game modes...we know for sure however, that it has Deathmatch/Team DM/CTF
Come to think of it...it has some unique weapons that PS3/360 FPS's don't have...what about those?
Seriously, I'm not saying it's the greatest game in the world, but it's sure looking to be a hell of an experiance.

I wish my Wii was capable of displaying 1080p on its own, thankfully I've bought an upscaling device.Madworld looks sweet on 1080!
