The rumor mill has been spinning off its axis since Capcom project manager Matt Dahlgren told us that Wii-owning Resident Evil fans will be "very happy, very soon," inciting feverish speculation on what project will instill said happiness. Game Focus' recent interview with Dahlgren might put said speculation to rest -- according to him, fans of Resident Evil Code: Veronica should pay close attention on March 12 for "news you should be very pleased with."
The date that the pleasing announcement will apparently be made coincides with Capcom's San Francisco launch event for Resident Evil 5, a perfect opportunity for the unveiling of a new project -- but is an updated Wii version of Veronica the project everyone was hoping for? To tell the truth, we were holding out hope for a Resident Evil: Survivor remake. Oh, well.

RE2 was classic, it's better left alone, imo. RE:CV was a turd, which is better suited for a remake.

you should ask yourself... Why a remake? poor Wii, home of ports, remakes and shovelware. With games like Conduit and Madworld is a remake really that great of news

and the reason they're probably remaking this is because it was the first resident evil game to have 3d backgrounds so the transition to making it a third person shooter like re4 would take the least time and effort.

RE2 remake seconded! It would be awesome with RE4 controls and graphics. And I remember an interview with the creator of the RE series saying he'd like to go back and redo RE2. CV and RE2 double remake pack?! Here's hoping!

FUCK.
Couldn't they re-make something else, like RE2 or RE3 , or both, for wii with RE4 controls and visuals instead of CVX?
I hated CVX the most out of the entire series. -_-

I've looked at the evidence, there's no reason to think this is going to be a Code Veronica game. It's just gonna be a RE related announcement. Supposedly he gave the same answer to someone who asked about RE0 in another interview. "Wii owners will be happy."

They said something about a month or so ago about people wanting an RE2 remake will want to pay attention or something soon, too.

Take that rumor and couple it with the Code Veronica stuff and all signs are seemingly pointing to Umbrella Chronicles 2.
...Between the reaction to Dead Rising and the Dead Space on-rails reaction, I hope Capcom understands that UC2 is going to be one hell of a nasty hornet's nest they stepped on.

never got the chance to play the original... so yeah, a remake would be a great opportunity to catch up on the never ending RE storyline ^_^

Don't worry, it'll sell more than No More Heroes and Zack and Wiki combined.
Hell...it'll probably sell more than RE5

Man, I hope the Wii can handle a Dreamcast port.
One more port with no upgrades and waggle is exactly what the Wii needs.

Maybe it just features Veronica? Like, an original story with little waggle and open-ended worlds using a completely new engine?
HAHAHAHA I crack myself up.

I thought CV and its special versions / ports / etc were done to death... why does RE2 keep getting the shaft? You'd think that with how popular Leon became that it would've gotten a nice touch-up the way RE1 did. Honestly I just found it more compelling than CV, and I already have CV:X for PS2... sorry Capcom, not getting my money unless it's RE2.

From what I played of Umbrella Chronicles, I thought it wasn't bad but I hope this ain't another light gun game.

Wesker gets quite a bit of screen time in this game, though I'm not sure that yet another Veronica remake is worth getting..

I know I dont exactly understand how the wii fan operates, but I'm pretty sure even they dont want MORE last gen ports. This is becoming laughable and ridiculous.

Well glad to see nintendo cares about the planet. Wouldn't want to spend all that extra time and electricity making a new game.

I would have preferred a completely new spin-off with RE4 controls, maybe something running parallel to RE5.
A Code Veronica remake is...well, while I might get it, it doesnt make me a happy wii owner.

yeah...talk about getting shafted. We didn't even get Tatsunoko vs. Capcom on the wii, and it's supposed to be very, very good (I'm importing it right now, have to figure out how to mod my wii).

Meh, just played it two weeks ago on my Dreamcast. I hope it'll have some new content and runs on the RE4 engine. In any case, I can't see how that would make me "very happy".

All you tards are jumping the gun, I'm sure they wouldn't hype up just the announcement so much if it were a mere port. When Capcom actually -remakes- something, they do it properly. See RE on the Cube which was practically a new game. If they can repeat that performance, then it is definitely something to be very happy about.
