Castle Crashers dev's third game closer to unveiling

The Behemoth, developer of Xbox Live Arcade favorites Alien Hominid and Castle Crashers is preparing to reveal its third -- as of yet unnamed -- title. The dev has been teasing "Game #3" on its blog and Twitter feed for some time, updating the latter today with, "Trailer for game #3 is complete!"

Given that the 2009 Game Developers Conference kicks off in San Francisco in only two weeks' time, we'd say the odds are good that Game #3 will get a proper unveiling -- and title -- during the event. Predictions? Let's hear 'em in comments.

Its totally gonna be PICO! They never finished a true sequel to the first flash pico game thats been on newgrounds prob since its birth. gonna sell like hotcakes.

Pico'd be way to controversial. Plus, I think I remember Dan talking about wanting to do new IPs now, meaning no more Newgrounds stuff and no sequels.

Alien Castle Crashing hominids

Castle Crasher is good shit tho

I thought CC was technically their 4th game, unless Dad 'n Me doesn't count.

No ideas on a guess, but I bet it will have an AH level.

Alien Hominid and Castle Crashers are the only two games released so far by Behemoth. Dan Paladin & Tom Fulp have collaborated on other stuff that appeared on newgrounds, but none of it was released by Behemoth

Are these guys like the Pixeljunk of XBox? I've heard good things about Crashers. Saw the boss battle where you play dodge ball. Awesome.

Not *really.* I mean don't get me wrong The Behemoth and their games are awesome... they're just not artsy like the PixelJunk games. Alien Hominid plays similarly to Contra, and Castle Crashers is very similar to Golden Axe (to oversimplify). I haven't played any of the PixelJunk games personally though, so maybe I am totally off base there? All I know, going from videos, is that I am jealous of said games (as well as the game company games... and everyday shooter, though thankfully that one got a PC release as well)

Okay, can we stop with the poorly-planned names derived from Castle Crashers and Alien Hominid?

But what about Castle Hominid? Or Alien Crashers?

I lean forward in anticipation.

Prediction:
It'll take them six months after release to patch it.

Can't wait for 2012!

I loved the hell out of Castle Crashers. If it is as good but with better timetables on releases and DLC I would be willing to be first in line.

They should call this new game another BROKING ONLINE GAME.

Alien Hominid was an homage to old school shooters
Castle Crashers was an homage to old school beat-em ups
Game 3 will probably be an homage to old school platformers

If so, I can't wait. Platformers are my favorite genre.

They've done mid evil action rpgs, alien shooters. There is only one thing left TO do...Zombie RTS.

As stylish as Alien Hominid was, the difficulty really turned me off. I really loved Castle Crashers, but I hope it's not a sequel to either. I'd really like to see what these guys can do with a different genre.
