Who says you can't teach an Old Snake new tricks? Konami is looking to do just that, as evidenced by a job recruitment page. The page went live on Friday and explains Konami is seeking people to help with "new developments" in the Metal Gear series, specifically for home consoles and mobile devices (more Metal Gear Solid Touch?). The job posting also lists other titles that Konami is working on that aren't part of the Metal Gear series, such as Winning Eleven, Jikkyou Powerful Pro Baseball, and Bemani, as well as new online game content and pachislot machines.
Nothing else is explicitly mentioned, but if you want to try to make sense of the job ad (and can read Japanese), then by all means, click here.

My guess is that it's either a completely new Metal Gear or another weird port like Metal Gear Touch...
I mean, it doesn't say if it's for the PlayStation 3 or not, let's hope it's another exclusive =3

MGS4 was so great that I think it is time for another Splinter Cell first. Then maybe we can have another Metal Gear. They seem to be the Yin and Yang of my favorite Genre.

Splinter Cell? dude Conviction is still 360 exclusive. Anyway, still not sure how well that game is going to perform. Anyway, a new Syphon Filter game is on its way for the PS3 and I can't wait to find out how that would turn out to be. A new MGS game should be announced either at E3 or TGS this year.

Yes we know you actually do pay for 3rd party exclusive content (sometimes), despite what you have your PR guys say.

Notice they say "Metal Gear". The Metal Gear _SOLID_ Series has ended, but they can easily make a new series in the metal gear universe.

Because anything with the metal gear name will bring in large amounts of revenue. There may or may not be a MGS5, but there will be a multitude of Metal Gear titles in the future.

The franchise should never end. As others have intimated just because the solid series is finished doesn't mean we can't have Metal Gear Raiden.

Raiden's story finished as well, I don't think it'd be right to stretch his out any further either. Johnny seems the more likely choice..
But frankly, I'm just trying to balance things out. It doesn't make sense how people can be so quickly to bash Halo for being milked, yet appluad another MGS game :P (the Halo series lends itself far better to different story/character angles)

Metal Gear Sasaki. Seriously. Watch him go from... well, Johnny Sasaki, to grizzled Sasaki, maybe get a codename. Be a badass all the time.
As for being down on Halo sequels but not Metal Gear, I think it's because the Halo games have terrible presentation for the sham of a story they have. MG can be continued to expand on what's there, but it's really hard to say Halo has a story worth continuing unless you take the superfan route and dig around outside the games. If you haven't, you have a bunch of aliens whose species are also their rank working together because of space religion which they never talked about in the first game.
Even then, I think I'd rather have Marathon stuff.

So by everyone you mean people who like MGS 4. Listen, lumping everyone together with a glittering generality just makes you look like a butt hurt fanboy. MS is starting to milk the Halo franchise with all the spinoffs but it's not like EVERYONE has been saying it. I don't really care about the Halo franchise anyway and since Halo 3 was the only one I ever finished I don't have much of an opinion on it. So, you have not puted and boo hoo'd at this alleged hypocrisy all the while exposing yourself as a douche. Congrats. I hear Halo Kart racing is coming along nicely. :p
What you fail to understand if Metal Gear is about the real world more than it is about some fake universe. By that, I mean that the story lines are infinite in Metal Gear because the series was always based around fact based events. It's like an alternate history based off of real events.
If you really think Raiden's story is done for good then you have another thing coming. Just because he said he was never going to leave his son and girl behind doesn't mean he can't be persuaded to go back into duty. In addition to that there is a lot of back story that can be played through in prequels ala Snake Eater.
I wouldn't buy a Metal Gear game with Akiba as the main character. He was a candidate for douche of the year in my book and I don't understand what Meryl saw in him. SPOILER Obviously he saved her life but beyond that he was forgetable at best. I would rather play as Mei Ling or Meryl than I would Akiba. You never know man maybe Sunny will be the next Otacon and Raidens son will be the next Snake.

I say make a spinoff and do a FPS Metal Gear. Why not? I'm not talking about a direct replacement, that would be a no no, but with all the new metal gear games they are planning on making, I think it'd be a profitable decision.

They should give more support regarding Silent Hill Homecomming instead of walking this old road. I need some trophy-support for this title, and ive heard there were a few bugs in the game.
"thank you for your request. We are sorry to inform you that we cannot disclose any informations about future releases. Please check regularly our official homepage for new announcements. Best regards"
Meh, then no Silent Hill this winter. Too bad, i was looking foreward to visiting the old town again.

Thanks for sharing. Now go off and play some Shadowrun in the corner by yourself.

It's possible but I'm wondering what made you make that leap of faith. For all we know it could be a redone version of Snake Eater for the Wii or a port of MGS 4 to the 360.

Metal Green Salad.
But, yeah. I'd like them to not make a Metal Gear SOLID, but a Metal Gear something else. They should bring in new talent and work on a game founded on the basics of the MG and MGS series, but start a whole new storyline.

More Metal Gear because Konami knows they run Silent Hill to the ground,Dance Dance Revolution stop being popular and everyone moved on from the YGO games.
So MGS until your eyes bleed or stops making profit.
(Okay with douchebagery apart SH is still awesome but Sh and MGS are their main series apparently.Who wants a new YGO game...I do ; ;)

Easy.. Metal Gear: Something
Play the role of an unnamed resistance fighter..fight the PMC. Harness the powers of age-old and forgotten machinery like Metal Gear Ray and Rex 2.0 (ret conn, MG Rex was never scrapped).
There you go
- first person
- mecha battles
- spin on FPS, cause mecha FPS has been dead since mech warrior
- the entire battlefield is your toy area
-Destructable buildings/etc/use buildings as cover/etc...
And look it doesn't take much to make a spin off of Metal Gear. They can easily make a Gears of War Styled shooter using PMC or resistance fighters.
An action game involving raiden + sword
Or continue using the same formulae and set the game before Snake eater.
Play as Boss. Or set the game immediately after MGS3 (yes I know PSP games exist, but you can build on that)

I've played EVERY Metal Gear since Solid on the PS1, the PSP titles, all of them. - I'll never forget the day I rented MGS on the PS1 - "hmmm, nothing much here, this looks OK.." - Many years later and I'm still engrossed in the story.
Only one's I didn't like were the Acid's. MGS is not a card game! Portable Ops proved that MGS could be done (brilliantly) on the PSP. Online portable Ops rocked my world!
My favourite series ever, the best thing being how they are based on real life theories. The Patriots is a brilliant idea and as far as i'm concerned "could" actually be closer to reality than most think.
That's why MGS is so timeless, why they cannot make enough of them, and why the stories will always be engaging and exciting.
More MGS and MGO please!!!
Speaking of which, where is the MGO only pack they were speaking about? I want to play MGO but I don't want that bloody 5Gb install file on my almost full HDD.
Note to self, buy 500Gb laptop hard drive...
