I know lots of people are worried about this sequel and perhaps I should be too (Bioshock was easily my game of 2007), but I just can't help but be incredibly optimistic about it.
Levine may not be at the helm, but he seems like the kind of guy who wouldn't let a shitty sequel come out and taint his good name.

The fact that they've already announced a threequel and are making comparisons to Star Wars makes me think "uh oh" ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bioshock#Sequels ).

That was real creepy at first. You, not Sander.
Well both.
And in the end, you both proved yourselves.

I hope they give the gameplay more depth. The first one was pretty damn shallow, which I found very surprising given the team's past games.

Yeah definitely. System Shock 2 is leagues above Bioshock.
But still Bioshock is no slouch, I enjoyed it and it had good atmosphere. Hopefully they don't run out of ideas for the second game. The prospect of returning to Rapture already has me worried. Please keep the quality of the first's story intact.

Completely agreed. More types of baddies. Fewer or at least more varied key card hunts.
And how about an inventory system so I can use the U-build it without making stuff I didn't really need?

I really liked this game a lot! Probably one of the best story lines in FPS! Will they have 3 endings again? What if you get to play after the spliced people take over the submarine? that would be sick!

Oddly enough, your old profile pic was probably more likely to make me want to punch you in the face. This one? I'd shake your hand and introduce you to my mother, as I'm sure she'd think you were a nice young gentleman. And then she'd shove a knife up trident's ass.

Big Sister? It does feel kind of feel like nickel and dimming of one of the most iconic enemies ever created in a video game,in my opinion, but I'm actually curious as to how they're going to plot this into the continuity.
On one hand, you'd have to explain why Big Sisters weren't there along with Big Daddies in Bioshock and on the other, Rapture definitely wasn't capable of creating them after the events of BioShock with the entire city going batshit crazy and trying to kill each other.

Except that 1) They don't grow up in their spliced-up parasite infested forms and 2) where the hell do they get those fancy custom-tailored armors?

Yeah, but weren't they pure ordinary girls at that point if the good ending is considered canon? Why would they just go back to 'that place' and try to restart it/sustain it, rather than letting it die and collapse?
This game is gonna keep me busy for months before it even comes out. Awesome...

No, you wouldn't. You'd have to just put them in the game along with the radical new plasmids and a couple simple plot twists and stick out your hand and wait for $60. Which is people are worried about the new dev team approach and franchise outlook.

Sir Buzz Killington:
Well if the good ending is canon, it's still possible to have them go back. All were shown is glimpses of their future, but not their entire lives. It's possible that the events may have occurred in the gaps we weren't shown. Should be interesting, since the game is supposed to be both a prequel and a sequel.

To be honest I don't get how anything could possibly make sense after what happened at the end (Well... Throughout the entire game really) of the first one (Especially going back to Rapture... lolwut?). Unless it's a prequel, but even then anything new wouldn't make sense since it should have been in the first one... I think a Bioshock sequel was just a pretty bad idea all round
