Halo 3 back on top of Live charts, Halo Wars debuts at #6

Our very personal bestest friend, Major Nelson, has posted Xbox Live activity for the week of March 2nd. Halo continues its never-ending battle with Call of Duty with Halo 3 nudging World at War from the top spot. Call of Duty 4, Gears of War 2 (somehow) and GTAIV round out the top five.

The Halo series receives some backup this week, with newcomer Halo Wars debuting at number six. On top of that, the Halo Wars demo inched up the top ten, moving from the ninth most played to the eighth. FIFA 09 moves up a notch to number 9, shoving Street Fighter IV to the tenth spot.

Considering the limited edition of Halo Wars including the Mythic Map Pack, it might have had something to do with Halo 3 reclaiming the top spot. The big question now is whether or not Halo Wars can maintain its momentum. As one of the few RTS games to make a big splash on consoles, you can bet Microsoft is watching it closely.

I love how you guys make fun of Gears all the time. Don't get me wrong its a good game it's just funny.

Even with the glitches (many of which were taken care of last patch) it's still a damn fun MP game. My favorite (alongside Gears 1 and SF4), but to each their own of course.

its funny how after 2 years Halo 3 is still on top of the 360 library. lol I hope they can make something new. lol

Shows how great of a game it is as well as the replayability and customization options.

it also shows that xbox 360 has not brought anything else out since then 2 beat Halo 3. Gears of War 2 was good looking but mp sucked and it used 95% of 360s cpu. they cant compete with PS3. from what i heard they r thinking of dropping the 720 this year. Sony wont let them use Blu Ray so the 720 will still b DVD format... LOL game ove

dont get me wrong Halo 3 was a great game........2 years ago i was a xbox 360 fanboy until my 9th (yes thats 9) 360 broke ( 5 of them MS "fixed" 4 new) COME 2 THE DARK SIDE and i never had a ps1 or a ps2 but the PS3 is the best smoke that homie

I hope Halo wars does well. it's one of the better constructed rts games i've played in a long while. Lord knows its been better than anything with the CNC label on it since EA bought them out.

Halo wars does have a pretty fun multiplayer. I've been playing RTSs for so a very long time and my computer isn't nearly good enough to run today's RTS. So Halo wars is a nice mix of new while satisfying my need to play RTSs and try to out micromanage and outsmart my valiant opponent.

I'm just worried if its legs will crumple and I'll be left to only play 1 or 2 laggy overseas American games or something...
