This looks like the equivalent of Rise of the Argonauts but set in Mars.

RPG? Looks like an action/adventure game. Another game loosely described as an RPG. You news dudes and game devs just don't get it.

The "RPG-starved bunch" are waiting for what you call JRPGs or Final Fantasy/Dragon Quest clones. Not action-RPGs (WRPGs) or action/adventure games with RPG elements.

I for one, disagree. JRPG seems to have not moved forward with their designs in games. I feel like FF makes the changes and then everyone else follow their lead. I am starting to respect more WRPGs (not the First Person view. At least not on a console) Plus the carrot on the stick approach seems funnier to me then the grind and climb of a Jrpg.

But at this point, either a JRPG or WRPG would be a welcome addition to the serious drought of RPGs in general to the PS3.

Us JRPG lovers don't want the battle systems to "move forward". We don't mind when they change or evolve(for the most part), but they are altogether being abandoned. Replacing menu combat with action combat isn't evolution.

Besides that tedious arguement, most of the RPG croud wants JRPGs. Most of the RPG croud still wants menu based/turn-based combat. We don't care where they are made, East or West, we just want what we had on the PS2 with the power of the PS3.

I want a JRPG with action-styled combat in the vein of Crisis Core and Mana series. No random encounters too.

I'm getting pretty tired of Mars. We need a new Sci-Fi planet...

It'll only be "an extraterrestrial version of Fallout" if they manage to get everything right, including the controls and quests. Otherwise it'll be just another poorly made RPG.

Do you hear me Spiders!? GET THE CONTROLS RIGHT BEFORE YOU DO ANYTHING ELSE. Cripes I'm sick of bad controls.

This is probably going to be more of a Diablo-style RPG than anything, as the developers previously worked on (the mediocre) Silverfall.
