1. How does a flash trailer make a game look 60fps?
2. Nobody cares that you are one of the .001% of the population that can tell the difference or the 1% that cares.
3. The only way any one is going to be able to see how many fps are flipping by is what it says in the press kits...

It is, From what I saw at the Con It starts off with Login Stabbing someone in the Stomach. There was a Guy with his guts all over the play and The intro ends with him stabbing someone in the Head and Ripping someone in tw0. Now the rest of the game was nothing but a Gore Fest. It is really awesome. Its a must buy for even people who hate Wolverine.

Really? That's surprising... I figured a game based off a popular comic book character would have tried to have a "family" rating or something close to it so all the little kiddies could buy it too. Hopefully a demo comes out in the future!

comic books are anything but family oriented, please see everything The Punisher has ever been in

I think the dark knight taught everyone that the darker you go the more interested people will be. Love it or hate it the dark knight has helped push comic based franchises toward the much more interesting side of things and away from family friendly.... IMO.

Hell even your average DC/Marvel comic book has a shit-ton of gore.

that's true too, i just read Dark Avengers two, and near the end, Sentry ripped a lady's head off. Literally, it was on the page not just alluded too, you saw the headless body, and the head in his hand.

So wait,
After Pitch Black, this could be the second movie franchise to pull a "mediocre movie becomes awesome game" stunt?
Nice.

Wow yeah, that looks sick!
Well hopefully as you say Richard, that it is half as good as it looks. In that case, I probably will be buying this game.
Is it just me, or is Licensed games doing better this year already? Riddick and Wanted come to mind right away.

*Head... imploding... Potential for... a good game based on a movie based on a comic... too much.*
But seriously, I may give this the Riddick treatment, where I look forward to, and enjoy the game more than the movie.
And Richard, judging from your over amorous posting, I don't think there is any danger of Wolverine ever deflecting your rocket of love with his claws. I'm not judging.

I've come to accept WOlverine could probably be thrown into the freaking sun and still regenerate, dubious memories and all.
But why the hell did he seem to deflect a rocket back to that guy?

If the part where he tackles the guys and slices the bridge is actual gameplay, like the environments are really that interactive, and not some shitty QTE, this could be the best comic game ever

"While GoW has relied on QTE button presses, Wolverine tries to make these sequences feel more like gameplay. For example, when Wolverine fights a helicopter, players won't have to wait for random buttons to appear on the screen. Rather, they use the same attack buttons to claw away at the windshield. Players have to dodge with the same button as the one in regular combat. Cinematic sequences have their buttons mapped to mirror regular gameplay sequences. It certainly feels a lot more natural than God of War."

Yea that trailer looks awesome, i wasn't taking much notice of this game, but now its on my radar. Stuff like the graphics and animations look very good, lets just hope game play is as awesome.
The best bit is its released only a couple of days before my birthday.

I hope that this (and the movie) turn out to be really, REALLY, good.
Also, is it just me or is the frame rate on Joystiq videos terrible? I had to go finish watching this over at Game Trailers and it ran smoothly over there.

I'm surprised that no one corrected you on assuming Wolverine has an adamantium skeleton.
The adamantium was attached to his already existing skeletal structure, making it an exo-skeleton.
Before the procedure, Logan had claws of bone, which is revealed in a comic-book saga that involves Magneto seperating the bone and metal.

i was always worried when X-men 2 came out that people would think that wolverine wasn't a mutant at all, and that stryker gave him his claws and healing powers

@Kirat: I hated that they retroactively gave Logan bone claws in the comics. Before that storyline, it was repeatedly said that the claws were mechanical, and that they were added as part of the procedure that grafted adamantium to his bones. I even remember an issue where Logan was trying to go through an airport metal detector and put his forearm in the x-ray machine to show the security personnel that he had metal grafted to his bones. The art (by Marc Silvestri, I believe) showed mechanized components surrounding the claws retracted in Logan's arm. I think there were other instances of the internals of the claws being shown as mechanical as well.
End of nerd rant.

I am really getting tired of the slow-mo thing to make it look epic. I mean, The Watchmen used the whole slow-mo thing so much that if felt like I was walking in slow-mo feeling like a cheesy epic FAIL.

they really didn't use it that much. It was in the prison fight, when ozymandias fought his assassin, and i cant really think of anything else

Well, actually.. from what I remember... *spoilers*
Opening scenes
Credits
Introduction of the funeral scene
Sally's flashback: the group photo scene took place in slow-mo, complete with slow-talking characters. :P
Intermittent shots during Jon's funeral flashback: Comedian fighting the Viet Cong with a flamethrower, Dr. Manhattan exploding Viet Cong soldiers.
Intermittent shots during Dan's funeral flashback: rioters throw molotov at Archie, Comedian jumps from Archie, Comedian shoots rioters.
Dan throws Comedians badge into grave
A very small portion of Moloch's flashback were shot in slow-motion
Rorschach walks down a street while being propositioned.
Dan and Laurie fight thugs in the alleyway during interview
Much of Jon's flashbacks on Mars are in slow-motion - he and Jane at the fair, her buying him a beer, having sex, the accident, exploding criminals, falling in love with Laurie, Jane's jealousy.
The assassination attempt against Adrian.
Rorschach flaming the cops, running from bullets.
Rorschach remembering his mum pulling tricks, savaging the bullies, dogs fighting over leg bone.
Laurie crashes through ceiling; turns from explosion, creating a sort of cool effect with her hair whipping around.
Laurie and Dan having sex.
Laurie and Dan fighting convicts in the prison.
Parts of Laurie's flashbacks on Mars.
Umm.. I think that's it. The fights at the end were the opposite - there wasn't any gore, so the shots instead emphasised Ozymandias's speed.
Don't get me wrong though, I loved the slow-mo. It doesn't simply focus the gore, in many ways it felt like another way of venerating the comic, by lengthening the amount of time your eyeballs spent on shots, as if meditating on them. It lent the flashback scenes the dream-like quality they needed to stand out in memory. The only, ONLY times I thought it was gratuitous was the badge in the grave, and Laurie's hair whip in the burning building. But having said that, it's ridiculous to say it was "barely used".
*This may not be the exact continuity of the scenes, I used the book as a reference.
