Here in Merka, we all know that boobs are the Devil's fruit. They hang from the tree of knowledge and tempt good men into wicked acts. We must protect our men from themselves! Of course, we must respect their right to privacy, so we can't extend the police state into their homes (despite our best efforts), which is why we give them guns, to protect themselves from the mammary menace.

China dislikes animated skeletons because it's a religious matter. They see them as unnatural and such. Most of china is buddhist so they dislike things that are unnatural in a spiritual sense and it's a desecration of the body.
Japan has a similar problem with decapitations. Even though most are atheist the buddhist moral lingerings say that decapitation is unnatural and desecrates the body.

I don't think it's just the Buddhist moral lingerings that say decapitation is unnatural and desecrates the body. I think that's basically just a fact. Unless there is some religion where having your head cut off is considered sacred? Maybe Aztec?

Anyway, what's weird is not that China has a problem with skeletons, but that China DOESN'T have a problem with so many other things in World of Warcraft. Picking out skeletons and only skeletons as unholy in World of Warcraft is like watching a Quentin Tarantino movie and complaining because a character said "crap."

But anyway, that at least explains why Blizzard won't give us our Pandas.

Good for anonymous Chinese, but I don't see what entitles them into believing this for everyone. I'm sure some people don't care, or think opposite. It is all just government control over their people's freedom.

Like an entire nation of people is only allowed to believe and think a single thing.

Anam: Skeletons are just particularly taboo. World of Warcraft is honestly not that offensive to most people. Blood is minimal, and despite some of the subject matter the graphics are pretty light hearted.
But to Chinese culture desecrating the dead would be like having a child rapist/murderer as a boss. Americans would be outraged (ok not all but many). It's just not something you do.

wcarnation: Remember communist regime. That is EXACTLY what they believe.

Please stop speaking like you know what you're talking about.

There was absolutely no taboo against decapitation in any Sinitic culture. In fact it was a fairly common capital punishment, and in Japan even a form of honor. The most common form of seppuku involved the traditional harakiri stomach-cutting, and at the moment of greatest pain, the samurai would lean his head forward and bare his neck for his assistant to cut, so he could die with honor. The finest assistants were able to leave a flap of skin so the head didn't completely drop so as to shame the samurai.

Samurai even perfumed their heads in case they were ever killed in battle. The winner would take his head as a trophy, and the samurai would clean and scent it before battle so it wouldn't offend his victor.

So, really, you're full of it. Bottom line is China is a conservative country. You can cry about this all the want, but I find it unusual that no one points fingers at any other countries who happen to be conservative. Americans are strangely non-judgmental about how puritanical we are about sex, or how strict Germans are about any kind of violence. Or the UK about any sort of violence depicted towards children.

This whole "no skeleton" thing is really surprising to me. I did QA testing on Perfect World International, a Chinese-produced MMO game. There are many undead skeleton creatures in the game. You can also be a Panda warrior and get killed. It's an immensely popular game too.

Does this mean that If anyone ever goes to war with China, all they have to do is drop a few skeletons on their cities and watch them panic?

They dislikes the skeleton because they call the skeleton superstitious.

Indeed, they banned a lot of things 'cause they're not good for children. We don't actually have a age restriction for games, that means kids could play any games (and they still think games are for children), so they banned all violent and sexual contents, including those related to religion. (like, skeleton you see)

This lack of restriction also cause many young kids to get addicted to online games, and they call the online games the evil one.

I can see the points in their policies, but it's so unfair to us adults. I just wish that one day the government will understand that some games are NOT for kids and us adults also need that "childish" entertainment. But this is impossible in my generation, maybe my grand grand kid will have a better gaming environment.
