Nope, you are not the only one. Now let's just hope that Sony America doesn't drop the ball on this one and let MS snag it.

There has never been a NIS game on microsoft's systems. And I doubt there ever will be. Their games simply do not fit the xbox's target audience.

It's about friggen time they come out with a Turn Based RPG... Elemental Arms or whatever it was called was the best to come out yet, and it wasn't worth a rental.

Valkyria Chronicles is a nifty blend of turn-based and 3rd person shooter. It's a strategy RPG, though.

If you decide you want it, try online shopping, you most likely won't find it at retail any more.

Koei? I thought NIS was responsible for the Atelier series? Whatever, this better come out in the U.S.; NISA, I'm talking to you.

Actually, Nippon Ichi is only responsible for publishing the titles. They were developed by Gust in Japan, published by I think Banpresto before they were absorbed into Namco Bandai. In the US, Nippon Ichi publishes Gust titles. In Europe, Koei picks them up. It's pretty convoluted, but the end result is that we get niche RPGs, so everyone wins!

there is a turn based RPG for the PS3....

On your turn Purchase System and wait for Sony's turn to start publishing more.

My patience Skill has just leveled up.

I love Atelier, but there are a few mistakes with this story.

First off, Atelier is made and published by Gust in Japan. Gust is the developer of Atelier, Ar Tonelico, Mana Khemia, etc.

For the U.S., NIS America has published them to come stateside (they never developed, just translated and published into English). Most of them I believe were brought to Europe courtesy of Koei.

Anyway, this is awesome news because I really like Atelier Iris, Mana Khemia, and Ar Tonelico. There is usually a new Atelier game released every June, and they normally get announced a few months in advanced, so I'm expecting it to be released soon.

Enchanted Arms has been the best, you are right about that. I would like to argue about it's worth, but I am yet to break it back out for a second playthrough. Oh well, let's hope that this one comes to the US, and soon.

I don't like turn-based much, but a new rpg is always welcome. Let's hope it's more "next-gen" than X-Edge and Disgaea 3 at least

Lyner,

Banpresto co-develops and helps to publish the Ar tonelico titles in Japan. But for the Atelier series, Gust self-publishes.

pgann,

Cool! Thanks for the clarification. Whatever way you slice it, though, I'm definitely a fan of Gust's work and this is great news for me, as a PS3 owner =)

Fix your article. Nippon Ichi doesn't develop these games. The developer is Gust. NIS America just does localization on them.
