X3F TV -- XBLA in Brief: Crystal Defenders, Peggle

This week, 360 fans get both Crystal Defenders and Peggle. As luck would have it, both games are actually pretty good. Two good games in one week? What have we done to deserve this? Of course, they aren't free -- they're 800

Hehe, great commentary, had some good laughs.

IMHO both of these would sell better at a cheaper price point of, say, 400 points each... especially for Crystal Defenders being a cellphone game - 800 seems a little high

I feel so used that richard mitchell has just single handedly added microsoft points to my account and convinced me to buy peggle. The guy should be sellling used cars for christ's sake

Yeah, for 10 bucks you can have your pick between 2 far superior tower defense games on PSN. 10 bucks for Crystal Defenders seems far overpriced.

Considering it's $5 on regular iPod, I agree.

Great episode, I've heard so much Peggle love (and not once anyone speaking badly about it) that even though my 360 is currently being repaired I just bought it sight unseen off marketplace.xbox.com.

Crystal Defenders is addictive as hell.
So many cases of 'just one more round'.

but evil at the same time.. I had 4 plays in a row & each time my score dropped. since I paid for it.. I haven't been a map.. something always makes it through.. :\

these are both pretty awesome games, i'd buy peggle but dont have enuff to buy 1600 points only enuff for 1500, and i need 800 for mythics when it comes out. =[

Am I the only one who thinks it should have been months of arcade? I mean, eight week straight, 10 titles of high quality, and soon after we will recieve the first entry of Wallace and Gromit. Shortly thenafter (2 Months), we will get the second episode. We're also getting Sam and Max, and hopefully Strong Bad.

great video, brought up an interesting point, should i get the ds peggle, which is portable, or the xbla one, which has achievements, and leaderboards.

nice, Peggle Nights is awesome on the PC so I am thinking about getting the original on my 360.

You know I have Peggle Nights on PC and I never knew the ultra fever! wow, I always tried to score with a lot of balls, haha yes balls. Nice review vid, I'm prob getting this Peggle for the multiplayer!

I actually play more Gamecube games on the system than Wii games and on top of those I play more Virtual Console games than those combined.

Just to let your readers know "300 levels" in Crystal Defenders is equal to 20 waves per map. They are counting each waves as a "level".

I just bought the DS version of Peggle last night (I've had Crystal Defenders for the iPhone for a couple months now). The thought of Achievements has me seriously considering buying it AGAIN. This is going to be one of those games where eventually I'm forced to give it to my mother just so that I can move on to something else.

Folks, THIS is why casual gaming is not a bad thing.

This weeks releases are simply said amazing.
Both are outstanding games well priced and well sized.
My gf has taken control of my xbox and spends her time in peggle land.
For once I agree with everything you said this time Rich. Outside of the releases this week the segment was very entertaining to watch. Just please tell me you actually bought Peggle.
It is sad to see that only 500 or so people have purchased Crystal Defenders thus far. A game like that needs our support fanboys, anni up.
Fantastic additions to my arcade for sure. #93 and 94=p
