EA formally announces Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10
In a surprise to only dead people, EA has announced a new installment in the Tiger Woods franchise, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10. Releasing for every console under the sun (sans the DS), Tiger Woods 10 will not only be the first title in the series to feature the number 10, but also the first to include the U.S. Open, a USGA championship, and the USGA's Rules of Golf. EA isn't stopping there with the firsts, either, as the game will also include real-time weather, allowing the game's weather to match "that of the current weather conditions." Does that mean we won't be able to play during a lightning storm?
This year's Tiger Woods will also feature a "broadcast style presentation," which EA reveals includes "Instantaneous updates" from new commenting duo Scott Van Pelt and Kelly Tilghman, from ESPN and The Golf Channel, respectively. Oh, and in case you had forgotten, the Wii version will use MotionPlus.

Is too much to ask that someone bring back Outlaw Golf? All other golf games bore the shit out of me. I want a stripper caddy and a comedian doing the commentary.

Two things of note here:
1) The Wii version will be the definitive version of this game. That is fact, not opinion.
2) Of all the systems to not release a game for, why in gods name would you make it be the best selling system (potentially) ever???

They swing this right, and that Wii version will be THE definitive golf game, period.

Correction * THE definitive golf game WITHOUT stripper caddys.

Wow, the wii fanboys went over their talking points before entering this thread I see...

el serpiente,
Nothing to do with being a Nintendo fanboy. The developers themselves claim the Wii version to be the closest thing to being perfect yet.

"Shenkman believes that while EA always strives to make the perfect Tiger Wii game, this year the developer has come closer than ever before."

I'll get it when they finally add Augusta National for the Masters.

Bring back McCord and Feherty!

Amen! I will NEVER buy another TW Game until they get rid of that chick announcer. I'm not sexist, she just SUCKS! Seriously, just bring the CBS Sports crew in all ready.

Shocking

Hell, I'm dead and even I saw this coming.

I only just got '09 for the 360 after not playing the series since '05 on the PS2, so you won't see me rushing out the door to pick up '10. But the weather conditions has me intrigued.
I do miss Feherty and McCord, though usually when they called an errant shot they were as amusing as they were annoying. Good and bad.
And while Wii Sports Golf was fun, I don't have much desire to play a Tiger Woods game in such a fashion. Especially when I know exactly what to do with the left analog and I just want to play and get a round finished quickly.

I've played both the PS3 version and the Wii version of both 08 and 09 and honestly, I prefer the PS3 versions. The Wii version is fun with friends, especially with a few beers... it's basically like hitting the links while its crap outside, but honestly, if I'm going to be playing by myself, I'm not going to swing my arms like an idiot. If I wanted to do that, I would go outside and do it for real with something like... oh I don't know, a real golf club?
