I think Sessler was determined not to enjoy this game, simply because it didn't innovate. The impression I get from him is that if a game, no matter how fun and enjoyable on its own merits, isn't innovative or revolutionary in comparison to its contemporaries, it's archaic trash and not worth picking up. As for me.. they could start making side-scrolling 2D arcade brawlers again and I wouldn't give a flying funk, as long as its fun. Innovation is awesome, but if we come to expect it, any innovation we receive just feels mediocre even if its an impressive feat.

G4 - the only ones with guts enough to say that Capcom is stubbornly stuck in the past with ancient controls. GOOD FOR YOU SESSLER!!!

IGN - still rolling over and taking it up the rear; don't rock the boat and your won't end up like Jeff Gerstmann. They never met a high profile release they didn't like...Ryan Geddes (who I actually like) said "the controls are beginning to feel dated for an action game." Beginning? He also liked the friendly AI. Overall poor review. Poor critique.

Maybe I'm nuts but I hated Re4 with a passion, but I love Re5. All RE4 was to me was a giant esscort mission....re5 single player the person tagging along with you does something....
