Charlotte Parker, a cutscene animator at Traveller's Tales, has confirmed to VG247 that both
Lego Harry Potter and
Lego Indiana Jones 2: The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull are on the way. "But they're not confirmed," Parker said. "I can't really talk about them." That means, of course, that Parker didn't provide any details of release plans for either game, including dates or platforms.
Parker's
CV reportedly listed the two
Lego series game titles, though they were removed. According to
GamesIndustry.biz, the CV also listed work on a demo of a
Hobbit game, intended to be pitched to Peter Jackson.

I want a lego Gears of War.
MowDownJoe @ Mar 13th 2009 10:15AM
So, we're going to jump over sharks in nuke-launched fridges?
Levi @ Mar 13th 2009 10:16AM
Give us a franchiseless Lego game where building stuff is actually a large part of the game plz...
...Lego tower defense? Lego Rampart style? Online deathmatch Lego with a level builder?? It could have themed matches, like space deathmatch, pirate deathmatch, explorer deathmatch... They'd just have to call it something kid-friendly, like blockmatch or something... And there wouldn't be blood or gibs, but they would just fall apart into different Lego pieces...
...I'm 23 and I would totally play these games. But not Lego Harry Potter....
...yeah, I know, it's for kids XD
Greg Lewis @ Mar 13th 2009 12:14PM
I agree. A straight up pirate or kinght or something lego.
What about a Lord of the Rings trilogy Lego game?
Markez @ Mar 13th 2009 1:01PM
I think one of the older ones that I never played but always sounded intriguing to me was Lego Island? Sounded more sandbox and creative than what we've been treated to thus far this gen.
flameofdoom666 @ Mar 13th 2009 10:25AM
I want a Lego Harry Potter... really bad
jeff @ Mar 13th 2009 10:29AM
What is this Crystal Skull? Was that in Temple of Doom?
Dave @ Mar 13th 2009 11:40AM
The Crystal Skull was the last in the series of Indiana Jones movies. It attempts to argue that one can survive a nuclear blast by hiding in a fridge, and that any pre-Columbian indigenous American cultures of any sophistication must have had help from aliens.
Markez @ Mar 13th 2009 12:11PM
Dave forgot to mention it's also a horribly, horribly, shatty, shatty movie.
Lone Starr @ Mar 13th 2009 1:46PM
Guys, he was joking.
jeff @ Mar 13th 2009 3:25PM
He wasn't joking. He was pretending.
Markez @ Mar 13th 2009 10:42AM
Wow, this screenshot looks like they're taking the graphical style in a new direction!
Magresda @ Mar 13th 2009 10:47AM
Lego Harry Potter actually makes sense. As opposed to Indiana Jones.
bsjunkhere @ Mar 13th 2009 10:49AM
Way to spray up your source for no good reason.
pete @ Mar 13th 2009 10:51AM
Legoverflow.

If I had told you that "Jumping the Shark" is generally used in reference to selling out, I am sure you would have corrected me anyway. This is how I know it and have seen it use on teh inter-webz0rz. I also know it had a different meaning before being used online. Do I pass now? I can link you the Wikipedia article if you like.
Back to the original subject.. I will flex my consumer muscle and not buy this game or any Lego game, or Legos, or go to Lego Land. Disagree with me, tell me I am stupid, or ask me why I even post here, I expect folks on the web to disagree with me. Its like Pizza Topping ya know? Its an open forum, and my opinion. Yay.
Kiteless @ Mar 13th 2009 10:57AM
OK, Shark is officially jumped. Was bad enough that they made like 91 different versions of the same Lego Starwars games. :(
Bagels PSN:WolfLogic @ Mar 13th 2009 11:00AM
3, actually. 1,2, both together updated and improved.
Jeepers Creepers 712 @ Mar 13th 2009 11:04AM
... do you even know what jumping the shark means? Or are you just repeating net slang you've heard to sound cool? Because what you're complaining about is over saturation of brand, which has absolutely diddly poop to do with the phrase "jumping the shark".
Kiteless @ Mar 13th 2009 11:49AM
Jeepers: Hey it's cool. Low rank me. Yes I know what Jump the Shark means. It is from an episode of Happy Days when “The Fonz” literally jumps sharks on a water ski to try and get ratings back. On short, no your not smarter than everyone else. We know what it means too.
Bagels: Its cool, you wanna play the same game over and over again, its your money. I think "91" and the word "like" in front of it should have been an obvious exaggeration, but this is the inter toobs after all. But yes, 3. I played the first and 3rd one but this was the final nail in the coffin for me with anything Starwars and I think this is where the bitterness really comes from.
I guess in hind sight, games like this fit Lego well. They have been doing other IP's in lego form for years and years. Lego's had to be my favorite toy when I was a kid. As a kid in a poor family, I was lucky to ever get them and it was never the cool sets, just blocks. Sometimes I got wheels! Wwwwoooaaahh!
Jeepers Creepers 712 @ Mar 13th 2009 11:54AM
I didnt ask if you knew what it was referencing. I asked if you knew what it meant, which you still failed to explain. I'm not trying to say I have more knowledge than "teh internetz".
Just pointing out that you have no idea what you're talking about.
Bagels PSN:WolfLogic @ Mar 13th 2009 11:56AM
Overexplaining backpeddler is overexplaining.
Markez @ Mar 13th 2009 12:09PM
I really dug the horribly glitch ridden Star Wars one they first put out on the DS, then I lost all interest, even after a few XBL demoes.
Once I tried LEGO Indiana Jones co-op with someone for awhile, however, I changed my tune. That was a lot of fun.
Markez @ Mar 13th 2009 12:16PM
I knew exactly what he meant by jumping the shark when I read it, so it's possible you don't own the rights to dictate what it means, and what it doesn't. It's commonly understood as once something has reached its peak and is going to decline in value going forward which to me seems perfectly apt in this case. Hey Jeepers, that phrase is net slang? Really?
Clearly, there hasn't been 91 versions, but to the average joe it sure seems like there have been a lot.
Good lawd, you two, it's Friday morning, why don't you fucking relax.
Bagels PSN:WolfLogic @ Mar 13th 2009 2:21PM
It's friday afternoon now, and I'm just as calm as I was when i first posted my calm, 1 sentence posts. Anyone else think the term "jump the shark" has jumped the shark?
Snowblind @ Mar 13th 2009 11:21AM
More Indy is an odd choice, I don't see how they can make a full game based on the Crystal Skull. I would have prefered that simply as an additional DLC level. It also means there's a pretty good chance of there being a "complete saga" version of Indy, so I don't really see the point of buying this sequel.
Although Harry Potter will have the same problem, as they'll likely seperate the movies into two games and then release a combined version.
NaeemTHM @ Mar 13th 2009 12:10PM
Sweet Jesus these guys know how to milk a premise. What's next ? LEGO Requiem for a Dream?
MarkHawk @ Mar 13th 2009 12:12PM
Hope this guy doesn't lose his job...
Kiteless @ Mar 13th 2009 12:14PM
Bagels: Am I required to just be a jerk online if someone disagrees with me? Can’t a guy open up a little? Learn a little? I am trying to talk about this in a sensible way, share a little. I don't hate you; I just disagree with you, think you are a wrong, and smell bad. But this is the internet, so maybe I am supposed to tell you to F-Off instead? You are clearly better at this than I am.

I never played the other Lego games, but Lego Harry Potter actually makes sense, and is a great source for some parody. I would definitely be interested in picking that one up, though I suppose it depends on how many of the stories they were to do in the first game; judging by the other Lego games, they'd probably split the whole series into three different games, which would definitely not fly well with me.
