Same here, such is why I love Gears 1 & 2 so much. Keeps me in touch with my cousin, who I played through 1 with split-screen when we lived together, and now co-op over live since we both moved to different states. ITS A GIANT WOOORM

GAH!

Man, I feel like I should just abandon the idea of finishing SR2, starting Fallout 3, and just pick up a used copy of the first game. Had a hard time motivating myself to hack vids lately :P XBL demo for Bioshock I think was the best demo I've played to date.

Is SR2 Saints Row 2? If so, do you think it's better than GTA IV? I'm asking because I haven't played it and my local Target has it on clearance for $30.

In my opinion Bioshock is one of the best games this generation and maybe one of the top 10 of all time. It's one of the few games that actually freaked me out and had me on pins and needles. You should give it a run sometime soon as I think you can get a new copy for around $20 or so and I'm sure a used for less than that.

As for Fallout 3 it's also one of the best games in recent memory. I can't speak for the 360 or PC versions but the PS3 version did have a few bugs in it that were annoying. To be honest I usually don't care for Bethesda games (blasphemy I know) but this one really mixed the RPG and shooter elements perfectly. Just prepare to get lost for at least 40 hours.

I wouldn't say it's *better* than GTAIV, but rather that it's different. I enjoy screwing around more in SR2, like the activities, the missions, the radio, etc. Whereas I'd sink hours into GTAIV in a single sitting I'm finding myself playing SR2 more often but in much smaller spurts. Both games are way too easy & casual for what I'd like in that kind of game, but I'm liking SR2 quite a but. Wish I wouldn't have bought it at full retail, but eh, no big deal.

I just hate it when game developers tout it as a big new feature.
It's like a car company saying their new models will feature "round wheels".

I know. That and when every company talks about how amazing it is that their game allows you to be good or evil. Like that hasn't been in practically every game since Knights of the Old Republic (and still a decent number of games before that).

Co-op could be a ton of fun as long as I can have my exceptional single player experience as well.

And they better have something just as iconic as the Big Daddies or I'm gonna be pissed.

Agreed. Not all games need co-op. What I'm really looking for in a BioShock game is the single player experience. Part of what made the first game great was the feeling of being alone apart from the helpful voice in your ear. Having a sidekick in the first game would have lessened the experience.

Please developers, don't forget that there is room for co-op, multiplayer, and single player games. Not all games need co-op or multiplayer. The first BioShock is proof of that.

@John Perkins;
in my opinion, the first bioshock would have benefited greatly from co-op play. not necessarily split-screen because that would take away from the individual experience, but at least co-op over live.
co-op is a great addition to any game, regardless of the quality of the single player experience.

"a private investigator sent to Rapture to find a girl abducted by the Big Sister."

What? If that many people know about it then surely it would have been investigated by several other people first... this wouldn't by any chance happen to be the April edition of GameInformer would it?

Kind of a shame we'll miss EGM's yearly April fool's shenanigans. Oh well.

I doubt the original covered all of rapture.

There's that opening scene when you first enter the sub and dive when you see all of Rapture. Looked like a pretty big damn place.

If it's true definitely looking forward to it, although I hope they don't remove the Big Daddies from the game completely as I looked forward to encountering them in the first.

1. I posted it to show that the concept of Big Sisters has been around for a while, so everyone freaking out about the idea of no more Big Daddys would chill out.

2. Well, I'm glad to hear they're on top of their shit. I found the Kotaku link via a quick google search about Big Sisters, hence why I posted it instead of the Joystiq article. Both articles cover the same info, as you said, so no reason not to use it.

3. Screw you, I was just sharing info and I'll take it wherever I find it. C'mon don't post crap comments on this site.

My guess would be that the "private eye" turns out to be something other than "ordinary". And a military finding it, especially after all the turmoil, isn't very surprising.

Hrm.. I'm hesitant. These new features sure are making the game sound that much more generic and that much less of a -shock game. The best thing about the series was the stories, and I'm worried that'll get tossed by the wayside in favor of big action.
