Ali in his prime wasn't slow, but Tyson in his prime had insane hand speed too. I don't think it's disingenuous to say that Mike Tyson probably was faster (although I think he'd lose on sanity and overall ability scales).

especially since tyson is an "in-boxer" his only burst of speed was to actually get closer to you.

I want it!!! Too bad they didn't use Lampley, Kellerman and Steward for the commentary. That would have been epic! Fuck Howard Letterman.

OK JIM! Larry Merchant's hacky long-winded monologues are excruciating. But I hate Jim Lampley just as much!! Every time he's beaming at his co-commentator while they are talking I want to smash his face. He's so phony and his tendency to exaggerate the action in the fight you're watching is very annoying. I also don't like Kellerman and his constant sports nerd references to "classic" fights from the 50's that 99% of the audience won't get.

I liked Joe Tessitore in the last one. I'd love to see Teddy Atlas in there too. Teddy is the man!

Personally I like Lampley, Kellerman and Lennox L the most though they're hardly ever pared together. I just know they wouldn't put Lennox in there because of the accent. Atlus is great as well, but that FUCKING LARRY MERCHANT and his pointless endless rants.

Explain to me why Larry Merchant always gets a personal zoomed in close-up when its time for one of his long "winded and biased speeches". As many a fighter have told him, "your not a boxer, you don't know whutchu talkin' about..."

-Floyd Mayweather
-Mike Tyson

Fuck Merchant!

@Lord - lol, no doubt. I think the camera zooms in so the viewer can't see the people that rush in to help support him. I respect the guy and don't mind his infight commentary, but his one-on-one interviews are killer!

I would love to see Kellerman in there or Mr Fri Night Fights Joe T - heck even a little Teddy Atlus would be ok. : )

The fight night series is by far the best EA sports product and I cannot wait for this game. Here's to hoping that the achievement structure stays the same. I hate 'fetch quest' type achievments.

amen. the old game in certain parts was borderline photorealistic due to it's gritty, hazy look. This just looks like really sexed up smooth CG. Waxy is the perfect word.

The game looks great. Instant buy. Though the graphics are great, you can still tell its a game. I'm wondering what it is that they need to do to make it look real.

I don't like Mayweather either, but Hatton's not in his league. Regarding the gameplay, I am thrilled to see the parry gone. It was incredibly unrealistic. I like that you will have to think logically about spacing and reach. Now if they just up the somewhat sluggish pace that pervaded all weight classes in Round 3 they will have the best Fight Night yet.

Mayweather does what many fighters do to promote the fight in their own way...
Act and dress flashy accompanied by trash talk.

Too bad Hatton lost his cool, or maybe that's all he had in him fighting the agile Mayweather but, I do recall him rushing into a hook that carried his head into the turn buckle. Classy way to lose, I thought i was watching the WWE for a second. Ohh the noise & laughter that followed....L O L.

I got a little tired of the same two intros to fights in Round 3.

Waxy? I mean those shiny reflections off their body are from the sweat and water on their bodies....all those lights from above, i mean if you ever watch PPV boxing with a big arena and the whole 1,505,498 lights above the ring for a big event in HD, i repeat HDTV...and PPV...and lights..am i redundant yet? but seriously i think its not overdone, i agree with the gritty look comment but i think the individual muscles and what not make up for the "flat" no textured skin from FNR3, either way i dont even care about the graphics, FNR3 was easily one of my favorite games. i still have a picture of me making custom thumb gloves (gauss and medical tape wrapped around them) because the grip on the analog sticks ripped my skin apart thats how much i played it. gameplay>graphics

Seeing Round 3 playing on a LCD kiosk at CompUSA is what sold me on getting an XBox 360. I was blown away by the visuals and fluid fighting. I can't wait to get Round 4. Will Tyson have a biting mechanic?

Exactly, when Tyson was under Cus D'amato's(sp?) tutelage, he was a machine. "100lbs of pressure from punches" as said by sports media in those days, not to mention a mean bob and weave. Many fighters that did brave being hit by punching or counter punching, Tyson dodged only to follow with staggering blows.
Foot work? No
Slow? No

So i agree.
