Here at Joystiq we hear a lot of rumors, but few that point and click on our hearts like news that Bone may be making a return visit to video games. This according to trade magazine Publishers Weekly, which casually mentioned a new Bone game while listing the final colorized take on Jeff Smith's renowned series amidst March's top selling comics.
While unconfirmed, the publication notes the game will be released this spring, leaving us more than a little skeptical given that it's already March and nothing has yet been announced. Even so, we've reached out to developer Telltale Games for more information. Besides, since Telltale cast aside Phoney, Smiley and Fone Bone in 2006 for a lagamorph and a macrocephalic boxer, our gaming habit has been sorely lacking. Though mostly in stupid, stupid rat creatures.

Huh? Is Bone ending? I haven't been following comics for years now.

It ended a few years ago. It was a very nice ending. They've been re-releasing colored versions in chapters via Scholastic.

What's the deal with this comic, I've heard a lot about it but never read any of it. Is it really funny, or what?

It's basically what happens when cartoon characters stumble into Middle Earth, mixing humor and epic fantasy. That's why it's popular.

"coming in this Spring"? Shouldn't it be "coming this Spring" or "coming in the Spring of this year, our Lord, two-thousand and nine Anno Domini"?
Just throwing it out there...

Both the wife and I adored this comic series and will definitely pick this up. I would like them to also release it on WiiWare so we both don't have to crowd around my computer.

I prefer the black and white version since that is how they were when I first started reading the series. Either way, I highly recommend picking up the complete one volume edition.

Hope this is true. The first two episodes were good, but too short and too easy, and really felt like a warmup for the later episodes (much like how the book reads). Telltale has definitely learned a lot since The Great Cow Race was released, I'd like to see them apply the experience to some of the darker, later chapters of Bone.

I bought the Bone: One Volume Edition a few months back. Loved it. Such a great series and probably one of the single best non super-hero comics ever made.

Considering Telltale Games is working on Wallace and Gromit, and that they've never released two products in the same timeframe....
I wouldn't expect a new Bone until after W&G. And I'm suspecting that they'd return to Sam and Max for another season before Bone....
