Club Nintendo Platinum members getting early look at DSi

Are you a Club Nintendo Platinum member? The most dedicated Nintendo fans have registered their numerous Nintendo games and have earned VIP status. These faithful are getting rewarded yet again in an "exclusive" event meant specifically for Club Nintendo members. Platinum members that live near a event locations will gain entry to a special DSi event where fans can preview the upcoming system weeks ahead of its US release.

The DSi isn't a revolutionary upgrade from the previous DS Lite, but we're glad to see Nintendo rewarding its fans in new and unique ways. We hope this event is but the first of a long line of events planned for Club Nintendo elite.

@Andrew Does this go by your address that you have in your Club Nintendo Acct. Settings? In other words, if you aren't 'near' an event they don't even give you an invite? If so, how close do you have to be? I'm at platinum status but I don't even see anything about this on the Club Nintendo page.

I have mine set to my home in Indiana so i got mine, but why wouldn't you set up your account to your home address? anyway the nearest event near me is in Louisville KY, so i have like a 2-hour drive to get there lol

and it's exclusive so u need to receive the email to see the page, it isn't on the club nintendo page

Ahh, thanks for the info. I do have my home address on there now but just recently put the info in(last week if i remember). I just didn't know what they'd do for people who might not have put in an address yet. Still no email so maybe I'm too far away from any event. Thanks again!

Well, we got one going on here in salt lake city, UT on March 22nd. Pokemon Platinum release date.

Mine (HB, CA) says the 22nd as well. I think it might be the same day for all the events.

I'd love to go, but honestly the upgrade isn't that huge from the DS lite (I still have a DS phat), and I've played with an import DSi a couple times and I'm not really that impressed. Maybe if some awesome DSiWare games come out down the road I'll reconsider.

Club Nintendo still doesn't give me credit for the dozens of games I've registered, only a couple are worth any points. Still needs vast improvement, like more back-compatibility, and more stuff to get with the points.

Did you take the surveys for each game? I noticed that crap only worked for me in Google Chrome...

Is club nintendo working now? I gave up after a month of trying.

I'm not getting an invo (I'm platinum). Is it because I live in Canada???? That would suck, I hate always being on the short end of the stick.

Once again despite my loyalty to Nintendo I see no bonus from them.

Anyone get a confirmation email yet?
I was able to click RSVP and pick a guest, etc. Does that mean I am good to go?

If i could only find my Wii's PIN, i could get there. I also haven't registered any of my DS games yet (except Fire Emblem)

It's actually the serial number on the bottom of the Wii that you enter IIRC, and not any kind of PIN that comes with the console.

I'm taking another DS crazed friend of mine. Although, I have no idea how the hell this is going to work, considering it's being held at the busiest GameStop in the state.

Come to think of it... if it's being held in a Gamestop, won't it be really cramped? I hope they can answer my question about it being SDHC compatible.
