Can you buy this expansion pack through the PSN store?

If I remember correctly, you need to buy it from Konami directly.
So you can't buy it from PSN Store. And you can't used PSN credits to buy it too.
Its a little different from other DLC's.

Wrong. This expansion (and the pack with all 3 expansions) will be able to be bought via PSN Wallet and Paypal as well as Credit Cards.

@Jampirow

You can't buy it via PSN store (it still has to be done in-game I think, they just allow you to use the PSN wallet or paypay instead of only plastic. The store is separate from the wallet.

Yes, and I said "PSN Wallet" and not "PSN Store". There's a option on MGO's start menu named "Playstation Network", from there you buy the expansions in-game with your PSN Wallet.

I tried to buy it last night but Konami's site (as usual) was messing up and the transaction didn't go through. Now they're doing maintenance so I guess I missed out on the box-hat and extra reward points.

Oh well, SCENE still seems like great amount of bang for the buck regardless.

LONG LIVE MGO!!

@The reward points are available until the end of the month, its only the cardboard box you'll have missed out on if you didn't pre-order.

because theyre too stupid to either figure out how to make an account or too stupid to make passwords/user names that they can remember and write them down in the mgs4 manual for future reference.. other than that.. there are people who hate the community, laggers and glitchers. but im not one of the anti-MGO bunch.. im partially addicted to mgo.. only game ive played for months..well next to tekken3 and gta:SA

Alot of people don't like getting their asses handed to them from the very start (1/10 k/d's and all). Plus like I said many times over, the equipment handling shouldn't be a scroll system anymore, but mapped to the d-pad instead. Awkwardness of the controls is another killer. Lastly, alot of people don't have patience for the multiple login ID BS, which isn't really that hard to handle unless...you have absolutely no patience.

So yeah...I like MGO aside from the fact that I suck. But I can't get anybody on my friends list to play at all, they'd rather go play a true FPS shooter instead of "3rd person perspective crap."

It really seems that way. MGO didn't immediately appeal to the frag-hungry, FPS maniacs that are all too common online these days so most people dismissed it right off the bat.

MGO offers online gameplay like no other action game what with the stealth elements, slower, more calculated pacing and character customization (both aesthetic and skill-wise).

I like how you say you're partially addicted because I'd say I am too; I don't play religiously, tracking my stats like a fiend but I do enjoy to play every now and then. And with a little time invested, anyone can have fun no matter their skill or experience level because you can play the game you want. You want to hide in the shadows and CQC your kills? Do it. You want to run-and-gun? Fine. You want to sit in a cardboard box until an enemy runs past, then get up and shoot them in the back of the head? By all means, go for it.

MGO is a game (yes, it's a full game, people) that I will continue to support (via buying expansions) until it dies. And I'm not even a hardcore player.

For the vast majority of players, MGO takes an insane amount of commitment to get decent, as well as to build your skills. It's unbelievably easy to camp spawning players. If you can't get consistent head shots, put the controller down...play something else. The no head shot OPTION is actually two, underpopulated servers, containing only high level players who want to CQC/knife everything in sight. Voice command spamming in every...single...match. "OKAY! OKAY! OKAY! OKAY! OKAY! OKAY! I'M COUNTING ON YOU! HA HA HA HA HA! HA HA HA HA HA!" On top of that, every game I've played contains a couple of high level players who team stack, and completely ruin the opposite team. Not having a proper auto-balance system means that Team Stacking is a problem. The host, the moderator and all seeing eye of the game, HAS...ZERO...POWER. Can't kick team stackers, hackers, spammers, or general jerks. The controls are really awkward, especially if you haven't been playing MGO since it was released in 1998. Slow aiming speeds, mired down by a "start-up" motion. Character motions are slow, bulky, and just crap. DODGE BACKWARDS *half foot hop backwards, followed by wwwwaaaaiiitttiiinnggg for the animation to end.* ROLL SIDEWAYS TO COVER *lazy roll to the side, followed by wwwaaaiiitttiiinnggg for the animation to end.* I'm not going to touch the Konami ID thing. It was a bad idea, we all know that by now.
MGO is a slow, tactical shooter, or at least it wants to be. I want to like this so bad, but it feels so incredibly broken that I just can't bring myself to play it. I do still pick it up now and then, but after a couple days I just kind of shake my head, and put MGS4 back in the case, and slide it mournfully in my game shelf.

Does any play this anymore?

i stopped playing after a couple of weeks because it was really unfair as you would shot someone about a hundred times and they won shot you a couple and you would die.

still, the single player is amazing, so it doesn't really matter.

Chances are that you were shooting them in the chest while they were shooting you in the head. A perfect headshot is a one-shot kill every time.

I just stopped playing it since I sucked so bad at it. I could never get a good head shot. I'd let a whole clip on someones ass and they'd turn around and get one shot off and I'm dead. I was dying like every 5 seconds and just made me mad. Call of duty I'm way more better at and can do pretty well and win matches in plus the guns handle alot better.

Metal Gear online has to be the single worst online experience I've ever had. The fact that you need to sign up for a separate Konami ID, outside of your PS3 login makes no sense.

Plus the fact that it's just not as fun as the single player game...
