Good news for fighting game aficionados out of Capcom and MadCatz HQ today. A new shipment of the specialty controllers and arcade sticks for (and that should have come bundled with) Street Fighter IV will be available soon. Darin from the Capcom Unity Blog sends word that MadCatz will have a few units of the popular -- but somewhat problematic -- controllers by the end of this month and the end of April.
While the number of units isn't being thrown around, Capcom says there should be enough stock to take care of most, if not all, existing orders. As for the ability to one day walk into a store and freely purchase a unit off the shelf ... let's not talk crazy, folks.

No seriously some things are left in the pass for very good reasons.
Oh well at least it wasn't Dominatrix Miyamoto.
*shudders.

Cool! I still won't be able to buy one! Exciting!
The Street Fighter IV accessory line has been so incredibly poorly managed. I missed the unlisted Tournament Stick reserve deadline by less than 24 hours, and the one PS3 controller I could get my hands on was defective.
It's absolutely shameful.

They should just keep the controllers in stock all year round. It's nice having access to a 360 controller with a working d-pad.

I couldn't wait and didn't want to that e-bay tax so I just ordered some other Hori arcade stick.
I think it was this one: http://www.amazon.com/PS3-Fighting-Stick-3-Playstation/dp/B000MWE3BI
Not sure if it's as good as the mad catz one but I can't play SF IV without a Joystiq.

I have the Xbox variant of that stick.
It's by no means bad, but from what I understand it doesn't use authentic arcade parts.
Which explains why it's significantly cheaper, however I would like to to get a TE stick sometime.
I hear they are worth the dough.

The defects are related to the SE version, of which is not the graphic shown above.
The TE version of the stick does not have any widespread issues, and I cannot wait until they're in stock.
That aside, this is old news. This was reported back in February.

I've been waiting for my TE FightStick preorder from Capcom's own damn store for awhile now. The saving grace was the 10% coupon they were giving out, free shipping and no tax. It took me until just last week to order SFIV because I didn't have a stick.

I'm in the same boat with you. Last time I ever buy anything from Capcom directly, 10% off or not. Their customer service is very lacking when I had to deal with them over this issue.

I walked into a video rental store last week and bought the $80 SE stick they had sitting there for a couple of weeks. After I brought it home I was so terrified that it was going to break on me that I returned it the next day and got my money back. A few days later went to Best Buy and grabbed one of the six button controllers which I'm happy with so far. I miss my stick but the pad will hold me over until I can get a TE fight stick.

Don't feel bad folks. I work at EB Games in Canada and we still haven't seen ANY regular sticks, pads and our TE sticks have been delayed. So while it sounds rough for you remember that Madcatz didn't ship any to Canada to meet the USA's needs.

I think it would have been nice if Capcom bundled the FightPad with Street Fighter 4 for around 75 dollars.

Another random sidenote, Sanwa parts are basically impossible to get right now through the normal arcade parts online stores. I'm assuming it's because Madcatz bought a crap ton of them to produce TE sticks for April.
Their online store has been saying April 2009 for the TE stick, but doesn't say anything about the SE stick... that no one wants :P

Don't keep your hopes up. The increased manufacturing is right now only enough to fill EXISTING orders. There's still no telling whether they will be making enough to fill up store shelves with the TE sticks.
Instead of hoping and waiting, I am now modding my old XBOX pelican arcade stick to use it on the 360. And yes, SANWA parts are impossible to find right now, so your guess that MadCatz has bought up all the parts is likely spot on. Still, I can just use the arcade stick as is, and once the parts are available, I've swap out the stick and buttons.

Is there any truth to a joystick being bundled with the PC version of SF4?
Regardless, I really want a TE stick.. I wonder how quickly this new batch will sell out...

Word is they are considering bundling the PC version with a pad, not a stick.
