On a 1up podcast, they reported on a story that Sony, about 7 or 8 months ago, finally started mandating that the games have trophies. All of the most recent games I have picked up for PS3 have had trophies.

I won't say that it is 100% mandated, but it seems that way from the last few games I picked up.

@FeaturePreacher games past a certain point in development that released early 09 were not part of the mandatory trophy deal.

Afro Samurai passed certification in 2008, that's when it was supposed to be released. Games finished in 08 but delayed to 09 are the only ones exempted. Otherwise it's mandatory after Jan 2009 for games slated for that release.

The only games without trophies (50 cent and one other one) were submitted before trophies were mandated.

Cool, I was first at sending this in. I really liked Sigma, and I think this will be pretty good too. High hopes for this one.

I never bothered picking this up on the 360, but was meaning to get around for it. I'll wait an see if the improvements make it worth it over the discounted 360. Ayane finally being playable would be great.

But frankly I'm more interested in Ninja Blade right now.

Wasn't Ninja Gaiden II published by Microsoft? I'm surprised they let this happen.

Well, under the name NG Sigma 2 they can publish it. Also if they enhance the graphics it's not really considered a port.

I think it was more an issue of distribution and promotion than publishing, like EA's relationship to Rock Band.

Faults aside, still the best, bloodiest, fast paced action game released this generation, imho.

Enjoy PS3 owners.

It was the bloodiest and fastest, but could have definitely used more time in the oven. Like alot more compared to how polished the first NG was. Especially Black.

I almost jumped out of my desk chair at work. I knew deep down that they'd port this over eventually. I had my doubts, but now it seems the wait's been rewarded. I honestly don't care about the flaws that much, I was gonna get it one way or another.

With the first Ninja Gaiden, I actually wrote a letter to Tecmo and begged them to let us have it on PS3. I guess ya'll can thank me now since they appreciated my letter so much they decided to release the 2nd one on PS3 as well. =)

I kid, i kid.

I'm so ready to get my ass kicked one more time.

This is kind of strange. I thought MS funded development of NG2. Oh well. I wanna see if the PS3 can do the stairwell without my frame rate going to 5!

Itagaki would have NEVER allowed the game to come to PS3. He was even upset with others in the company for them developing Sigma 1 for the PS3. You should thank the fact that he left the company for them to bring this to the PS3.

Maybe we will also see the return of Dead or Alive on the PS3 as well? : )

Congrats PS3 owners!!!

Ha.. called it back when Itagaki left Tecmo. Amusing. At any rate, I already have the 360 release of this, but if it's as big of an improvement as they're letting on - and, more importantly, has Ayane has a playable character - I may actually pony up for this reiteration. :P

This is great news. This is also hilarious that the itagaki never allowed his team to work on the PS3 although they obviously really wanted to and do fabulous work.. When sigma came out, it was (arguably) the best looking 1080p 60 fps games out, and one of the best games tecmo made since the original xbox. Then itagaki called it a no good port because it was on ps3 and he wanted nothing to do with it even though it was essentially a baby of his own baby. Then the "master" created his own sequel which players and reviewers feel fell short in almost every aspect, graphics, gameplay improvements and progresson into how modern games are expected to work. Even Sigma did certain things better than the supposed sequel that could only be done on 360.

Hopefully this reboot will fix most of those problems and at the very least, it'll bring it up to par with what most gamers expect out of the series. And it won't be a cheap crappy port. Its sad they didn't at least get to make it multiplatform because of some bullheaded egomaniac.

Now that the stubborn ass is out of the picture, they can go ahead and take his game and make it better and hopefully it turns out the way it should have, with 1080p and all the issues of the xbox game and tweak those to be

what the people what. This is their 1 second chance.

And all those people who claimed the "real sequel/real game" was going to be ninja gaiden 2 and not some "rehashed port of a port" like that stinker, sigma. Well i wish i could watch those people squirm that sigma 2 will probably be the better of the two.

It won't be 1080p, (although I'm hoping it is) theres just way more stuff going on in NG2 than in Sigma. I would assume 720p with a better camera and tighter controls for sure though. :)

I need to erase the "only on Xbox 360" logo on the box of Ninja Gaiden 2 out. LOL oh wait, I'm just gonna trade it in and buy a new one on the PS3. Just like Bioshock. Xbox "exclusive". LOL This is why I don't buy any more of the newer exclusive titiles on the 360 any more. Because sooner or later I can play them on the PS3. I just don't wanna trade them in and lost about $50 a game any more ya know?

This kicks ass. I loved Ninja Gaiden 2 on the Xbox 360 and eventually will probably get around to picking up both Ninja Gaiden Sigma and this.

I wonder if the PS3's tech will make us play that stair-way scene in Matrix mode or not.

Cool, now I have a chance to play this on my console of choice. Come on PS3, keep the games coming.

With all these games coming, this and early next year, Sony has to cut the price NOW! I know Sony may be hurting but they have to get their great system into many homes as possible.

I say this, Sony if you're not gonna cut the price then put PS2 BC back in cause those are the main reasons people are not getting them. One or the other!!!

So the PS3 is getting Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 aka Ninja Gaiden 2 (formerly exclusive to the 360). That's the good way to balance this console war, an eye for an eye. While they're at it. Can they remake or make a enhance port of Dead or Alive and the extreme beach volleyball series. It would be so cool, many PS3 having sexual fantasies with the hot babes. They should add this for the extreme beach volleyball for the PS3 version:

-dating sims-All the players is to go on a date with some of these girls, I know they're not real but hey it's kind of fun to do that, add a trophies for dating each of the girls. Imagine taking Kasumi out to a carnival or something like that. (no graphic sex please, don't want AO and a big controversey from game critics and haters)
-more sports beside what they have on the 360-Add something like I don't know like Tennis, Badminton, Basketball, Water Polo, or whatever
-more gifts
-more exclusive (whatever they can come up with)

Will the new content be worth the extra $40 for PS3 owners (the original X360 can be found easy for $20 new)?

$40 extra dollars is better than $300 extra dollars (buying a 360 for Ninja Gaiden II).
