I think both the Wii and Ps3 are going to have a great year for software lineups. Can't really thing of any upcoming 360-exclusive titles i'd be keen for, but both the Wii and Ps3 have amazing titles forthcoming. A Ps3 price-cut should close the gap with the 360, but in these economic times, it's too hard to judge what will happen either way. Either way, gamers win!

HaHAHa!

It's funny every time I hear a fanboy saying that there's not gonna be any Xbox360 exclusive games this year.

Just wait for E3, okay?

I'm not a fanboy, i'm just a hardcore gamer. Simply put, i can't think of a single 360 exclusive already announced that is coming out this year that i would buy if i had a 360. I've heard of tons of Ps3 exclusives i'd get if i had a Ps3, and Wii exclusives i will probably buy, but not a single 360 game. E3 and GDC will no doubt reveal more, but thats how it stands right now.

He's right endcat. I can only think of 2 exclusives for 360 this year, and that's halo wars and the halo 3 expansion (which means there is no exclusives worth mentioning to me). Hopefully they come out with some stuff at E3

Ok, I can see how your tried to save face by closing your comment with "gamers win" but the hidden message or intention was dissing the 360 and praising the others.

You fail at fanboy diversion tactics.

And to be honest they are going to have to come with more ammo than that. Sony pulls a little better face at the start of the year but hasn't even come close to the game lineups that the 360 and Wii have been pulling for years. I mean, good for the PS3 but the new year is still just starting. Talk to me again at the end of the year.

We didn't know about Gears 2 or Fable 2 until E3 last year. So yeah, bit early to talk about number of exclusives. And to those dismissing Halo 3 ODST, well...to each their own. There's no denying it's one of the most powerful franchises in gaming, or that it will be a huge release.

Everyone proclaiming "360 NO GAMES LUL LUL" (fanboy or not) is an idiot. You did the same shit in 08 and in 07 (Even though Halo 3 whitewashed most of the complaints).

Microsoft is not like Sony. They don't show their games 3-4 years before release. They almost always announce them within a year of launch. Alan Wake is the only game I can think of that that did the opposite.

Yeah, these people calling you a fanboy aren't very bright. You said nothing about the number of exclusives, you just said there wasn't any you are KEEN on (meaning none that he really finds interesting, people!).

And its true, I was thinking about this the other day, and I couldn't really think of any either, other than ODST. ME2 I'll be playing on PC... I can't really think of anything I care about other than that. But, there aren't that many more PS3 games I'm waiting for: Uncharted 2, GoW3, not sure about Heavy Rain (it looks interesting but not sure about the gameplay or lack thereof), and maybe MAG. White Knight if it comes out in NA this year. Already picked up Killzone 2 :P

Debikul, i'm not dissing the 360. I intend to get one myself for FFXIII, Fable 2, RE5, SFIV, SCIV, Gears 2 and DMC4 when i have the money, i'm just saying there hasn't been anything announced so far that is even close to must-buy. Yes E3 will change things, but it looks like Sony is getting the jump in on having the best 2009 lineup (out of the HD consoles of course).

You must have a bad memory, TB. Gears of War 2 was revealed at last year's GDC and Fable 2 was revealed at E3 06, I believe. Either way, not having much in the way of titles being in our consciousness three months into the year is a bit of an issue, but I'm guessing GDC and E3 will have something.

I am so sick of hearing that. I'm not gonna pull together the list again but there were plenty of high-profile PS3 games released last year that were announced... last year. Don't be idiotic; as it stands, the 360 just has a weak lineup this year. That may change, and I'm certainly open to it as unlike some of you I'm neither an idiotic hater or a defensive fanbot - I'm a proud trifecta owner.

Thats right they (Nintendo and Sony) have the better exclusives on paper. As I have said before on paper and in practice are two very different things. All those on paper games could turn out to be crappy which is why I make the distinction between on paper and in practice.

To everyone that is saying "wait for GDC" and "wait for E3". While some exciting new games will no doubt be announced at these conferences, it is not very likely that any previously unannounced titles will be showing up in 2009. How often is a game kept secret until a few months before its release?

I just sold me Wii for a 360 in January, and I don't see any exclusives I care about for the 360 this year either. No worries, there's plenty of older games I can get for a good price.

In any case, to everyone saying to wait for E3, most games announced at E3 don't come out the same year.

Yeah most of us reading this article should have a ps3, hence why we come to the ps3 section.. This is tagged as Playstation related not xbox related. I dont give a rats ass about the xbox360 dont have it dont want it, feel sorry for you if you bought into the 360 and are stuck with a malfunctioning crappy console, but that was your choice.

http://www.joystiq.com/2007/02/07/xbox-360-has-the-weakest-exclusives-says-gamepro/ -- that was posted in 2007 and its still the truth.

PS3 upcoming titles:

inFAMOUS, God of War III, Fat Princess,Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, Gran Turismo 5, Heavy Rain,Final Fantasy Versus XIII, White Knight Chronicles
MAG, Demons Souls, X-Edge, Shin Megami Tense

Recently released:

flower (not even possible on the 360), kz2, resistance 2, Little Big Planet, Valkyrie Chronicles,

PS3 has already won the exclusives titles. This is a null and void argument. The ps3 has more and better exclusive games, just accept it..

Its amazing how defensive the xbox 360 fans get, its almost like they are paid to spread bullshit about their rivals..

Even I have to admit there isn't much in the distance to see for my 360 now that Halo Wars is in my possession, saying that, I'm already expecting Mass Effect 2 and Lost Planet 2 if its exclusive to 360, plus there's Recon, and I'm pretty sure mention of Gears 3, Forza 3, and all the other sequels will pop up sometime soon, so its worth a wait to see what will materialize.

For the PS3 side of things, God of war, Gran Turismo 5, Mag, Infamous and several others and thats not even including the multiplats.

PSP lineup is a killer as you all know, but my main interest is Monster Hunter 2G.

Forget Wii, theres nothing that interests me, nothing other then the Conduit.

The PS3 certainly has a very impressvie line up, but written off the 360 completely is a little silly. Lost and the Damned was big enough to go up against most full priced retail games, and I'm sure the same will be true of the second Episode.

The next two batches of content for Fallout 3 are also more like full expansions, similar to Shivering Isles for Oblivion, and Fable seems to have something along those lines coming too. Forza 3, Dragon Age and Lost Odyssey 2 are likely to be formally announced at GDC or E3 as well.

But I don't see why the PS3 fanboys are gloating here so much, considering this is the first year were the PS3 has had anything above a decent line up, the 360's has library has destroyed the PS3's for the past few years running, and the 360's this year still isn't anything to shrug off, even if the vast majority of what they're offering are expansions and downloadable games.

Last year was exceptional for my PS3, and this year 'should' be no different based on the games we are awaiting.

Though, Snowblind is very true, you cannot write the 360 off, the line up may be slimmer but its held its own exceptionally well, and sales continue to increase. The same could be said for Wii, despite the games or lack of hardcore games, the Wii continues to increase its eclipse of PS3 and 360.

So don't go talking up the PS3 and 360 with Wii still dominating the game.

Saying that, there is really no difference in multiplats anymore, and even if there was, few gamers take the time to notice unless it's a blaring difference, so the consoles are relying more on thier own power and that of DLC at the moment. While the likes of TR Underworld DLC may not make a difference to the sales of platforms, do not forget that the likes of GTA and Fallout do.

I have never commented on an xbox360 article and put down the console. I don't have it its none of my business and I ain't paid money to trash the 360. I don't even care what exclusives it has because I will never buy it end of. Its failure rate is too high and its done by Microsoft, I am not spending money on it simple as that. (I have the wii and the ps3 - I play my gc games on the wii, more than I play wii games )

Now to your point snowblind, don't forget last year the ps3 was outselling the 360 for quite a few months. So no the only time the 360 started puling ahead was over the Christmas period were MS advertised the crap out of it, every multiplat has x360 plastered on it and no sign of ps3 also generally people fall into the trap of believing the tco of the 360 is just 129.99 (arcade model). Parents are more likely to get the 360 because of its price, students on tight budgets will be more likely to afford the 360. That is why the 360 raced ahead recently in sales, not because of its games. So don't get it twisted.

Some people buy because of price, some because of quality. I prefer quality, thats just me.

Correct, and the other is MAG. I realize PS3 owners are looking forward to other things, but those are the console sellers, i.e. what people say they're waiting for besides the price cut.

Both of them are publicly nothing more than cinematic teasers at this point, and it seems like Sony's bald-facing to keep console sales moving. The idea of MAG in particular coming this year is absurd. Most MMOs take 5 years to create, and even if MAG's not an MMO, it's close enough and is trying new functionality to boot.

HitNRun, none of us no for certain how long MAG has been in development for, you say 5 years to create, how can you be so sure it hasn't been in development for that long, or at least prepared for? The only thing we saw was an announcement and a trailer, that doesn't mean they started on the day they announced it, surely it was in development long before that, well, no, it was certainly in development long before that because Sony was hyping it at the start of that year, saying they had a big announcement for E3, then BBC added to it, remember, so we don't know how long its been in development.

Sony has THE software. All they need is a $50 price cut. At least if PS2 BC was in there then the price wouldn't big deal but now that consumers know that it doesn't, Sony might as well take $50 off.
