The Behemoth reveals trailer for third game
Developer The Behemoth has released its first trailer for The Crying Sugar Cube Leprechaun -- OK, that's not the real title, but the game doesn't have a name yet ... so deal. Actual details on the unnamed party platformer are pretty scarce at the moment, with no price, console nor game details announced. What we do know is that the game is expected in 2010, but considering what happened with Castle Crashers, let's just put 2010 in the category of hopeful dreaming for now. Let's also pray that any online play actually works on day one this time.
All The Behemoth would say is that the game is in the "very super early development stage right now." Check out the video after the break for an idea of what to expect from The Crying ... we gotta stop, that's how fake rumors about titles get started.

Some of it looks like LittleBigPlanet, mechanics-wise. Not sure what to make of a lot of it. Some sort of multiplayer soccer platformer?
Mr Bunky @ Mar 17th 2009 11:56AM
Can't wait to buy the game and then wait 6 months for a patch to make the game playable.
mspiels @ Mar 17th 2009 12:35PM
They are a smaller studio, get realistic.
Tiptup300 @ Mar 17th 2009 1:04PM
The soccer thing looked more of a multiplayer mini-game. The actual game seems like a solid platformer with no soul, which is odd for behemoth. I'm hating the block design, no level will really have it's own feel.
chenry @ Mar 17th 2009 2:14PM
In that it's a platforming game? Get a clue, man.
Shaumarai @ Mar 17th 2009 11:39AM
The Behemoth is crazier than I previously thought.
That trailer was....odd.

I'm not wholly certain what I just saw, but am fairly certain it's not something to my tastes. I didn't care much for Alien Hominid, but did like Castle Crashers.
Gong show.
The Dark Wayne @ Mar 17th 2009 11:42AM
I dont think they could have a better name than the crying sugar cube leprechaun
samfish (is ready for MadWorld!) @ Mar 17th 2009 11:43AM
Looks pretty cool to me. I just hope the apparent co-op stuff they showed is optional. Not a fan of it.
Zertoss @ Mar 17th 2009 11:43AM
That was a Chaos Emerald... So Behemoth is making a new Sonic game? And this is it?
And now Chaos Emeralds make Sugar Cube Leprechauns cry?
Nap @ Mar 17th 2009 12:36PM
The Sugar Cube makes Leprechauns Cry
How St, Patrick's Day appropriate!
TuAmigoAlejandro @ Mar 17th 2009 11:44AM
I must admit, I'm loving Castle Crashers, but that trailer didn't do much to excite me about this new game. I don't know why, but this new game feels over-hyped already. Here's hoping it turns out to be a great game, though!
RockerAnimeFreak @ Mar 17th 2009 11:45AM
Whoa!
NaeemTHM @ Mar 17th 2009 11:46AM
I'm a sucker for anything made by The Behemoth. Those dudes completely understand the gaming mind of kids that grew up in the 80's.
Bagels PSN:WolfLogic @ Mar 17th 2009 12:48PM
Tain't kids no more.

ummmmm
what??
travsam @ Mar 17th 2009 11:48AM
Hmm... the music sounds great... hope the game will be better as shown here...
Marty @ Mar 17th 2009 9:07PM
That's actually an old, old old song. Dies Irea, a requiem from Verdi.
That's like seeing a trailer with the 1812 Overture and saying the game has great original music.
Gstaff @ Mar 17th 2009 11:48AM
Looks good
Obie @ Mar 17th 2009 11:49AM
What was I lookin' at? Puzzle game? Co-op platformer?
I love their games' humor and art style, just not their glitchyness and slow patching process....we'll see.
Sir Buzz Killington( The Artist formerly known as Jakka) @ Mar 17th 2009 11:51AM
Stop crying, cube. You don't have any emotions, you're a sugar cube. You're not fooling anyone. In fact you don't even have any eyelids.
Snowblind @ Mar 17th 2009 11:51AM
So it seems to be what most people were expecting, a new take on the classic platformer. Looks good from what I saw, the style is as great as ever and the co-op looks interesting.
Dirty @ Mar 17th 2009 11:52AM
Dibs on pyramid head
xenocidic @ Mar 17th 2009 12:38PM
hold on let me get my care face
xenocidic @ Mar 17th 2009 12:38PM
oops, that was to the troll below, sorry.
Ian Murray @ Mar 17th 2009 11:55AM
Another game from the Behemoth that I'm not wasting my money on.
Nate Kowal @ Mar 17th 2009 12:10PM
So don't comment.
Ian Murray @ Mar 17th 2009 12:11PM
Wow, so only people who are going to buy this game should comment?
What a hilariously misguided view.
Enjoy your rose-tinted glasses.
Lee @ Mar 17th 2009 12:38PM
"Wow, so only people who are going to buy this game should comment?"
For whatever reason. Yes.
mspiels @ Mar 17th 2009 12:38PM
It's just that your comment has not value at all to the viewer. You could have at least said why you believe you're "wasting" your money and backed it up with something intelligent.
Metal Gear!? @ Mar 17th 2009 12:36PM
Bummer... Even though I'm not a fan of RPGs, I was hoping that the screen was the sign of an RPG(couldn't think of how to better word that, sorry). I can't believe that there will be a game by The Behemoth that I will not buy. Kind of nice to see the PDA Mini-game boat in there... Actually, this kind of looks similar to the Platformer/Puzzle PDA mini-game. I hope that this game is so early in development that the entire structure of the game and the gameplay gets changed.
jpw21683 @ Mar 17th 2009 2:16PM
I agree, I thought it looked like the PDA Mini-games in Alien Hominid.
PDA + 4 buddies + beer + 2 hours = Good, swear-ridden time
Vcize @ Mar 17th 2009 12:02PM
Looks good, but I'm waiting until I hear that the game actually works before buying this time.
Nate Kowal @ Mar 17th 2009 12:09PM
Wow, just wow, right? It looks like it is very co-op heavy. And Weird. And umm... did anyone else see something reminiscent of Super Smash Bros. in that?
XIII @ Mar 17th 2009 12:45PM
So I wasn't the only one who noticed a little SSB going on in that trailer. It seems to be a 2D, co-op, platform, puzzel, brawler, mash-up of sorts...very odd trailer.
Peff @ Mar 17th 2009 4:36PM
Definitely, it felt like Break the Targets, and make it to the exit. interesting take though. I love their art style.
Lee @ Mar 17th 2009 12:31PM
Maybe. but if so I'll be getting it a year after its release.
mgsrocks1 @ Mar 17th 2009 12:34PM
Nice. It's kind of like a cartoony version of Little Big Planet. I wonder what they would come up with if they worked on a full 3D next-gen game. *head implodes*
D-5 @ Mar 17th 2009 12:34PM
Looks awesome! However, never was a huge fan of the "Flash" art-style.
ZAM1138 @ Mar 17th 2009 12:43PM
Pretty cool looking over all. Loved Castle Crashers. One nagging thing...WHAT IS THAT SONG IN THE TRAILER?! I love epic classical music like that, but alas, I don't know what song that is... please help?
ZAM1138 @ Mar 17th 2009 4:13PM
Ah-ha! After some internet detective work, I have discovered it's Verdi's "Requiem - Dies Arie"
virus0100 @ Mar 17th 2009 12:46PM
i just watched the trailer stoned - and i like alot
D-5 @ Mar 18th 2009 10:04AM
Trolling on the net vs. Proclaiming being drunk, high, or on something while on the net. I can't decide which is worse.
WyFy @ Mar 17th 2009 12:49PM
Yuck yuck=no buy. I really hope this gets polished up a lot more.
WyFy @ Mar 17th 2009 12:55PM
Also, did The Behemoth design all of the Plurk.com avatars?
Erluti @ Mar 17th 2009 12:58PM
Really, if the game is really just a cinematic of epic music while that crying dude holds a gem, I AM SOLD.
Phawx @ Mar 17th 2009 12:58PM
seems like co-op Q-bert
waynski1457 @ Mar 17th 2009 1:23PM
I bet the this was all intentionally ambiguous to kind of throw everybody off as to what the game will really involve.
That said, I can't wait. The Behemoth just seems to get it when it comes to classic gaming with heart and making it still feel incredibly fresh.
Jordan @ Mar 17th 2009 1:28PM
That reminds me of the PDA games on Alien Hominid. I CAN'T WAIT! Looks really fun, but if it's only a party game thing that will be a bit lame. But hey, it's the Behemoth, it's bound to be good. :D
Xanto @ Mar 17th 2009 1:28PM
I don't even know what's going on but I'm interested
