Developers are a lot like weeds apparently. Chop one down and three pop up in its place. With Ensemble Studios vets already forming two new studios, it looks like a third is ready to join the fray. IGN reports that former Ensemble developer Dusty Monk has founded Windstorm Studios. The Windstorm website proclaims the studio will not produce "post-apocalyptic games full of depressing zombies, dark caves and dire predictions of humanity's eventual destruction." Instead, it will produce "a better online game - a game with the promise of a hopeful future -- cities of glass and steel, and most importantly, flying cars!"
No concrete details are given about the studio's first project, only that it will offer "an online experience that's a fresh and radical departure from the norm." We're crossing our fingers that Windstorm has successfully created the first online, xenophobic jerk filter.

It's refreshing to hear of these upstarts during our economic situation, I think its a sparkle of light at the end of the tunnel.
Or just a semi with it's brights on ready to mow me over.

I approve of glass cities and flying cars. In fact, I've been wanting something like that for some time now. Just any story at all that involves majestic flying cities, etc.

Well I'll just watch this space.
It's a shame Ensemble were closed down, but I suppose kinda good we now have three teams that will hopefully be able to produce at least one decent game between them.

Did he make that with LogoMaker? Because it looks very familiar.
