Mountain Dew forms an Alliance with World of WarCraft

Do you miss Mountain Dew Game Fuel? Or are you a WoW player jealous of the attention Pepsico lavished upon Halo players? Perhaps you plan to be really thirsty at some unspecified point in the near future.

If any of these conditions describe you, you'll be very happy about this news! This summer, Mountain Dew (which we refuse to call "MTN DEW") is launching two limited-edition World of WarCraft Game Fuel beverages: "Wild Fruit" flavored Alliance Blue, and "Citrus Cherry" flavored Horde Red, which, WoW Insider notes, is the original Halo 3 Game Fuel! The exact release date has yet to be revealed -- we'll have to distract ourselves with regular Mountain Dew, and the thrilling, extreme-sports-filled lifestyle that comes naturally to Dew drinkers, until then.

I used to love Mountain Dew when I was younger. Drank it all the time.
...and then one day I took a sip and it tasted like someone took a piss in seltzer water and put it in a can. I haven't had so much as a sip of that shit in 1999.
They also kinda of insult one's intelligence by trying to sell the shit as XTREEM. Blech.
New logo is also terrible.

I was excited that they were going to have some sort of half-red, half-blue bottle. I am now disappointed. :(

The best part is this time they're branding it with a game that I'm more or less indifferent to as opposed to one I hate with a buring passion.

and as a side note....aside from the abbreviation (which I've learned to live with) I actually do like the new logo a lot. I'm waiting for them to redo Code Red, Livewire, and Voltage (which I don't quite understand why they relaunched it with the old one anyway)

Visit your local grocery store and behold: green MTN DEW, blue Mountain Dew Voltage with the previous style, and for some damn reason, Mountain Dew Livewire still has the logo style prior to *that* one.

2 things I don't undestand

-what the hell point are you trying to make....They relaunched Voltage as a permanent addition around the same time they launched the new logo. why use the old one on a new product when they were planning on getting rid of it in a couple months anyway

re: Yorkie, Nestle almost got into serious problems when they did the TV ads for the yorkie bars... And it did exactly what they wanted: Create so much furore that girls bought just to spite them!

Sweet, I liked the Halo 3 stuff better than regular mountain dew, and blue flavor sodas are always great

Talk about an educational service. I had no idea that they switched from "Mountain Dew" to "Mtn Dew" and I drink Diet Mountain Dew (DtMtnDew) everyday.

Weird that I didn't notice it.

OH GOD. The memories rushing back... the haunting color... the thick liquid... the nauseating flavor. Then the worst happens, as it slowly descends towards your stomach the feel of death bolts through your veins and kidney's; the fear of your looming demise driving you to the brink of insanity before you finally in a crazed attempt to thwart the inevitable rotting of your body you grab the nearest bag of lime and like a crazed madman drop to your knees, shoveling it down your throat. But alas your futile efforts are rewarded only with death as your bowels release and blood pours from every orifice; leaving a once great man nothing more than a twisted decaying unrecognizable heap.

I still have (empty) cans of the Halo 3 Game Fuels.... I collect Mt. Dew cans and bottles, since they come out with so many 'Limited Edition' flavors.

I also still have a few bottles of Mt. Dew Revolution (the flavor that should've won) left, too.. They expired around the beginning of 2009.

Mt. Dew just needs to keep the game fuel flavors around, for good. I was so pissed when they discontinued the Halo 3 Game Fuels.

it was almost as good as the game fuel, which is almost as good as code red
but you don't really need to worry about expired pop, unless it's like years old

I have never played an MMO. Is it strenuous? What should my target heart rate be? How many carbs will I burn? And does this drink have the electrolytes my body needs?

I prefer Mingus Dew.

Now that I know the Horde beverage is the Halo 3 game fuel, I'll definitely be getting a case of it. I would've bought some of the Horde stuff anyway (For The Horde!) but now that I already know it's delicious I'll be ordering a whole bunch from somewhere or stocking up at the store.

As much as I'd love to have Revolution back, it's probably a different flavor.

Revolution was a "wild berry" flavor. This is being labeled as "Fruit Punch".... Maybe the're bringing back the original Mountain Dew Red formula with a blue coloring (and I'm NOT talking about the current Code Red formula, There was a "Mountain Dew Red", back in the late 80's. Google it..) It was a Fruit Punch flavored Dew, and tasted nothing like Code Red.

I used to buy a case of them whenever I went to visit my relatives in Alabama, where Dew Red was being test marketed.
