EA, Microsoft marketing vet joins Ubisoft UK

Remember when you were poring over the credits section of the Forza Motorsport manual and saw, under "Special Thanks," the name Murray Pannell? (Sorry, we had to try.) Well, Mr. Pannell has left the building -- the Microsoft building. His destination: Ubisoft UK, where he'll head up a trifecta of PR, brand management and digital marketing. We've heard his new nickname will be "Triforce." (Or maybe it was "Noob.")

Prior to his time as group product manager for Xbox 360 and Games For Windows at MS UK, Pannell marketed the heck out of EA releases in jolly ol' England, most notably Peter Molyneux's Black & White. Now he's gone beyond good and evil.

Hence why they put up a photo of a New Zealander, and not an Englishman...

No clue what you guys are talking about, but I was referring to the part in the article where it says:

"Pannell marketed the heck out of EA releases in jolly ol' England".

UK = England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales. It's been that way for the entire time the games industry has been active.

Well, the UK is a state made up of four countries (England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland). Great Britain is *the island* on which the first three reside.

Also, England doesn't 'rule' the other countries. The Queen, who technically holds sovereignty, is the queen of the United Kingdom, and the UK parliament (which does happen to be in London) is responsible for wielding that power, with elected representatives from constituencies across the UK.

Hope that helped, although it probably induced severe boredom.

The statement is not untrue though, if he marketed the heck out of EA titles in the UK, then would he not have marketed the heck out of titles in England?
