European PSN updates for March 19

Good grief. What a lot of content. Between the original Silent Hill, SOCOM Confrontation, our normal selection of DLC and a massive amount of PSP games (including Resistance Retribution and Ratchet and Clank: Size Matters), we're spoilt for choice. There's also a "launch trailer" for God of War III, which we suspect is being released about a year too early.

out of curiosity, all you need to buy from other regions is a PSN account for that region and a credit card, yes?

A credit card FOR that region (a virtual pre-paid card will do!). Or a PSN card (I don't think they are any in the UK). That's how I buy stuff from the US living in the UK.

You also need to make sure that if you're buying add on content that you have the correct region game.

So you can buy a PSN game and it will work fine on all regions, but you if you buy the COD map pack from Europe, you must have a European version of the game.

good job konami. i'll pick this up in hopes that it doesn't carry that annoying buzz when you fire the pistol (like it does with the original copy).

I don't see any demos dang it. But I will be getting those new Motorstorm PR themes.

why does Europe get more full games of ps3 and psp?

Its probably because they have to appease european fans some how. Dont even get the movie store in europe

Can I download the Euro COD pack for my US system/game?

No, DLC is region locked. If you had a UK copy on your US system you could. But a US version of the game needs the US DLC. This is true for every game on the PS3/PSP.

Ok, thank you. I forgot how that worked, I'm anxious for the new COD maps, specifically the zombie one.

You can try to get them but the wallet isn't working. Not one person is able to add funds at the moment so it's a waiting game.

This is actually the second GOW3 trailer on PSN europe (first was on 22 Jan 2009). It's funny it's called the launch trailer when some retailers, like play.com, have pre-orders for GOW3 and removed it from their catalogue - lol

No, the update which came out on the 5th didn't have the titan pack, that was delayed until the 19th (appearently), however an update including split-screen and the trophies did arrive on the 5th. I want the atual titan pack that includes the game modes etc (greed, titan etc etc). I've tried the game and there was no update for it (incase for some bizzarre reason), the in-game mods and the PSN store for me here, yet nothing. SCEE is absolutly useless...

No, it was just a updated classification for the PSN release.

Wow, they are really cementing the rumor of a UMDless PSP-4000 with all of these PSP releases on the Store.

Considering I have Silent Hill black label for PS1, I have Confrontation on Blu-Ray, and I'm not a Resisitance fan, This update seems kinda meh for me :/ We'll see what we have for the US update today, though I don't expect much of anything different.

You all must buy Silent Hill though... It's my favorite in the series. Probably not the same for newcomers though, since the graphics are outdated and the story is getting tired at this point. Before there were any sequels, Silent Hill was the creepiest and weirdest game ever.

Europe always gets downloadable PSP games that I have to buy on UMD here in the States. I would go through the trouble of using a virtual credit card etc, but that would mean that I have to worry about not being able to play games on one account (US) just to play games on an EU account and vice versa.

Where is our RA3 demo??

I just checked the PSN store to be excited with the release of Resistance Retribution. Unfortunately my excitement became anger once again. The price of RR for the digital version is 39 Euro. This makes 36 GBP (according to xe.com) and the price for the UK store is 24.99 GBP.

OK! I am not an economist and I don't feel smart enough, to understand what the HELL Sony is doing with pricing in Europe in general, but I think that I am smart enough to figure out that 11 GBP more than what UK gamers pay is just ridiculous.

On the other hand RR is sold for about 18GBP in Amazon and I REALLY REALLY cannot understand how the digital version can be almost 100% more expensive than the physical one. Well done Sony! You did the best on supporting digital downloads!

The network is crippled at the moment, a flood of international users tried to buy the COD DLC early (they couldn't wait a few hours for it to come out in the U.S.) and they crashed the cashing system, which means nobody can add funds to buy anything at the moment. There are issues with multiple transactions as well, so everyone lay off it for tonight.

I hope they start putting MORE PSP Titles on PSN. and at a GOOD price as well!!

I'm not seeing the Call of Duty World at War expansion pack on my PSN. I downloaded the patch when I started up the game, but it still isnt on the PSN.
Anyone else having that problem? Accessing the European PSN from Ireland by the way.

I cannot believe that the U.S. does not get Silent Hill. I've accepted that we are destined to always get the short end of the PS1 Classic stick, but this really pisses me off.

Check out http://Gaminglue.com they've got almost all the PSN cards available at their store. Let's see if they managed to find the European/Aussie PSN cards (if its even available!)
