Teaser trailer reveals 'Xi' for PlayStation Home

If you can stand watching this minute and a half of annoying flashes, then you just might get an early glimpse of "Xi" for PlayStation Home. The new teaser trailer from Videogamer.com features a series of random images meshed together by blurry transitions and it's accompanied by the most painful shutter sound effects ever. Be warned, you might feel dizzy watching it. Check it out here, if you wish.

We don't learn much from the teaser, though we can spot some clues pointing to what it could be. A symbol (image above) is seen as wall graffiti in Home. Given the distinct, enigmatic nature of the trailer, we're assuming this could be some sort of mystery-thriller/puzzle clue hunting game within Home. It could also be related to that odd message discovered back in February. Whatever it is, it looks like it'll give Home users something new to do.

A subway for Home?

Hey, this viral campaign is in fact nearly finished and has been going on for over a month now, hence the wierd videos/PDA messages in Home since then.

well after watching the video i get the a funny feeling it has something to do with zombies.
its the cctv like part of the video makes me get a feeling of zombies.
the girl in the video could mean something.
the train could mean something
the weird looking machine type thing means something just cant put it all 2gether.

my guess is Xcross Interface, maybe they will intergrate home and the XMB better?

Just when you thought Home couldn't get any more shit.

I had already seen all this in Home, and I thought it was a teleporter. I thought it said something about teleporting on a message when I tried to use it.

There wasn't just one random video a month ago. This is a huge viral campaign that has been going on for about a month now.

It has created the biggest ever thread on both the EU and NA forums I believe and there has been updates to the PDAs in Home and new videos on the giant screens in the Home Square/Central Plaza at least twice a week all containing different clues which somehow are meant to correspond to each other. Just to add, this video you've posted Majed shows all the videos posted in Home so far together. Each of those "shutter" noises is the end and beginning of one of the separate videos that was shown in Home.

A new home space where you can teleport, seems obvious enough.

Could someone tell me what Xi is? Like, I assume it is something that existed prior to this viral marketing campaign.

PS - I was totally right about Bob's Game. He was just playing out the events of the storyline in his game, but in real life. He's not actually crazy. I called it months ago. It, too, was viral marketing. ^_^

The Xi symbol is on the wall to the left of the studio apartment entrance in home square. It says "Teleport."

Yes, that is correct but ONLY on the European HOME... It appears when the RE5 space appeared and the Home Square got its Helicopter game...

I just had to download a new Home Square for North America and the symbol is there where I just stated it to be. So it is not ONLY Euro Home.

Cool. They updated it, but it's actually on the right - depends if you are entering or exiting the Apartments - lol

btw, it's called Home Square in Europe and Central Plaza in US - that's what confused me - lol

Maybe it lets you go to diferent countries Home?

An interesting, mysterious thing to look forward to, but the trailer was downright irritating.
