I hope his new character design has a giant zipper running all the way around his body vertically. :P

Well, I don't think it *needs* to be a huge deal. Flashbacks wouldn't exactly be too bizarre. Nor would showing up in media; for example on in-game TV or games.

Pretty useless, really; doesn't even give us an idea of how much plot continuity there'll be. Could be anything from Destroy Man coming back as Travis' sidekick to a short cameo. And really, he only had a few minutes of dialogue at best in NMH, there's no reason to believe that the actor would point out (or know!) if the role was minor.

Awesome. Destroyman was my favorite boss fight next to the end fight. A lot of people seem to hate him because he's a cheap asshole but I liked how insane he was and how the cutscenes really highlighted Travis' badass-ness.

@ Feba
What the hell are you so pissed about? The game isn't coming out until 1/2010 and this is the first piece of news on it since the trailer. The assumption was Destroyman is dead so he won't be in the sequel. So despite your desire to tear this apart with pessimism, this is good and unexpected news about NMH2.

Where the hell are you getting the idea that I'm pissed? And no, it's not 'news'. It's information. News would be saying that Destroy Man has a significant part of the plot. News would be saying there's a fight against him in the sequel. This is just "Destroy Man's voice actor reprised his role for the sequel".

I'm just pointing out that this doesn't mean anything about NMHDS's plot, or what Destroy Man has to do with it. That it doesn't mean he's a boss again, or that he's returned to life. I enjoyed the voice acting, if mainly for the "Ocelot, if he were a superhero and more of a dick" factor. I've got nothing against Destroy Man showing up in whatever form. But some people, like yourself apparently, could easily take this way farther than the facts.

News is news. The definition doesn't change based on what you consider to be important. And I'm not taking this particular news for anything more than it is. Like I said, Destroyman was one of my favorite bosses and I'm just excited to see that Suda51 has worked him into NMH2 in some form. Everyone is aware that there is a chance that it could be just some minor appearance but there's nothing wrong with some weird speculation. I got annoyed because I've been waiting to hear ANYTHING about this game since the trailer and it just seems like you're trying to bring people down.

All I'm going to say is that pessimism and realism (in the sense of being a realist, not games looking like reality) are two very different things.

And honestly, I'd consider the assumption that Suda is recycling bosses to be far more pessimistic.

You're the first to mention anything about "recycling bosses." And that phrasing isn't helping you prove that you're not being pessimistic about this.

If I am remembering correctly, Destroyman was an easy boss. All you had to do was swat back his blasts with your Katana, then go in for the kill. I hope they open up the world, give us more places to explore, BIGGER SANDBOX.

Otherwise I loved the original, the soundtrack was one of the best parts of the game.

All of the bosses in NMH are like that, though. Dodge/guard their attacks, find an opening, attack while they're open, and get the heck out before they get their wits back and knock you senseless. The only difficulty comes from focusing on one of those areas and beefing them up; make attacks that have less room for error in dodging, make them invincible more often, give them more health. Shinobu and the final two bosses probably being the best examples. None of NMH's bosses are really very difficult, with the obvious exceptions of ones the plot requires you lose. Although Destroy Man did have more than just the energy ball attack; he also had Destroy Spark, which was a small bit that went right in front of him, a ground slam attack that did damage to the ground around him, and a beam attack (possibly two, can't remember). You might be thinking of when he starts flying around, he does spam the energy ball when he does that, but stops as soon as you knock him back to the ground.
