Wear some comfy shoes: 90% of E3 space booked up
With E3 trying to reclaim its former glory by once again taking over the entirety of the LA Convention center, there's going to be a lot to see and do this year. There's also going to be a lot of walking to do, because 90% of the space for June's show has already been claimed, so says the ESA. The organization's goal of 40,000 qualified attendees is also on track and it has confirmed that over 100 exhibitors are already on board, besting the 86 we knew about back in February.
E3 2009 will take place at the Los Angeles Convention Center June 2 though June 4.

It ain't got nothin' on PAX. I like my conventions to be for the gamers themselves, and PAX does that and then some.

Soooo, anybody been that isn't in the industry? Hard for me to gauge whether I'd have fun going to this, I mean obviously I game and dig videogames and all that... Typically it seems like I read a lot about hefty lines to check out anything worth seeing/playing, and playing a game for only a lil bit in a demo type way doesn't really turn my crank.

Get some friends together and you'll have fun regardless of whether or not E3 impresses this year.
This is gonna sound dorky as shit but being an east-coaster, my friends and I make it a habit to chill over at my house every year on my comfy sofa and watch G4 and internet coverage of E3. And it's a riot.

I attended this back in 2005 when I worked for BB and it was an absolute blast. Played the 360 for the first time. Yeah, some of the lines were long, but you expected that. I also had the chance to attend a Community event through Microsoft called C3 @ E3. It was hosted by Major Nelson. They opened up the CC after hours and had the MS booth open to gamers. Guys from Bungie and MS were there socializing with all of us. I also met a lot of other gamers from around the world. There was over 60,000 attendees and every square foot of the Convention Center was booked. I'd do anything to go this year, but I was denied.

Perfect date for a restored venue. Not so that i have to wait until fucking July, but not so it directly conflicts with final exams.

I missed you E3.

Cannot wait for the Modern Warfare 2 announcement.
It's inevitable.

Unless you know Activision moves their keynote somewhere else like last year but yeah I would like to see some footage that and hopefull y a new Mech Warrior...who am I kidding? its probably about Guitar Hero Metallica,World Tour 2,DS and with some luck Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 footage.
Dr Jeckyl and Mr ESC. @ Mar 19th 2009 9:19PM
What I like most is watching it live in forums or chats,we get to joke around if the keynote is bad (Nintendo) or mention how everyone shat their pants during a Megaton announcement (Final Fantasy XIII Xbaucks)...Good Times.
Also the frustration of looking around for the best coverage like last year I was stuck with Gamespot "slow streaming is slow" coverage or IGN "you shall not pass our 10 Axe/Gum ads" video coverage.

This is how E3 should be! I recognize the last year or so it very well may have been better for you journalists to cover it, but the crazy over the top style of E3 in the past really put the energy out!
CBXweb @ Mar 20th 2009 4:55AM
Five hundred and ninety nine US dollars.

How does one get into E3?
