I honestly don't care either way, just being informative. I won't be buying the game due to not really enjoying the first Bioshock.

inFamous looks interesting though.

Good to know. Although I'd have to admit so far the end of this year is going to be rather costly for PS3 owners.Uncharted 2 & HOPEFULLY God of War 3 will be eating me of $120.

No concrete release date but most people are betting on a Q4 2009-Q1 2010. I think the later is more likely.

Good stuff 2K - guess you've got decent enough dev tools at this point and learned from the initial BioShock port.

I don't know why they ever subtitled it Sea of Dreams. It sounded like some sort of fruity romance story on a boat. I still haven't bought the first one but I already want to get the second one, especially now that it doesn't sound like it's going to be set on the Love Boat.

From what I read in Gameinformer this game sounds like garbage. I really loved Bioshock one and It seems like they are trying to make a quick cash in. Why can't we start the game before Rapture went to hell? Then half way through the game shit hits the fan and you have to try and escape or something. I don't think the game will draw you in as well being a big daddy. Multiplayer and co-op shouldn't even be mentioned with this game. Just my two cents.

It already does or is in the planning stages. There is a movement in California to do this. They want to build a city in the ocean that doesn't follow one kind of government. I can't find the article but I saw it on cnn.com the other day.

This article is startlingly short. It's almost getting to be like *shudders* Engadget where the picture is bigger than the article. I guess I can handle that so long as Joystiq doesn't become an Apple cult.

I rather like the lack of flowering in that post. Though it it is strange that this site isn't more Apple friendly given how good they are now.

spoiler
I don't think a prequel would work too well. The two major bosses, Fontain and Ryan, were killed in the first one. If you go back to before that happened, who are the bosses, who do we kill? We have practically the whole account of the war between the two. A prequel would be nothing new in the story department, or it would have to be an insignificant side-tale the doesn't pertain to the one we already know. Small potatoes in other words. By giving us so much information about what happens before we arrive in rapture they effectively closed the door on a prequel. The only choice is to move on. I, for one, am really looking forward to this game. I hope they give us a demo before the actual release this time.

Ditto. Bioshock is by far my favorite single-player game for the 360, and I can't effing wait for this sequel. I think this is the only logical place to go for a second installment. I'm so looking forward to drilling some bitch-ass Splicers right in the face.

not sure why but the first one just did not grab me the way I was hoping to. Maybe if I played it in 2007, but I picked it up for ps3 recently and it just got forgotten in all of the holiday craziness...I guess it just wasn't what I was expecting. Graphics and atmosphere are great, but the gameplay seemed too much like a treasure hunt. Maybe I'll go back to it and finish once i beat RE5. I can't believe I'm saying it but all the good games need to slow down for a month or two!

too bad this pretty much means the PS3 version will be a half-assed port of the 360 version... such a pity.

What the hell would make you think that? It's coming out on all the platforms the first one was on. As far as I know, the PS3 version got exclusive DLC. Half assed port?? I think not.

PS3 version got extra DLC and slightly, VERY slightly updated graphics an year later. I have yet to see a game that is release simultaneously on all platforms that actually had decent development time on the PS3 itself. Pretty much every multiplatform game released on the PS3 so far has been a 360 port.
Half-assed is just my guess because devs don't usually take the extra time needed to fully work with the PS3 if the game is not an exclusive.

JC, Will series creator Ken Levine still "be working on BioShock 2.”??

I he is, how big is his role in the development of BioShock 2?

I know this had already been discussed in a post on Mar 12th 2008 at 10:45AM on XBOX 360 FANBOY by Xav de Matos.

I just want to see if his role has changed, Hopefully he is involved in a big way, he's the series creator and he pushed the development team, regardless if they liked him or not. \
At any job you don't necessarily need to get along w/ your manager, couch, director, etc...you just have to be able to work w/ him or her...
