Breanna Lucci, a student at Massachusetts' Academy of Notre Dame high school, has a bone to pick with Activision. (Which, we imagine, she'll later give to her two Pomeranians, "Fluffy" and "Winnie The Pooh.") Lucci, the president of her school's Animal Rights Club, is upset by the need to shoot Nazi attack dogs in Call of Duty: World at War. So, she's started a petition.
"Parents need to know what they are buying their kids. Killing animals should not be a form of entertainment," Lucci told the local Lowell Sun. She was first introduced to the game's canine genocide while watching her college aged brother playing. "My little 12-pound Pomeranian, Winnie the Pooh, is sitting next to him, and I'm thinking, 'This looks horrible!'" Although she's sure her brother "won't be killing dogs after playing," she believes "some people might."
Lucci plans to forward her petition, which has been signed by more than 100 of her fellow students, to Activision. Contrary to some petitions aimed at game publishers, hers is simply a show of disgust, and does not call for any executives to be fired, boiled alive or hung by their feet until dead. You go, girl.

I have a 5 pound miniature wiener dog, and I still know the damn difference between a dog and a MILITARY ATTACK DOG.
Uggggg.
At least world at war doesn't feature the Hitler Youth as enemies. I wonder how that would have went over.

Yeah. This whole thing shows how immature she really is. I wonder how her petition to save the unicorns is going? And of course, she makes it clear that this won't make her brother violent towards animals, but it might make others. Not that I agree with any of this crap, but she's still a hypocrite.

@ Bannana Boat: I'm waiting for a WWII game where they have joy divisions in it, and I'm not talking about the band.
As for zombie Fightin' Irish girl, I'd hit it. I have low standards (At least she's not fat).

I think outside of her eyes she's pretty hot. I imagine that if she wasn't wearing too much eye makeup it wouldn't look too bad. If a girl like that tried to get petitions, I bet she could easily get a bunch of nerdy guys to sign it without even looking at what they're doing.
On the actual subject though, this is what pisses me off about these vegetarians and animal rights people. A lot, not all, but a lot of them only care about the animals. This girl probably cares more about fake dogs dying in a game then real people getting killed in Africa.

Reminds me an episode of Bullshit where they interview a psychologist who talks about how so many people have nothing to complain about or rally against, so they take up with these pseudo-activist groups, yet they really know nothing about what they are protesting against. They really just want a group of people with whom to play hacky sack or form drum circles.

The funny thing is that Pomeranians are violent little things. Don't know what it is about the breed (probably poor breeding) but they tend to be snippy as hell.
You know this dumb bitch is the type of person that dresses her dog up in little costumes and takes him everywhere in a purse with her.
I hate people like this. I hate people like this so effing much, even more so than the anti-video game crowd. Dogs are animals. Dogs do act a lot like people (reason why we domesticated wolves, we and they can read each other's body languages incredibly well.) Dogs and humans are more similar than they are different, but there are still major differences. They are not little people. That little puppy in the picture up there is a wolf pup. Sure, he has had extensive behavior modification done through millenia of breeding, but he is still fundamentally a wolf.
She's probably a vegetarian too. God, I hope she doesn't have her dog follow a vegetarian diet. People like that who basically torture their dog just because they have some notion about cosmic balance are even worst than the dog-as-accessory people. Yes, I know that dogs can follow vegetarian diets, unlike cats. It's still not very good for them, and it will take years off their life just because your crazy moon/sun/fertility/feminine-ideal god demands that you violate basic nutrition.

what UserDoesNotExist said is true, I have two Pomeranians and they are very funny and playfull. But when they get mad watch out, they bite very hard and run like a bullet so you can´t get them, it´s like yoda on drugs.
But it has to do with the fact that they where originally big dogs, and one day somebody (probably a paris hilton with lot of time to do) decided to make the breed small, so after a lot of breeding Pomeranians where born, but they kept the big dog instinct, anyway who wouldn´t be mad when you used to be a though dog but some stupid humans decided to transform you into a living purse???
To be honest i don´t like to shot dogs in games, guess is like riggs said in lethal weapon 3: We can't shoot a dog. People? Okay, but not dogs.

Let's not forget that in the command and conquer series you can breed dogs, bears, ever so cute dolphins, etc. to kill and be killed, and they make adorable noises when killed.
But, oh yeah, that series is less popular so instead of doing research and being objective, she's just out to make a public fart.

Anyway, yeah, people are animals too, don't they count, even if they ARE Nazis.
Fact: Nazis, Russians, Americans, British, and the whole rest of the world got shot at in WWII. Dogs were shot too. It happened.

How about telling parents what the fu$%ing M on the front of the box is about instead. Regardless of what the game is about if its got a M on the front of it should probably shouldn't be buying it for your kids. Maybe that way I can get through a round of Halo3 with out some prepubescent kid screaming in my ear over and over about complete f'n gibberish

I understand where shes coming from. Humans make their own choices that could lead into being killed or executed, sometimes beacuse of personal choices sometimes just because of unlucky choices.
However, humans have made a contract with dogs, dogs trust us and only act on our desires. The killing of an innocent animal is a much bigger deal than the killing of a human who made their choice and knew what they were getting into. I fully support her in her endevors.
Now if I had stopped their I might have gotten laid, but lets not forget that these are not real animals, infact they are just bits of code and art, then we realize that shes a looney. I don't care what you do in a game.
Nothing is real. Everything is permitted.

I'm pretty sure Germans were drafted into the military during World War II, how is it any more right to kill them than dogs Shag? Not too mention that if a dog is attacking you for the kill, you aren't going to be thinking of animal rights, you're just going to kill the damned thing.

But just for her, I'm going to go play Metal Gear Solid 3, and STAB THOSE PESKY RUSSIAN ATTACK DOGS TO DEATH WITH A RUSTY FORK.

lets ignore that they did it in 4 simply because you didn't do it in multiplayer. killing the animals ISNT part of the entertainment it seems to me. its part of holy shit these things want to rip out my neck, i'm gonna kill you before you kill me. why not protest that you are mindlessly killing tons of soldiers? don't they have lives, doesn't that send a negative image?

But then she'd have to get off her ass and actually do something. She got ONE HUNDRED people to sign a petition, that's a lot of effort for an armchair protester.
